Pyrene-1-sulfonic acid sodium salt (PyS) was chemically synthesized, and its polymer film, poly (pyrene-1-sulfonic acid sodium salt) (PPyS), was successfully electropolymerized by direct anodic oxidation both in aqueous and boron trifluoride diethyl etherate (BFEE) systems. The PPyS films showed good redox activity and structural stability even in SA. The impedance spectra of PPyS films indicated that the electron transfer resistance was about 23 Ω. The fluorescent result exhibited that the emission band of PPyS was red-shifed at least 76 nm in comparison with the monomer. Both the impedance and the fluorescent spectra demonstrated that the PPyS films were good semiconducting polymer and excellent blue-light-emitting materials, respectively. 相似文献

Ultra-high molecule weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) loaded with alendronate sodium (ALN), a potential drug to prevent debris-induced osteolysis, was developed in our previous study. This study aims to investigate the wear performance of UHMWPE-ALNs. In this study, wear test, mechanical test, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and contact angle test were applied to characterize the wear performance, mechanical behavior and physical properties of UHMWPE-ALNs. The effect of ALN on the wear performance of UHMWPE-ALNs was investigated by scanning electron microscope (SEM), back scattering electrons (BSE) and energy dispersive X-ray spectrum (EDX). The results of wear test showed that the friction coefficient and volumetric loss of UHMWPE-ALN 0.5 wt.% were comparable with those of UHMWPE. The result of SEM-BSE-EDX revealed that the wear debris detached easily from the ALN-agglomerated regions, which was mainly responsible for the decrease of wear resistance of UHMWPE-ALN 1.0 wt.%. The loaded ALN resulted in the increase of hydrophilicity of UHMWPE-ALNs. The decrease of toughness and crystallinity of UHMWPE-ALN 1.0 wt.% attributed to the non-uniform distribution of ALN. The UHMWPE-ALN 0.5 wt.%, in which no ALN agglomeration was observed, possessed approving mechanical properties and wear performance, might have potential clinical application to prevent the debris-induced osteolysis in prosthetic joints. 相似文献

The aim of this study was to determine whether low-density lipoprotein (LDL)-bound epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) attenuates LDL oxidation and glycation under high-glucose (HG) conditions mimicking diabetes. Pooled plasma was preincubated with EGCG for three hours, followed by sequential ultracentrifugation and extensive dialysis to isolate LDL. The kinetics of α-tocopherol and EGCG consumption in LDL were measured by a solid-phase extraction system with HPLC-diode array detection (HPLC-DAD) upon oxidation. EGCG enrichment effectively increased the resistance of LDL to oxidation caused by HG/Cu2+. A dose-dependent inhibition of HG-mediated long-term glycation of LDL was also observed by LDL-bound EGCG. Data from HPLC-DAD demonstrated that EGCG was able to bind lipoproteins and to facilitate the antioxidant and antiglycation properties of LDL. This study suggests that loading plasma with EGCG is an efficient way to increase the content of this phytochemical in LDL, which may imply favourable in vivo activity of EGCG in diabetes. 相似文献

Kiwifruit is one of the most popular fruits worldwide, and it has various biological properties, including antioxidant, anti-allergic, and cardiovascular protective effects. The peel of kiwifruit, which is a by-product of processing, is a good source of flavonoids; however, its bioactivity has not been widely investigated. In this study, we evaluated the hypnotic effects of green (GRPE, Actinidia deliciosa) and gold (GOPE, Actinidia chinensis) kiwifruit peel ethanol extracts and their solvent fractions, and the possible underlying mechanisms. Oral GRPE and GOPE administration (125–1000 mg/kg) produced a dose-dependent decrease in sleep latency and an increase in sleep duration in pentobarbital-treated mice. Among three different solvent fractions of GRPE and GOPE, ethyl acetate (EA) fractions had the greatest effect on sleep duration at 250 mg/kg. The total flavonoid contents of solvent fractions were proportional to sleep duration. Like diazepam (a GABAA–benzodiazepine (BZD) receptor agonist), the hypnotic effects of GRPE, GOPE, and their EA fractions were fully inhibited by flumazenil (a GABAA–BZD receptor antagonist). These results suggest that potentiation effects of GRPE and GOPE on pentobarbital-induced sleep in mice may be modulated by a GABAergic mechanism. 相似文献
