Surface structure of silver thin films on In2O3:Sn and Al2O 3 †

Surface structure of thin silver films (200 Å) on two technologically important films, indium tin oxide (ITO) and aluminium oxide, has been studied using scanning tunneling microscope. ITO films were prepared by reactive electron beam evaporation. Aluminium oxide films were prepared by oxidizing 2000 Å thick aluminium films evaporated on to H₂ terminated single crystal silicon substrates. The surface structure of silver on ITO and aluminium oxide appeared to be same and was characteristic of Stranski-Krastanov type. The observed asymmetry in the island shape was attributed to the anisotropic nature of the strain fields surrounding the nucleation centres.     

Probabilistic linear models for multiresolution estimation in gray-level images

A multiresolution analysis of digital gray-level images is presented. A gray-level multi-scale framework is determined from two main assumptions: the gray scale is binary at the finest spatial resolution, and the gray levels of composed regions are obtained additively. In order to interrelate the gray-level histograms of the same image at different resolutions, probabilistic linear models are developed, which are then applied for estimation. Linear-optimization theory is used as a way of constructing such models. A general procedure for image processing is sketched, based on gray-level estimation. A versatile algorithm for nonlinear filtering is derived. A snake for model-based segmentation of biomedical images

In this work we present a snake based approach for the segmentation of images of computerized tomography (CT) scans. We introduce a new term for the internal energy and another one for external energy which solve common problems associated with classical snakes in this type of images. A simplified minimizing method is also presented.     

Hyperparameter estimation for satellite image restoration using a MCMC maximum-likelihood method

The satellite image deconvolution problem is ill-posed and must be regularized. Herein, we use an edge-preserving regularization model using a ? function, involving two hyperparameters. Our goal is to estimate the optimal parameters in order to automatically reconstruct images. We propose to use the maximum-likelihood estimator (MLE), applied to the observed image. We need sampling from prior and posterior distributions. Since the convolution prevents use of standard samplers, we have developed a modified Geman-Yang algorithm, using an auxiliary variable and a cosine transform. We present a Markov chain Monte Carlo maximum-likelihood (MCMCML) technique which is able to simultaneously achieve the estimation and the reconstruction.

路径规划是机器人技术中的重要组成部分,分全局路径规划和局部路径规划。本文将栅格法与模拟退火法结合,采用栅格法表示环境信息。局部路径规划主要基于模拟退火法,使路径跳出局部极小点,到达目标位置。     

On connections between 3-d microstructures and their 2-d images

The problem of recovery of three-dimensional microstructural parameters from two-dimensional images is addressed in its inverse form. Three-dimensional inhomogeneous solids with known microstructures are generated virtually and images of their cross-sections are analyzed. Three different types of randomly oriented microcracks and microcracks having preferential orientation with some scatter. Somewhat unexpected result is that, in all the cases considered, three-dimensional defect densities are very close to average values of corresponding two-dimensional parameters.     

基于高速摄像的ESPI全场动态特性测量

采用高速摄像与ESPI技术相结合,将运动中的被测物位移随时间变化的状态以序列图像的形式实时记录,并运用图像处理技术,成功地实现了ESPI动态测量。测量了悬臂梁的自由振动过程,获得了悬臂梁的振动周期、振动频率和阻尼系数等动态特性,实验结果与理论计算值相吻合。     

STM tunneling spectroscopy on high Tc superconductors

STM tunneling spectroscopy has been performed on the bulk single crystals of BiSrCaCuO (BSCCO) and the epitaxial thin films of YBaCuO (YBCO) at cryogenic temperatures. The STM images and tunneling spectra observed on the (001) surfaces can be classified into three cases; 1) Atomic image is visible. However, the tunneling spectrum shows semiconducting or smeared superconducting gap structures, depending on the tip-sample distance. 2) Clear atomic image can not be obtained. But, the tunneling spectrum shows flat bottom region with quite low zero bias conductance. 3) Tunneling spectra demonstrate gapless behavior, independent of the tip-sample separation. These observations support the quasi-2D electronic picture in whichs-wave like 2D superconducting layers are coupled with each other through the Josephson effect.
