The effects of 2 rigorous strategic approaches to reading comprehension for 32 5th-grade students who struggle with reading were investigated. The first approach, TWA (Think before reading, think While reading, think After reading), was taught following explicit self-regulated strategy development instructional procedures (K. R. Harris & S. Graham. 1999). The second approach, reciprocal questioning (RQ), was taught following Cooperative ReQuest procedures developed by A. V. Manzo. U. C. Manzo, and T. H. Estes (2001). Compared with RQ students, TWA students improved significantly (with medium to large effect sizes) on 5 oral reading comprehension measures. There were no significant differences, however, between groups on 3 written comprehension measures, self-efficacy, or motivation. Students were positive about each intervention. Abstract. An Information Systems Methodology is usually presented as a sequential set of tasks — planning, analysis, design and construction — resulting in a new business application. This classical 'forward-engineering' approach must be adapted to changing business needs — business process redesign, quality management, process and systems templates, advanced technologies, application packages, the reuse of existing information systems resources, and rapid delivery cycles. Using the most general concept of a Business Programme, this paper describes a methodological approach incorporating these modern themes that is qualitatively and quantitatively different from the classical model. It provides a framework for the integration of otherwise independent methodologies, and shows how an entire programme can be formulated, planned and executed. Camera calibration is the first step of three-dimensional machine vision. A fundamental parameter to be calibrated is the position of the camera projection center with respect to the image plane. This paper presents a method for the computation of the projection center position using images of a translating rigid object, taken by the camera itself.
Many works have been proposed in literature to solve the calibration problem, but this method has several desirable features. The projection center position is computed directly, independently of all other camera parameters. The dimensions and position of the object used for calibration can be completely unknown.
This method is based on a geometric relation between the projection center and the focus of expansion. The use of this property enables the problem to be split into two parts. First a suitable number of focuses of expansion are computed from the images of the translating object. Then the focuses of expansion are taken as landmarks to build a spatial back triangulation problem, the solution of which gives the projection center position. 相似文献
The paper addresses the design of two-level power system stabilizers using an optimal reduced order model whose state variables are torque angles and speeds. The reduced order model retains their physical meaning and is used to design a two-level linear feedback controller that takes into account the realities and constraints of electrical power systems. The two-level control strategy is used, and a global control signal is generated from the output variables to minimize the effect of interactions. The effectiveness of this controller is evaluated and a multimachine system is given as an example to illustrate the advantages of the proposed method. Responses of the system with a two-level scheme and an optimal reduced order scheme are included for comparative analysis. 相似文献

are linearized by a Newton-method and the linear problems are approximately solved by a spectral projection method (e.g.,
the Ritz-Galerkin or the collocation method). convergence results are derived that show the spectral accuracy of this method.
