Free energy simulations of the HyHEL-10/HEL antibody-antigen complex

Free energy simulations are reported for the N31^L-D mutation,both in the HyHEL-10-HEL antibody-lysozyme complex and in theunliganded antibody, using the thermo-dynamic-cycle perturbationmethod. The present study suggests that the mutation would changethe free energy of binding of the complex by –5.6 kcal/mol(unrestrained free energy simulations), by –0.5 kcal/mol(free energy simulations with a restrained backbone) and by1.8 kcal/ mol (Poisson-Boltzmann calculations, which also usea restrained geometry model). A detailed structural analysishelps in estimating the contributions from various residuesand regions of the system. Enhanced recognition of HEL by themutant HyHEL-10 would arise from the combination of thermodynamicallymore favorable conformational changes of the CDR loops uponassociation and subsequent charge pairing with Lys96 in theantigen.     

Biogas and biomass technology: Energy generation from biomass and waste in the Netherlands

Within the European Community, the interest in energy generation from biomass and waste is increasing. A brief overview is given of several thermal conversion technologies, of biomass production and waste availability in the Netherlands. Based on this, the possibilities for energy generation from biomass and waste in the Netherlands are evaluated.     

Implementation of a vector quantization codebook design technique based on a competitive learning artificial neural network

We describe an implementation of a vector quantization codebook design algorithm based on the frequencysensitive competitive learning artificial neural network. The implementation, designed for use on high-performance computers, employs both multitasking and vectorization techniques. A C version of the algorithm tested on a CRAY Y-MP8/864 is discussed. We show how the implementation can be used to perform vector quantization, and demonstrate its use in compressing digital video image data. Two images are used, with various size codebooks, to test the performance of the implementation. The results show that the supercomputer techniques employed have significantly decreased the total execution time without affecting vector quantization performance.This work was supported by a Cray University Research Award and by NASA Lewis research grant number NAG3-1164.     

计算机网络远程通信系统软硬件设计与实现

本文介绍一种新型远程通信系统，它克服了一般远程通信系统速度慢的缺点，将通信速度提高了８０多倍，同时，其硬件比一般远程通信系统简单，成本只有一般远程通信系统的一半左右，进一步提高了新型远程通信系统的性能价格比。在新型系统中精简了远程通信协议，提高了信道有效利用率；采用了各种行之有效的数据压缩算法，并加以改造，使之性能最佳；提供了程序远程透明执行功能，大大提高了系统的响应速度。     

PZT铁电薄膜的制备及电学性能研究

使用硝酸锆作锆源的溶胶－凝胶方法制备ＰＺＴ铁电薄膜。他们的电学性能被测试包括电滞回线，电流Ｉ（ｔ）特性，漏电流，矫顽场疲劳和老化。测到的ＰＺＴ薄膜剩余极化８．２μＣ／ｃｍ~２，矫顽场６８ｋＶ／ｃｍ．簿膜的寿命可超过１０~（１１）周期。

本文主要论述了开关磁阻电机传动技术的工作原理，系统结构和技术性能。介绍了该技术的发展背景、目前的应用情况和国内外发展水平。并对其前景表明了一些看法。     

Performance of absorption refrigeration cycle at maximum cooling rate

The influence of irreversibility of finite-rate heat transfer on the performance of an absorption refrigerator is investigated using an endoreversible cycle model with continuous flow. The cooling rate is adopted as an objective function for refrigerator optimization. The maximum cooling rate and the corresponding coefficient of performance are derived. The optimal performance with respect to heat transfer areas of the refrigerator is analysed. In addition, certain significant conclusions are reached.     

接收机有限带宽对多相码数字脉压的影响

限制接收机带宽是雷达系统中提高信噪比(SNR)的常用方法,相应的也会引起输出波形的失真。本文主要分析了多相码数字脉压雷达系统中,接收机有限带宽对脉压输出结果所造成的影响。运用五点滑动窗平均法在计算机上进行了模拟,并给出了仿真结果。     

激光器绝热啁啾对光纤通信系统传输特性的影响

通过理论分析、实验和计算机模拟得到：进行直接强度调制时，体块型DFB激光器的总微分量子效率（与多量子阱DFB激光器相比）过低，从而导致其绝热啁啾占激光器啁啾的主要部分；用于无再生中继距离较大的强度调制／直接检测（IM／DD）光纤通信系统时，色散效应将导致信号脉冲上升沿压缩，使系统误码率增加。据此建议：在无再生中继距离大于100～120km的常规单模光纤IM／DD系统中，应采用多量子阱激光器。
