Known for its capability to architect tailored structures for the scaling of active materials in energy storage devices that cater for future electronics having stringent requirements on areal performance, 3D printing is receiving serious attention. However, lingering challenges originating from the notorious interfacial issue and weak component interaction restrain current devices from making a breakthrough in deliverable capacity and structural flexibility. In this work, the printed electrode delivers a record-breaking electrical double layer (EDL) areal capacitance of 27.1 F cm−2 under an extremely large loading density of 134 mg cm−2. This translates to a deliverable record-high EDL energy density of 1.26 mWh cm−2 for device performance, which even rivals the highest value reported from highly loaded pseudocapacitors. The bespoke devices are enabled by a strategically formulated 3D printable ink that initiates efficient autonomous room-temperature self-healing and strong interplay between constituting ink components. These contribute to interlayer coalescing for eliminated interlayer resistance for a solid electrochemical performance and printed electrodes of great mechanical compliance. By tapping into the huge potential of 3D printing, this work lays a solid foundation on which flexible devices with customized geometry, functionality, and outstanding performance for a broad range of applications can be readily realized. 相似文献

Architecture compliance checking (ACC) is an approach to verify conformance of implemented program code to high‐level models of architectural design. Static ACC focuses on the modular software architecture and on the existence of rule violating dependencies between modules. Accurate tool support is essential for effective and efficient ACC. This paper presents a study on the accuracy of ACC tools regarding dependency analysis and violation reporting. Ten tools were tested and compared by means of a custom‐made benchmark. The Java code of the benchmark testware contains 34 different types of dependencies, which are based on an inventory of dependency types in object oriented program code. In a second test, the code of open source system FreeMind was used to compare the 10 tools on the number of reported rule violating dependencies and the exactness of the dependency and violation messages. On the average, 77% of the dependencies in our custom‐made test software were reported, while 72% of the dependencies within a module of FreeMind were reported. The results show that all tools in the test could improve the accuracy of the reported dependencies and violations, though large differences between the 10 tools were observed. We have identified 10 hard‐to‐detect types of dependencies and four challenges in dependency detection. The relevance of our findings is substantiated by means of a frequency analysis of the hard‐to‐detect types of dependencies in five open source systems. © 2016 The Authors. AbstractLower limb exoskeletons provide a promising approach to allow disabled people to walk again in the future. Designing such exoskeletons and tuning the required actuators is challenging, since the full dynamics of the combined human-exoskeleton system have to be taken into account. In particular, it is important to not only consider nominal walking motions but also extreme situations such as the recovery from large perturbations. In this paper, we present an approach based on push recovery experiments while walking, multibody system models, and least-squares optimal control to analyze the required torques to be generated by the exoskeleton, assuming that the human provides no torque. We consider seven different trials with varying push locations and push magnitudes applied on the back of the subject. In a first study, we investigate the dependency of these total joint torques on the exoskeleton mass – and compare the torques required for a human without exoskeleton to the ones for the human with two different exoskeleton configurations. In a second study, we investigate how optimally chosen passive spring-damper elements can support the required torques in the exoskeleton joints. It can be shown that the active torques can be reduced significantly in the different joints and cases. 相似文献

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of a single tensile overload on subsequent fatigue crack growth in a 316L stainless steel. Fatigue tests were conducted under the plane stress condition, and further supplemented with compliance measurements and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) observations. Effects of a tensile overload, e.g. initial acceleration and subsequent retardation of fatigue crack growth, were explained and quantified by FESEM and compliance measurements. The FESEM observations suggest that the initial crack growth acceleration stems from void and quasi-cleavage fracture within the fatigue damage zone in the vicinity of the crack tip. Systematic compliance measurements taken during fatigue crack growth suggest that the overall crack growth retardation is related to strain hardening and residual compressive stress produced by the plastic deformation associated with the tensile overload. 相似文献

If all components in a nanoindentation system are well calibrated and a reference material has unique hardness, H and reduced modulus, Er independent of the indentation depths, the load, L and the penetration depth, h in the indentation loading curve of the reference material can be correlated by L=Kh2. Here the constant K is expressed by H, Er and indenter geometry constants. By using H and Er of a fused silica and the Berkovich geometry, an analytical expression for the indentation loading curve could be derived. To compare with this analytical loading curve, experimental indentation data were measured with two commercial nanoindenters. The experimental loading curves shifted leftward or rightward from the analytical loading curve and this depth deviation was attributed to improper calibration of the nanoindenters. Quantitative calibrations of frame compliance and indenter bluntness were tried for the raw nanoindentation data and this resulted in consistent nanoindentation data regardless of the used nanoindenters. 相似文献

The problems arising as a result of aging aircraft, rail and civil infrastructure have focused attention on tools for predicting the growth of cracks from small naturally occurring material discontinuities. To this end, the present paper discusses on the difference between the analysis tools needed for ab initio design and sustainment, modelling of cracks that grow from small naturally occurring material discontinuities and ways to determine the short crack da/dN versus ΔK data from long crack American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) tests. It also discusses how existing equations can be used to predict short crack growth and how to account for the variations seen in crack growth histories. Code compliance checking plays a critical role that identifies substandard designs according to regulatory documents and promises the accuracy of the designs before construction. However, the traditional code compliance checking process relies heavily on human work. To help the users better understand the checking process, this study proposes a gray-box checking technique and a BIM-based (Building Information Modeling) automated code compliance checking methodology that leverages ontology. The proposed approach contains a code ontology, a designed model ontology, a merged ontology, a code compliance checking ontology, a set of mapping rules, and a set of checking rules. During the checking process, the ontologies provide knowledge bases, and the rules provide necessary logic. A five-step roadmap is proposed for code ontology development for domain experts. For the time being, pre-processing is applied to create the designed model ontology to achieve time saving. Next, an ontology mapping procedure between the code and the designed model ontology is executed to obtain the merged ontology. In the ontology mapping procedure, the mapping rules aim to mitigate the semantic ambiguity between design information and regulatory information and enrich building information's semantics. Subsequently, rule-based reasoning is applied based on the checking rules and the merged ontology for checking reports generation. Finally, according to Chinese building codes, an automated code compliance checking platform is implemented for real construction projects to validate the proposed methodology. 相似文献

An instrument has been developed to determine the adhesive fracture energy as a function of the most important parameters such as temperature, contact time etc. and to study the stress-strain behaviour during bond separation. Additionally, the deformation processes during debonding were observed by high speed photography. Investigations of two high molecular weight polymers, polyisobutylene (PIB) and polyethylhexylacrylate (PEHA), showed two different types of bond separation: “brittle” behaviour with low adhesive failure energy for PIB and the formation and deformation of fibrillar structures for PEHA leading to much higher strains at break and adhesive failure energies. It follows from mechanical measurements that both polymers differ mainly by their entanglement networks. The much longer entanglement spacing for PEHA leads to the formation of fibrillar structures which, in accordance with a theory of Good, seem to be the reason for strong adhesion. 相似文献
