Abstract— Nowadays, low‐contrast viewing of LC displays (LCDs) occurs very often, which includes the viewing of mobile LCDs at high ambient illumination and the viewing of LCDs at low‐power mode. These cases result in low‐content visibility and low contrast, leading to an unpleasant viewing experience. In this paper, a technique to improve the perceived contrast and visibility of images at low‐contrast viewing conditions is proposed. The proposed approach enhances image brightness with content and ambient adaptive image brightening and highlights visual parts and boundaries with non‐photorealistic rendering. The proposed technique enables longer battery life for mobile LC devices and makes mobile LC devices viewable at high ambient illumination. It also enables TVs with extreme low‐power consumption and smart‐grid responsive TVs. 相似文献

This paper investigates time‐invariant linear systems subject to input and state constraints. We study discrete‐time systems with full or partial constraints on both input and state. It has been shown earlier that the solvability conditions of stabilization problems are closely related to important concepts such as the right invertibility or non‐right invertibility of the constraints, the location of constraint invariant zeros, and the order of constraint infinite zeros. In this paper, for general time‐invariant linear systems with non‐right invertible constraints, necessary and sufficient conditions are developed under which semi‐global stabilization in the admissible set can be achieved by state feedback. Sufficient conditions are also developed for such a stabilization in the case where measurement feedback is used. Such sufficient conditions are almost necessary. Abstract— The development of a flexible, rewritable, non‐volatile memory (NVM) that is implemented on a standard, low‐temperature a‐Si:H process without additional mask steps is reported. This NVM is a part of a flexible‐display system. Each NVM cell is composed of differentially configured thin‐film‐transistors (TFTs). The cell reads out one of two stable states depending on the relative threshold voltages of the differentially configured TFTs. Information is stored in each cell by increasing the threshold voltage of one differential TFT or the other, utilizing the well‐known electrical‐stress degradation intrinsic to a‐Si:H TFTs. The stored information is retained indefinitely with no applied power. A test array of individually addressable NVM cells has been successfully fabricated and tested on flexible stainless‐steel substrates. Read and write operation, as well as preliminary reliability measurements, are described. The design is readily scalable to large memory arrays. 相似文献

The field of computer vision has experienced rapid growth over the past 50 years. Many computer vision problems have been solved using theory and ideas from algebraic projective geometry. In this paper, we look at a previously unsolved problem from object recognition, namely object recognition when the correspondences between the object and image data are not known a priori. We formulate this problem as a mixed‐integer non‐linear optimization problem in terms of the unknown projection relating the object and image, as well as the unknown assignments of object points and lines to those in the image. The global optimum of this problem recovers the relationship between the object points and lines with those in the image. When certain assumptions are enforced on the allowable projections mapping the object into the image, a proof is provided which permits one to solve the optimization problem via a simple decomposition. We illustrate this decomposition approach on some example scenarios. 相似文献

为了提高背包加密体制的安全性,对基于超递增序列的背包加密算法进行了分析,指出了利用非超递增序列构造背包所存在的难题,提出一种无冲突非超递增序列的构造方法,并给出严格的证明。依据该方法提出了一种基于无冲突非超递增序列的背包公钥加密算法,有效地避免了利用非超递增序列构造背包的过程中出现的难题。理论分析和仿真实验结果表明,该算法具有高的安全性能,在抵抗Shamir攻击和低密度攻击方面都具有良好的性能。 相似文献

Volatility is a key variable in option pricing, trading, and hedging strategies. The purpose of this article is to improve the accuracy of forecasting implied volatility using an extension of genetic programming (GP) by means of dynamic training‐subset selection methods. These methods manipulate the training data in order to improve the out‐of‐sample patterns fitting. When applied with the static subset selection method using a single training data sample, GP could generate forecasting models, which are not adapted to some out‐of‐sample fitness cases. In order to improve the predictive accuracy of generated GP patterns, dynamic subset selection methods are introduced to the GP algorithm allowing a regular change of the training sample during evolution. Four dynamic training‐subset selection methods are proposed based on random, sequential, or adaptive subset selection. The latest approach uses an adaptive subset weight measuring the sample difficulty according to the fitness cases' errors. Using real data from S&P500 index options, these techniques are compared with the static subset selection method. Based on mean squared error total and percentage of non‐fitted observations, results show that the dynamic approach improves the forecasting performance of the generated GP models, especially those obtained from the adaptive‐random training‐subset selection method applied to the whole set of training samples. 相似文献

This paper proposes a new robust adaptive control method for Wiener nonlinear systems with uncertain parameters. The considered Wiener systems are different from the previous ones in the sense that we consider nonlinear block approximation error, process noise, and measurement noise. The parameterization model is obtained based on the inverse of the nonlinear function block. The adaptive control method is derived from a modified criterion function that can overcome non‐minimum phase property of the linear subsystem. The parameter adaptation is performed by using a robust recursive least squares algorithm with a deadzone weighted factor. The control law compensates the model error by incorporating the unmodeled dynamics estimation. Theoretical analysis indicates that the closed‐loop system stability can be guaranteed under mild conditions. Numerical examples including an industrial problem are studied to validate the results.
