Graft copolymerization of low‐density polyethylene (LDPE) onto starch was carried out with glucose–cerium(IV) redox initiator in an aqueous sulfuric acid medium under nitrogen atmosphere. The graft yield was influenced by various parameters like reaction time, temperature, and concentrations of acid, glucose, polyethylene (PE), starch, and initiator. A maximum graft yield of 85.66% was obtained at a temperature of 50°C and at higher concentration of starch. Effect of grafting on crystallinity, morphology, and thermal properties of modified PE has been evaluated using X‐ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA/DTA). Summary: The success of the use of layered silicates in polymer nanocomposites, to improve physical and chemical properties is strictly related to a deeper knowledge of the mechanistic aspects on which the final features are grounded. This work shows the temperature induced structural rearrangements of nanocomposites based on poly[ethylene‐co‐(vinyl acetate)] (EVA) intercalated‐organomodified clay (at 3–30 wt.‐% silicate addition) which occur in the range between 75 and 350 °C. In situ high temperature X‐ray diffraction (HT‐XRD) studies have been performed under both nitrogen and air to monitor the modifications of the nanocomposite structure at increasing temperatures under inert/oxidative atmosphere. Heating between 75 and 225 °C, under nitrogen or air, causes the layered silicate to migrate towards the nanocomposite surface and to increase its interlayer distance. The degradation of both the clay organomodifier and the VA units of the EVA polymer seems to play a key role in driving the evolution of the silicate phase in the low temperature range. The structural modifications of the nanocomposites in the high temperature range (250–350 °C), depended on the atmosphere, either inert or oxidizing, in which the samples were heated. Heating under nitrogen led to deintercalation and thus a decrease of the silicate interlayer space, whereas exfoliation was the main process under air leading to an increase of the silicate interlayer space.

Hydrophobic effects on binding of ribonuclease Tl to guaninebases of several ribonucleotides have been proved by mutatinga hydrophobic residue at the recognition site and by measuringthe effect on binding. Mutation of a hydrophobic surface residueto a more hydrophobic residue (Tyr45 – Trp) enhances thebinding to ribonucleotides, including mononucleotide inhibitorand product, and a synthetic substrate-analog trinudeotide aswell as the binding to dinucleotide substrates and RNA. Enhancementson binding to non-substrate ribonucleotides by the mutationhave been observed with free energy changes ranging from –2.2 to – 3 .9 kJ/mol. These changes are in good agreementwith that of substrate binding, –2.3 kJ/mol, which iscalculated from Michaelis constants obtained from kinetic studies.It is shown, by comparing the observed and calculated changesin binding free energy with differences in the observed transferfree energy changes of the amino acid side chains from organicsolvents to water, that the enhancement observed on guaninebinding comes from the difference in the hydrophobic effectsof the side chains of tyrosine and tryptophan. Furthermore,a linear relationship between nucleolytic activities and hydrophobicityof the residues (Ala, Phe, Tyr, Trp) at position 45 is observed.The mutation could not change substantially the base specificityof RNase Tl, which exhibits a prime requirement for guaninebases of substrates.  相似文献

Large amounts of amorphous carbon nanotubes (ACNTs) were prepared with Co-Ni alloy powders as catalyst in hydrogen gas atmosphere by a modified arc discharging furnace which can control temperature during the electric arcing process. The experimental results indicate that the cooperative function of temperature and catalyst plays an important role in the soot production rate and the relative ACNT purity. When temperature increases from 25 °C to 700 °C, the soot production rate increases from around 1 g/h to 8 g/h, the best relative ACNT purity at 600 °C can reach up to 99% compared to the room temperature sample. Without catalyst, only plate graphite is formed at 25 °C and very few carbon nanotubes are found when temperature increases to 600 °C. TEM, SEM, HRTEM and XRD analysis showed that the as-prepared carbon nanotubes are almost amorphous. The soot production rate is 8 g/h and diameter range of amorphous carbon nanotubes is about 7-20 nm, respectively.  相似文献

The polymorph method, which provides phase analysis from a small number of integrated intensities in a powder diffraction scan, is adapted for the determination of monoclinic zirconia in a mixture with cubic, tetragonal. and orthorhombic zirconias and the γ-phase (Mg2Zr5O12). Such a mixture is representative of Mg-PSZ after subeutectoid aging. The quantitative determination of the monoclinic depends in principle on a knowledge of the relative amounts of the other phases present in the mixture. It is demonstrated, however, that without this knowledge, even in complex mixtures, the traditional polymorph method analysis gives an acceptable estimate of the monoclinic fraction in the sample.  相似文献

针对光栅光调制器的光学调制特点,建立一种可变周期结构的光栅光调制器模型,采用Matlab软件中的数字图像处理方法进行研究。利用傅里叶变换分析两种周期结构的光栅光调制器在频谱面和像面的光场分布,并得到不同周期结构对器件调制对比度的影响。实验得到了两种结构像面的光强输出对比。结果表明:不同周期结构对器件的亮态调制效果影响不大;当器件上下反射面中心对齐,下层反射面在器件周期方向两侧各超出上层光栅面的1/2倍光栅间隙宽度时,器件具有最佳的暗态调制效果,从而得到了光栅光调制器的一种周期结构优化方案。  相似文献

High-speed steel W18Cr4V is commonly used in industries such as blade and mould manufacturers because of its high level of hardness and toughness, red-hardness and resistance. Ion implantation is an effective method to improve the wear resis-tance of W18Cr4V. In our investigation, Ta and Ta+N ion implantation was performed on W18Cr4V high-speed steel. The surface properties after implantation were evaluated by measuring friction coefficients while the carbonyl phase of the surface was ana-lyzed by X-ray diffraction analysis. It was found that the friction coefficients of the treated samples were much lower. Samples implanted with Ta+N had a lower friction coefficients than samples implanted only with Ta. This can be attributed to the formation of a new chemical compound, Fe7Ta3, on both surfaces. An even harder chemical compound, Fe2N, was formed on both sttrfaces of Ta+N implanted samples.  相似文献

自发极化和压电极化是氮化镓制作光电器件没有解决的问题,对非极性GaN材料的研究解决了极化现象.采用低温AIN作为缓冲层,在(1102)γ面蓝宝石和(0001)с面蓝宝石上分别生长了(1120)非极性α面和(0001)极性с面GaN,用原子力显微镜和高分辨X射线衍射、光致发光谱比较了生长在γ面蓝宝石上的α面GaN和с面蓝宝石上的с面GaN,α面GaN材料质量和с面GaN相差较大,在α面GaN上发现了三角坑的表面形貌,这和传统的с面生长的极性GaN截然不同.对α面GaN的缺陷形成原因进行了讨论,并且确定了三角坑缺陷的晶向.  相似文献
