Porous membranes were developed in a two step process using supercritical CO2 technology. Copolymers of methyl methacrylate (MMA) and methacrylic acid (MAA) were synthesized for the first time in supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO2), being identified by 1H NMR and FT-IR. The influence of the feed monomer ratio on their morphology, average molecular weight and Tg was studied. These PMMA-co-PMAA copolymers were then used in the preparation of thin pH-responsive membranes by scCO2-assisted phase inversion method. The prepared films were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, mercury porosimetry, dynamical mechanical analysis, swelling and contact angle measurements, in order to study their morphology, pH-responsive character, hydrophilicity and viscoelastic properties by changing the monomer ratio composition of the copolymer from 5 to 50 wt% of MAA with respect to the total mass of monomers. PMMA-co-PMAA membranes were then tested for a potential application as protein filtration devices. Bovine serum albumin (BSA) was used as a model protein and permeation measurements were performed at three different pHs (4.5, 5.0 and 7.4). The PMMA–PMAA (90:10) membrane showed a good performance in terms of BSA amount filtrated, with distinct profiles at different pH, and consequently capable to assume an efficient role in protein filtration processes. 相似文献

In this article, a facile strategy was developed to prepare BA‐MMA‐GMA/MWNTs (multiwalled carbon nanotubes) hybrid nanoparticles as nanofillers in rubber by single‐step grafting technique. First, a new macromolecular surface modifier butyl acrylate (BA)‐α‐methyl methacrylate(MMA)‐glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) terpolymer was synthesized via radical copolymerization. Afterward, this terpolymer modifier was covalently grafted onto the surface of crude MWNTs by single‐step grafting technique. The structure, surface properties, and thermal stability of modified MWNTs were systematically investigated by FTIR, TGA, and TEM. FTIR results showed that BA‐MMA‐GMA terpolymer was successfully grafted onto the surface of MWNTs. TGA indicated that the optimum mass fraction of macromolecular modifier coated on the surface of MWNTs was 9 wt %. Organic–inorganic hybrid materials are one of the most attractive topics, which deals from fundamental researches to practical applications. In the present research, we have studied the polymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA) on the surface of γ‐methacryloxy propyl trimethoxy silane (γ‐MPS) modified nanosilica ball (NSB). The polymeric materials were characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA). The results show that new core‐shell structured materials, NSB core‐PMMA shell composites, have been synthesized. The core‐shell hybrid materials can be adjusted to form only a single spherical phase. The chitosan/starch blend films of 2:1 ratio were prepared by solution casting. Tensile strength (TS) and elongation at break (%Eb) of chitosan/starch blend film were found to be 9.33 MPa and 3.6%, respectively. The blend films (2% Chitosan) were soaked in six different formulations of methylmethacrylate (MMA) monomer and aliphatic urethane diacrylate oligomer (M-1200) at different time intervals (1–5 min) and irradiated under UV radiation at different intensities (5–35 pass). Formulations containing 43% MMA and 15% oligomer in methanol solution showed 209% increase in TS at 25th UV pass for 4 min soaking time. SEM and FTIR were used to investigate the molecular interaction and morphology of the blend film, respectively. 相似文献

为提高白乳胶的粘接性能和耐水性,采用硅烷偶联剂(KH-570)和甲基丙烯酸甲酯(MMA)对纳米TiO2(nano-TiO2)进行改性;以MMA和改性nano-TiO2为白乳胶的改性剂,比较了不同改性方法对改性白乳胶的固含量、黏度、硬度、粘接强度和耐水性等影响。结果表明:各种改性方法制成的适量改性nano-TiO2,均能改善白乳胶的相关性能;当m(MMA)∶m(等质量的MMA和KH-570共同改性nano-TiO2)∶m(过硫酸钾)=4∶2∶0.1时,改性白乳胶的黏度(15.72 Pa.s)、硬度(2H)、粘接强度(9.6 MPa)和耐水性(20、80℃水中的开胶时间分别为57、39 h)均达到最大值。 相似文献
