This study provides experimental evidence for proton and hydrogen formation caused by the anodic electropolymerization of cyclohexyl benzene (CHB), which is a popular electrolyte additive for overcharge protection of lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). It is found that considerable H2 evolution is observed in overcharged LiCoO2/graphite cells, especially when CHB is included as an electrolyte additive. In order to confirm the proton generation during the CHB oxidation, Pt/Pt-rotating ring disc electrode (RRDE) measurements are performed in 1 M Li(C2F5SO2)2N ethylene carbonate/ethyl methyl carbonate (1/2, v/v) solutions with and without CHB. The cathodic ring current is intimately correlated to the anodic disc current, and the cathodic reaction at the ring is determined to be the reduction of the proton. The proton generation efficiency during the CHB oxidation is as high as 90%. Proton liberation is also observed during the anodic decomposition of the electrolyte solvents, although it occurs in a much less stoichiometric way compared with that during the CHB oxidation. 相似文献

The strength of case-hardened parts under cyclic loading can be determined in an experimental manner, but this can produce
a large amount of costs due to the expenditure of material and testing time. Therefore, a calculation method is developed,
that strongly reduces the number of experiments. The presented model is based on Weibull's weakest-link concept and allows
to compute the survival probability of a case-hardened part which is loaded close to the fatigue limit. The essential quantities
in this model are the distribution of Vicker's hardness of the material, the exponents of the Weibull distribution of the
volume and the surface, the residual stress state, the surface roughness and the surface oxidation depth. By integrating the
survival probabilities of the surface and the volume, the survival probability of the entire specimen or part can be calculated,
which allows to compute the fatigue limit. The necessary parameters have to be determined from reference specimens. The model
is successfully examined by comparing experimental and calculated results of smooth and notched case-hardened specimens under
alternating torsion, rotating bending, repeated tension and tension-compression.

Quantitative x-ray diffraction topography techniques have been used to measure the residual strain magnitude and uniformity
of deposition for Mo and W sputtered films on Si(100) substrates. High sensitivity rocking curve measurements were able to
determine differential strains for films as thin as 2.5 nm; while Bragg angle contour mapping had similar sensitivity and
was also able to assess coating uniformity and stress distribution over areas covering a whole wafer. Measurements of strain
versus film thickness over a range of 2.5 nm to 80 nm showed that a critical thickness exists for maximum residual strain.
Growth beyond this range produces stress relaxation. This non-destructive type of analysis could be employed on a wide range

The determination of residual stresses induced by welding or heat treatment operations requires the use of complex models taking into account thermal, metallurgical and mechanical phenomena. In this paper, we propose a mechanical model in which each phase can follow its own constitutive law. This model also takes into account phase transformation plasticity, which is treated independently of the behavior of each phase. This model has been implemented into the French FEM code Castem 2000. The interest of the proposed method is that it allows one to mix any type of nonlinear behavior using Taylor homogenization hypothesis. There is no need to develop a theory to get the equations of the homogenized material law. Two numerical examples demonstrate the efficiency and the flexibility of this approach. The results obtained are compared to experimental values for a typical welding situation and a high-temperature response. This comparison seems to indicate that viscous effects in the materials have a significative influence on the residual stresses produced by welding. 相似文献

The influence of convective heat transfer on constant current density anodizing of aluminium in sulfuric acid has been examined in a wall-jet electrode reactor. The uniformity of the anodic film thickness is related to the local electrode temperature distribution, which is dependent on the convection. The higher the local temperature, the greater the local oxide thickness. An increased local temperature enhances local field assisted oxide dissolution at the pore bases, and consequently acts to increase the local current density. At relatively high current densities, local features develop on the electrode surface, accompanied by high initial, local temperature rises. The relevance of such local features, limiting useful oxide growth, is considered further. 相似文献
