The author refers to "Paul Winn." The referenced author's last name was printed incorrectly. The correct spelling is Winum. (The following abstract of the original article appeared in record 2008-07255-002.) Consulting and training for cultural diversity is both challenging and rewarding. This article issues a call to face the challenges of diversity consulting and describes strategies and approaches for successful work. Using examples from the author's practice, the author calls on consultants to (1) get up to speed with knowledge about diversity and social justice, (2) avoid consultations that are too superficial, (3) balance content and process, (4) find ways to sustain themselves and their clients, and (5) work for the Common Good. Children and adolescents who are exposed to traumatic events are helped by numerous child-serving agencies, including health, mental health, education, child welfare, first responder, and criminal justice systems to assist them in their recovery. Service providers need to incorporate a trauma-informed perspective in their practices to enhance the quality of care for these children. This includes making sure that children and adolescents are screened for trauma exposure; that service providers use evidence-informed practices; that resources on trauma are available to providers, survivors, and their families; and that there is a continuity of care across service systems. This article reviews how traumatic stress impacts children and adolescents' daily functioning and how various service systems approach trauma services differently. It also provides recommendations for how to make each of these service systems more trauma informed and an appendix detailing resources in the National Child Traumatic Stress Network that have been produced to meet this objective. 公平责任在司法实践中的运用已是不争的事实。但学界却存在关于公平责任的争论。通过对公平内涵的再认识,对公平责任与过错责任和无过错责任的区别,作者认为“公平责任”并不真正“公平”。它体现的更多的是“秩序”而不是“公平”。建议将“公平责任”改称“衡平责任”,以避免概念理解上的混乱。  相似文献

Theories of leadership have neglected diversity issues. As the population within the United States and in countries throughout the world becomes increasingly diverse, the contexts in which leadership occurs within institutions and communities will also become increasingly diverse. Attention to diversity is not simply about representation of leaders from diverse groups in the ranks of leadership. Attention to diversity means paradigm shifts in our theories of leadership so as to make them inclusive; it means incorporating explanations of how dimensions of diversity shape our understanding of leadership. It means paying attention to the perceptions and expectations of diverse leaders by diverse followers and to how bias influences the exercise of leadership. Although leadership theories have evolved and reflect changing social contexts, they remain silent on issues of equity, diversity, and social justice. Theories of leadership need to be expanded to incorporate diversity if they are to be relevant for the 21st century amidst new social contexts, emerging global concerns, and changing population demographics. This study tests the influence of servant leadership on 2 group climates, employee attitudes, and organizational citizenship behavior. Results from a sample of 815 employees and 123 immediate supervisors revealed that commitment to the supervisor, self-efficacy, procedural justice climate, and service climate partially mediated the relationship between servant leadership and organizational citizenship behavior. Cross-level interaction results revealed that procedural justice climate and positive service climate amplified the influence of commitment to the supervisor on organizational citizenship behavior. Abstract

This study proposes a novel approach for designing transformers to reduce the inrush current using asymmetrical winding. Differently from traditional methods, the inrush current was reduced based on increasing the inrush equivalent inductance by changing the proportion of inner layer to outer layer in coil winding. To estimate the distributive ratio of winding, the formulae of the inrush equivalent inductance and the leakage inductance are calculated from the structural parameters of the transformer. By theoretical analyses, an optimum distributive ratio of coil winding is presented. Experimental results confirm that inrush current can be reduced concurrently with appropriate voltage regulation and short‐circuit current in transformer.  相似文献
