The Krawczyk and the Hansen-Sengupta interval operators are closely related to the interval Newton operator. These interval
operators can be used as existence tests to prove existence of solutions for systems of equations. It is well known that the
Krawczyk operator existence test is less powerful that the Hansen-Sengupta operator existence test, the latter being less
powerful than the interval Newton operator existence test. In 2004, Frommer et al. proposed an existence test based on the
Poincaré-Miranda theorem and proved that it is more powerful than the Krawczyk existence test. In this paper, we complete
the classification of these four existence tests showing that, in practice, the Hansen-Sengupta existence test is actually

We used 2‐D DIGE to analyze the early response of NB‐4 cells, a human promyelotic leukemia cell line, exposed to lethal toxin from Bacillus anthracis at the proteome level. After a 2 h exposure, cells were still viable and 43% of spots (n = 1042) showed a significant change in protein level. We identified 59 spots whose expression had changed significantly, and these reflected cytoskeleton damage, mitochondrial lysis and endoplasmic reticulum stress. Actin filament assembly was disrupted as evidenced by an increase in both actin subunits and phosphorylated cofilin, whilst levels of tropomyosin, tropomodulin and actin related protein 2/3 complex subunit decreased. Lower levels of ATP synthase subunits and mitochondrial inner membrane protein were identified as markers of mitochondrial lysis. Levels of various stress response proteins rose and, uniquely, levels of Ca2+ binding proteins such as translationally controlled tumor protein rose and hippocalcin‐like protein 1 decreased. This response may have mitigated effects brought about by mitochondrial lysis and endoplasmic reticulum stress, and delayed or prevented apoptosis in NB‐4 cells. These results resemble findings of similar proteomics studies in murine macrophages, although quantitative differences were observed. 相似文献

data. We present a fast approximate algorithm for the evaluation of linear combinations of radial functions on the sphere

Distributional and asymptotic results on the moment of Rand's Ck statistic were derived by DuBien and Warde [1981. Some distributional results concerning a comparative statistic used in cluster analysis. ASA Proceedings of the Social Statistics Section, 309–313.]. Based on those results, a method to predict the number of clusters is suggested by applying various agglomerative clustering algorithms. In the procedure, the methods using different indexes are examined and compared based on the concept of agreement (or, disagreement) between clusterings generated by different clustering algorithms on the set of data.
