Evaluating reactivity to ecological momentary assessment during smoking cessation.

Ecological momentary assessment (EMA) consists of assessing phenomena in real time in the natural environment. EMA allows for more fine-grained analyses of addictive behavior and minimizes threats to internal validity, such as recall biases and errors. However, because of the intensive monitoring involved in EMA, measurement reactivity is a concern. To test whether EMA with palmtop personal computers induces reactivity, the authors compared smoking-related outcomes between smokers using EMA and those not using EMA during a quit attempt. The use of no-EMA control groups has been rare in reactivity investigations to date. The EMA protocol included event-contingent assessments (smoking episodes, urge episodes) and random assessments. Outcomes included biologically confirmed abstinence and self-report measures of withdrawal, self-efficacy, motivation, affect, and temptations. Participants were smokers motivated to quit (N = 96). They were randomized to 1 of 3 groups: EMA for the week preceding a planned quit date, EMA for the week following the quit date, and no EMA. Abstinence rates did not differ between the groups at Day 7 or at Day 28 postcessation. For the 20 subscales assessed at each of 3 assessment times, there were significant differences between participants with and without EMA experience for 3 subscales at the 1st of 3 assessment times, and significant differences for 3 different subscales at the 3rd assessment time. These differences suggest some reactivity to EMA, although the inconsistent pattern across time indicates that further research is needed to definitively conclude that EMA induces reactivity. 水质pH值在线监测对提高水产品健康养殖至关重要,本文将无线传感器网络与pH值传感器相集成,设计了pH值监测的无线传感器网络系统。为克服pH值测量过程中温度对测量结果的影响,提出了一种pH传感器温度补偿模型,该模型通过pH传感器和PT100铂电阻温度传感器分别测量溶液的pH值和温度,利用最小二乘法对pH值和电压进行线性分析,建立pH传感器的温度补偿模型。实验结果表明,该补偿模型测量精度高,能够实现较精确的pH值在线监测。     

Poetry I: Teaching verse with CAI

The teaching of literature through CAI raises problems of both a linguistic and instructional nature; student involvement and creativity in studying literature, and especially poetry, is difficult to build into a computer-based lesson. We have confronted these difficulties in the lessonPoetry I, which introduces undergraduates to basic concepts of poetic verse in a design using screen display, speech synthesis, and verse processing to maximize interactivity and student involvement.The lesson contains instructional modules which include the student's composition of a limerick. Computational processing of the limerick's text enables the program to offer guidance as the student composes and revises the verse and gains first-hand experience with metrical language. The significant problems inherent in processing verse are addressed by adapting Digital Equipment Corporation's DECTalk speech synthesizer as an engine converting natural language verse text into accessible strings of phonemic symbols. Although the verse processor cannot scan verse, it can interpret DECTalk's symbols reliably enough to successfully stimulate students' thinking about their verse compositions.Preliminary responses to the program have been favorable and demonstrate its effectiveness in involving students more deeply in learning about poetic verse. This suggests that the techniques of verse processing prototyped inPoetry I might be usefully extended to other types of verse and levels of study.W. On the preparation and properties of CuZSM-5 catalysts for NO decomposition

Equilibrium exchange isotherms were determined for the exchange of Cu²⁺ with NaZSM-5 at varying Cu(Ac)₂ concentrations in solutions of constant volume and zeolite weight. At low Cu²⁺ levels the solid scavenged all the copper ions. When copper could be detected in the equilibrated solutions, overexchange was observed. The extent of overexchange was higher at pH 6 than at pH 4. Feedback PID-like fuzzy controller for pH regulatory control near the equivalence point

In this research the use of a feedback PID-like fuzzy controller scheme for pH control is presented to deal with instability problems near the equivalence point in neutralization processes. State space analysis of the titration curves and a fuzzy clustering algorithm based on calculating a measure of potential derived from the square distance of the pH data are complementary applied to define the membership structure and the fuzzy sets of the controller. To test the performance of the controller, both simulated and experimental runs were used. The fuzzy controller was tested for compensating step-change perturbations of propionic acidic flow rates, propionic acid concentration, and buffering conditions. Stationary cycling behavior has been observed for large loads of acidic flow rates. It was found that though the rejection time was strongly dependent on the mean residence time of the liquid solutions, the proposed controller keep the neutralization process operating close to the specified set point of pH = 7.     

β-甘露聚糖酶理化性质与其最适pH的相关性

为了探究影响GH5家族β-甘露聚糖酶最适pH的各种因素,利用该酶的序列信息,构建了基于氨基酸组成的β-甘露聚糖酶理化性质与其最适pH的相关性模型。结果表明:该酶N端氨基酸序列是影响其最适pH的重要因素,在243个理化性质中有17个呈极显著相关,其中7个呈正相关。优化的转移能量参数相关性最高,为0.78:7个正相关的理化性质中,与螺旋相关的理化性质占3个。优化的转移能量参数和螺旋是影响pH稳定性的最重要的因素。所建立的模型为研究该酶酸碱适应性机理提供了一种简单有效的方法。     

基于区域权函数理论的多电极电磁流量计电极设计

基于Shercliff权函数提出区域权函数概念,设计多电极电磁流量计,通过测量管道截面不同位置的弦端电压,计算各区域的轴向平均速度,实现速度分布与体积流量的测量。着重研究了流量计电极设计,选取不锈钢平头方案的多电极电磁流量计,对于阀门下游的非轴对称单相流体积流量测量精度高于±1.0%,倾斜管固—液两相流实验证明:该设计对于两相流非轴对称的速度分布测量具备可靠性。     

基于ARM的三相电表设计

介绍一种以ARM为核心控制处理器的三相智能电表的软、硬件设计。电表集电量参数监测计量与显示为一体,其中电量参数计量设计实现采用专用的测量芯片CS5463。结果表明,所设计电表具有集成度高、功能强、成本低、抗干扰能力强、功耗低等优点,能够满足电能智能化管理的要求。电表通过MAX485芯片与主控制器通信,完成数据远传,最终实现电量数据采集与实时监测等功能,具有很好的应用前景。     

Anaerobic fermentation of xylose by pichia stipitis: The effect of forced cycling of ph

Xylose fermentation by Pichia stipitis was examined using a two-stage batch process. The cells were first grown aerobically on D-xylose (5 g/L), whereafter additional xylose (10 g/L) was added and fermented during anaerobic conditions (T=30°C). The optimum pH value for a fermentation with constant pH was found to be 4.5 (maximum specific ethanol production rate 0.21 g/(g h). Forced square wave cycling of the pH between 4 and 5, and 3.5 and 5.5 (cycle time 30 min) during the fermentation stage resulted in a fermentation rate lower than the maximum rate, but with unchanged ethanol yields.
