This report summarizes the 2nd International Summer School on Network and Service Management (ISSNSM’08), which was held at
the Communication Systems Group (CSG) of the Department of Informatics (IFI), University of Zurich, Switzerland, on 2–6 June
2008. Supported by the European FP6 Network of Excellence for the Management of Internet Technologies and Complex Services
(EMANICS), the ISSNSM presented within 5 days eight different topics, covering the areas of (1) security, (2) virtualization
and simulations, and (3) network monitoring and management. All of these run for a full or half day, including a short theoretical
introduction and larger practical lab course components, respectively.

为了保证广播电视节目的安全稳定播出,需要对广播电视发射机运行状态进行远程监测和控制。基于Web的广播电视发射机远程监控具有很强的适应性和开放性,符合现代远程监控系统的要求。讨论了基于Web服务器的广播电视发射机远程监控的2种方案,给出了基于嵌入式Web的广播电视发射机远程监控系统体系结构和系统功能,介绍了以SX52BD微处理器为核心的嵌入式Web服务器的软硬件设计与实现。针对系统功能的要求,着重对软件设计进行了分析,并提出利用Java Applet和Socket技术在Web页面上实现监控计算机与嵌入式Web服务器进行动态交互的具体方法。系统应用于某电视发射台发射机的远程监控,试运行效果良好。 相似文献

Designers of complex real-time systems need to address dependability requirements early on in the development process. This
paper presents a model-based approach that allows developers to analyse the dependability of use cases and to discover more
reliable and safe ways of designing the interactions of the system with the environment. The hardware design and the dependability
of the hardware to be used also needs to be considered. We use a probabilistic extension of statecharts to formally model
the interaction requirements defined in the use cases. The model is then evaluated analytically based on the success and failure
probabilities of events. The analysis may lead to further refinement of the use cases by introducing detection and recovery
measures to ensure dependable system interaction. A visual modelling environment for our extended statecharts formalism supporting
automatic probability analysis has been implemented in AToM3, A Tool for Multi-formalism and Meta-Modelling. Our approach is illustrated with an elevator control system case study.

Mobile sensing and mapping applications are becoming more prevalent because sensing hardware is becoming more portable and
more affordable. However, most of the hardware uses small numbers of fixed sensors that report and share multiple sets of
environmental data which raises privacy concerns. Instead, these systems can be decentralized and managed by individuals in
their public and private spaces. This paper describes a robust system called MobGeoSens which enables individuals to monitor
their local environment (e.g. pollution and temperature) and their private spaces (e.g. activities and health) by using mobile
phones in their day to day life. The MobGeoSen is a combination of software components that facilitates the phone’s internal
sensing devices (e.g. microphone and camera) and external wireless sensors (e.g. data loggers and GPS receivers) for data
collection. It also adds a new dimension of spatial localization to the data collection process and provides the user with
both textual and spatial cartographic displays. While collecting the data, individuals can interactively add annotations and
photos which are automatically added and integrated in the visualization file/log. This makes it easy to visualize the data,
photos and annotations on a spatial and temporal visualization tool. In addition, the paper will present ways in which mobile
phones can be used as noise sensors using an on-device microphone. Finally, we present our experiences with school children
using the above mentioned system to measure their exposure to environmental pollution.

Reliability-based design optimization (RBDO) incorporates probabilistic analysis into optimization process so that an optimum
design has a great chance of staying in the feasible design space when the inevitable variability in design variables/parameters
is considered. One of the biggest drawbacks of applying RBDO to practical problem is its high computational cost that is often
impractical to industries. In search of the most suitable RBDO method for industrial applications, we first evaluated several
existing RBDO approaches in details such as the double-loop RBDO, the sequential optimization and reliability assessment,
and the response surface method. Then, based on industry needs, a platform incorporating/integrating the existing algorithm
of optimization and reliability analysis is built for a practical RBDO problem. Effectiveness of the proposed RBDO approach
is demonstrated using a simple cantilever beam problem and a more complicated industry problem. 相似文献
