Alkaline aluminum phosphate glasses (NMAP) with excellent chemical durability for thermal ion-exchanged optical waveguide have been designed and investigated. The transition temperature Tg (470 °C) is higher than the ion-exchange temperature (390 °C), which is favorable to sustain the stability of the glass structure for planar waveguide fabrication. The effective diffusion coefficient De of K+–Na+ ion exchange in NMAP glasses is 0.110 μm2/min, indicating that ion exchange can be achieved efficiently in the optical glasses. Single-mode channel waveguide has been fabricated on Er3+/Yb3+ doped NMAP glass substrate by standard micro-fabrication and K+–Na+ ion exchange. The mode field diameter is 9.6 μm in the horizontal direction and 6.0 μm in the vertical direction, respectively, indicating an excellent overlap with a standard single-mode fiber. Judd–Ofelt intensity parameter Ω2 is 5.47 × 10−20 cm2, implying a strong asymmetrical and covalent environment around Er3+ in the optical glasses. The full width at half maximum and maximum stimulated emission cross section of the 4I13/2  4I15/2 are 30 nm and 6.80 × 10−21 cm2, respectively, demonstrating that the phosphate glasses are potential glass candidates in developing compact optoelectronic devices. Pr3+, Tm3+ and Ho3+ doped NMAP glasses are promising candidates to fabricate waveguide amplifiers and lasers operating at special telecommunication windows.  相似文献

Cork is known to exhibit low permeability to liquids and gases, imputrescibility and good mechanical properties, with a remarkable elasticity. These properties make this material particularly interesting for sealing wine. We focused in this study on the compression properties of cork along the radial and tangential direction at 25 °C under atmospheric pressure when cork is stored in various relative humidity environments, from 0% to 100%.The direction of compression significantly affected the Young’s modulus, with a higher value for the radial direction. This corresponds to the orientation of the lenticels which reinforce the rigidity of the material when the strain is applied along their growth direction. More surprising is the effect of water sorption in cork on its mechanical property. Both radial and tangential directions exhibit the same behavior when the relative humidity is increasing. First the Young’s modulus is constant up to 50% relative humidity (RH) with mean values around 37 MPa and 22 MPa for radial and tangential directions, respectively. Then, above this point, the increase in water content leads to a decrease in material rigidity which is attributed to water clusters formations. For high moisture contents, the anisotropy of cork is reduced: Young’s moduli are of 10.5 MPa and 6.6 MPa for radial and tangential orientations, respectively.Differential scanning calorimetry and dynamic mechanical thermal analysis (DMTA) allowed to identify a glass transition temperature (Tg) in cork over a broad range of temperatures, depending on the moisture content and giving a Tg-midpoint from −8 °C to 3 °C. Moreover, a secondary transition was observed by DMTA at approximately −80 °C, for 50% RH.  相似文献

Nowadays, ceramic tile are manufactured at zero emissions permitting to recycle all by-products and part of residues derived from depuration treatments (exhausted lime, glazing sludge and polishing sludge). In addition to this environmentally friendly tendency, in the last years an increasing number of scientific studies demonstrated the feasibility to use alternative raw materials in substitution of different component of the ternary clay-feldspar-quartz system. In the first part of the paper is reported the state of the art of industrial waste recycling in the ceramic sector, with the focus on review studies related to both ceramic tiles and bricks..In the second part of the work are reported two case studies conducted by the authors with the aim to formulate ceramic bodies using alternative raw materials. New tailored compositions were obtained replacing clays, flux and/or inert compounds (higher than 60 wt%) by scraps from packaging waste glass in tiles, and cathode ray tube glasses and packaging waste glass up to 20 wt% in the brick compositions.  相似文献

In this work a 19.58Li2O·11.10ZrO2·69.32SiO2 (mol%) glass–ceramic matrix was prepared and milled in order to determine its coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) and to study how it is influenced by the addition of nanosized Al2O3 particles (1–5 vol%) and submicrometric Al2O3 particles (5 vol%). Comminution studies from the LZS parent glass frit showed that a powder with an adequate particle size (3.5 µm) is achieved after 120 min of dry milling followed by a second step of 60 h wet milling. The obtained LZS glass–ceramic samples (fired at 900 °C/30 min) showed an average relative density of ∼98% with zirconium silicate and lithium disilicate as main crystalline phases. Prepared composites with 1, 2.5 and 5 vol% of nanosized Al2O3 and 5 vol% submicrometric Al2O3 showed average relative densities varying from 97% to 94% as the alumina content increased. The formation of β-spodumene in the obtained composites leads to reduce the CTEs, whose values ranged from 9.5 to 4.4×10−6 °C−1. Composites with 5% nanosized alumina showed a CTE lower than that of the equivalent formulation with submicrometric alumina.  相似文献

