Procyanidins are abundant in sorghum episperm. In this study, the effects of procyanidins from Sorghum bicolor (L.) moench episperm (sorghum procyanidins, SPC) in preventing dental caries were investigated through analysis on SPCs’ effects on cariogenic bacteria and ability in scavenging superoxide anion free radicals. In addition, the SPC with activity in preventing dental caries were identified. The ESI-MS/MS analysis results revealed that the compositions of SPC purified by macroporous resin were dimmers, trimers, tetramers, pentamers and hexamers of procyanidins and catechin/epicatechin monomers. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and the minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) of SPC on Streptococcus mutans (Ingbritt C) and Streptococcus sobrinus 6715 were 8 and 16 mg/ml, respectively. The SPC had a remarkable inhibition effect (P < 0.05) on acid production of S. sobrinus (Ingbritt C) and S. mutans 6715 compared with the control group, and a dose-dependent relationship was observed. By increasing the concentration of SPC in the experimental condition (200–600 mg/L), the scavenging ratio of superoxide anion radicals increased significantly, indicating that SPC could be used as a potential dental-caries-preventative medicine with its antibacterial and antioxidant ability.  相似文献

Confocal scanning laser microscopy (SLM) is a technique that offers geologists a new way of studying structures in minerals at the submicrometre level. As an example we show how the non-destructive nature of confocal SLM can be used to measure and count fission tracks (line defects formed by the spontaneous fission of238U) in the uranium-bearing mineral apatite, and to provide information about the geometry and crystallographic orientation of fluid inclusions trapped inside apatite grains during crystallization. The technique also provides a means of studying the internal geometry of chemical zonation in minerals. The digitized nature of the SLM images makes them amenable to a variety of image analysis techniques, and we show how image analysis can be used to measure fission tracks in mica sheets and provide crude estimates of track dip. Finally, using a chemically etched mica sheet we show how confocal SLM can be used to provide a detailed near-surface (1–5 μm) analysis of geological materials.  相似文献

The kinetics of oxidative cracking of n‐hexane to olefins using lattice oxygen of VOx/Ce‐Al2O3 is investigated. The TPR/TPO analysis shows a consistent reducibility (79%) of VOx/Ce‐Al2O3 in repeated redox cycles. The total acidity of the sample is found to be 0.54 mmol/g with 22% are strong acid sites that favors olefin selectivity. The oxidative cracking of n‐hexane in a fluidized CREC Riser simulator gives approximately 60% olefin selectivity at 30% n‐hexane conversion. A kinetic model is developed considering (1) cracking, (2) oxidative dehydrogenation (ODH), and (3) catalyst deactivations. The proposed cracking mechanism considers adsorption, C–H and C–C bond fission and desorption as elementary steps and implemented by pseudo steady state hypothesis. A Langmuir‐Hinshelwood mechanism is found to represent the ODH reactions. The developed model fits the experimental data with favorable statistical indicators. We have proposed a new selective isotope transmutation method using photonuclear reactions with quasi-monochromatic γ-ray beams. This method is based on the fact that the particle threshold of a long-lived fission product (LLFP) such as 93Zr, 107Pd, or 79Se is lower than those of stable isotopes of the same chemical element. Therefore, this method has the excellent advantage that LLFPs cannot, in principle, be produced newly even if the target materials include stable isotopes in addition to LLFPs. Furthermore, this method is effective for 126Sn, 135, 137Cs, 90Sr, and 3H. The nuclear data involved and suitable γ-ray sources are discussed. Laser Compton scattering γ-ray sources and neutron capture γ-rays in nuclear reactors are candidates for this method.  相似文献

~(238)U裂变产额测量工作在核数据测量中有着重要意义,本工作利用2.5MeV质子静电加速器产生的1.4MeV-5MeV单能中子诱发238U裂变,通过对裂变产物放射性的测量对裂变产物核素~(135)I、~(133)I、~(105)Ru和~(91)Sr的产额进行了测定。照射过程中中子通量用活化法确定。分析了影响实验测量的多个因素,包括用MCNPX程序对中子在靶头及样品中的多次散射和自屏蔽效应进行了修正,对γ射线在样品中的自吸收进行修正等。得到产额数据典型误差为3.5%,最后把测量结果与已有的裂变产额数据进行比对。  相似文献

Apatite Fission-Track Analysis(AFTA)is emerging as an important new tool for ther-mal history analysis in sedimentary basins.At temperatures between approximately 20℃ and150℃ over times of the order of 1 to 100 million years,fission tracks in apatite are an-nealed.This is due to a rearrangement of the damage present in unetched tracks,with theresult that less of a track is etchable than in fresh,newly created tracks.Because of this,thelength of an etched fission track reduces with increasing annealing,and in turn,the track den-sity(and hence the fission-track age) is also decreased.In selected boreholes in the OtwayBasin,southeastern Australia,apatites from the Otway Group show reduction in confinedfission-track length and apparent fission-track age,in a fashion characteristic of a simple ther-mal history in which samples are at or near their maximum temperatures at the present day.Track lengths show a steady decrease from lengths of approximately 15μm in outcrop ornear surface samples,to zero at abo  相似文献

开展了有源符合中子法探测^235U富集度为90.34%的小圆柱状金属铀块裂变材料的方法与技术研究。使用有源井型中子符合计数装置测量金属铀块中^235U受Am-Li中子源诱发后产生的裂变中子,运用最小二乘法的计算方法将测得的中子总计数率、真符合计数率分别与金属铀块质量做线性拟合,其线性相关性系数达0.999;在此基础上,进一步测量了在相同质量金属铀的条件下不同源、样距及不同样品形状的中子计数变化趋势。  相似文献