The influences of sintering temperature and holding time on porosity and shrinkage of glass tubes have been studied by optical microscope. It is evident that there exists three stages for the sintering process of glass. At the first stage, both increasing temperature and prolonging the holding time contribute to lowering the porosity and to intensifying the shrinkage greatly. At the second stage, the glass further densifies and the voids among particles become smaller and less. Finally, at the third stage the shrinkage rate almost keeps unchanged to sintering temperature and holding time.  相似文献

研究了相容剂马来酸酐接枝苯乙烯-乙烯/丁烯-苯乙烯(SEBS-g-MAH)、马来酸酐接枝聚丙烯(PP-gMAH)、苯乙烯-乙烯/丁烯-苯乙烯(SEBS)以及三者的复配对玻纤增强聚苯醚(PPE)/PP共混物的力学性能、热性能及加工性能的影响,并用扫描电子显微镜观察了共混体系的形态结构。结果表明,PP-g-MAH与SEBS复配使用可以有效地改善PPE/PP/玻璃纤维共混体系的相容性,提高了复合材料的力学性能和加工性能,但复配相容剂的添加量不宜过大,当其质量分数为8%时,复合材料的综合性能最为优异。  相似文献

In this paper, dielectric and calorimetric studies of the small-molecule glass former allyl acetoacetate monomers as well as its newly synthetized homopolymer and copolymers with different styrene composition were performed in both the liquid and glassy states. The molecular dynamics studies by the broadband dielectric spectroscopy and the stochastic temperature modulated differential scanning calorimetry enabled us to explore relaxation processes of examined materials in the wide frequency range. We found that the copolymers reveal two co-existing glass transitions characterized by the glass transition temperatures, which are very close to those of the corresponding homopolymers. These results suggest that the copolymers exhibited some sequences of acetoacetate units with a microphase-separated morphology in agreement with the value of reactivity ratio previously determined. We investigated effects of copolymerization compositions on the glass transition temperature, the isobaric fragility index, the dielectric and calorimetric intensity, and the dynamic heterogeneity on the glass transitions of the materials.  相似文献

The aim of the present work was to develop two products from blackberry juice by freeze and spray drying with potential use as food colorants or healthy ingredients. A characterization of the physical and functional properties of the powdered juices was done. Maltodextrin or a mixture of trehalose and maltodextrin were assessed as carrier matrices. Freeze-dried, maltodextrin-containing powders presented the best retention of bioactive compounds and antiradical activity; however, they showed a narrow relative humidity range for storage in the glassy state. Spray-dried powders showed better physical properties, bearing higher glass transition temperature and lower molecular mobility than freeze-dried formulations.  相似文献

The chemical composition of low temperature cofired ceramics (LTCC) allows to locally embed air into sintered substrates by a selective wet chemical etch process. Therefore, LTCC substrate with areas of low permittivity can be created without material combination. The presented graphical method of material component contrast images enables the evaluation of their most important material properties which are their component distribution, their porosification gradient and their residual bearing surface. The graphical method, including focused ion beam and scanning electron microscopy analyses, is applied to different commercially available LTCC types having two porosification states each. Derived mathematical models, which are suitable for finite element method implementation, allow the characterisation of the effective permittivity reduction while keeping a maximum residual surface area for, e.g., metallisation purposes. The shape of the optimum material distribution function features an ‘air pocket’ of small width and a depth being dependent on the application specific operating frequency.  相似文献

Homogeneous transparent optical glass–ceramics precipitated with unique nonlinear crystals are promising materials for photonic applications. We have utilized heat treatment method to prepare transparent ZnO–Bi2O3–B2O3 glass–ceramic containing Bi2ZnB2O7 nonlinear nanocrystals. A large third-order nonlinear susceptibility χ(3) of glass–ceramic is measured by Z-scan technique, which mainly attributed to unique [BiO6] and [B2O5] units in Bi2ZnB2O7 crystal structure and the quantum size effect of nanoparticles. The discovery is of great potential in the application of nonlinear optical integrated devices.  相似文献
