The SFSM is an attractive numerical technique for the buckling analysis of folded-plate structures where general loading regimes and boundary conditions need to be modelled. In implementing splines as interpolation functions in the longitudinal direction of the strip, amended splines have been used conventionally to model the variety of end conditions that may occur. These amended splines are fairly difficult to implement, particularly so if internal restraints are also to be specified. A simple technique for replacing the specification of dedicated amended splines is presented in this paper. The method is then employed to study the local buckling of flat plates under longitudinally and transversely varying compression and bending with different boundary conditions at the ends. 相似文献

A framework is a high‐level solution for the reuse of software pieces, a step forward in simple library‐based reuse, that allows the sharing of not only common functions but also the generic logic of a domain application. It also ensures a better level of quality for the final product, given the fact that an important fraction of the application is already found within the framework and has therefore already been tested. This case study takes the systematic generation of hot‐spot subsystems approach as a reference point to describe the underlying concepts in the design of a framework for the development of 2D action videogames for low‐performance machines. The main goal of this paper is to show the applicability of framework‐based reuse to videogames. Both standard and framework‐based game implementations are compared and the results are analysed. Special attention is paid to the (potential) benefits that the use of frameworks brings to the fulfillment of maintenance tasks along the game's life cycle, a stage that normally consumes most resources in software projects. At the end of the paper, based on the implementation results, this study shows the predicted conditions under which building a framework is cost effective for the development of videogames similar to the ones from the studied domain. Integrated collector storage (ICS) systems offer a solution to reduce the height of the conventional flat-plate thermosiphon type collectors. The initial system developed had an aperture area of 1.77 m2, a receiver diameter of 200 mm, a concentration ratio of 1.47 and total water storage volume of 65 litres. The main disadvantage of the ICS systems comes from their design, i.e., because the collector absorber is also the storage cylinder it is not possible to insulate it properly and therefore there are significant losses during the night. The main cause of these losses is the convection currents created during the night, circulating around the top glass cover. Another disadvantage of the system is its draw-off characteristics. Because the water cylinder/absorber is horizontal there is very little stratification of the water in the cylinder. It is suggested that a primary 110 mm diameter cylinder is introduced at the space between the main cylinder and the glass. The cold water is introduced directly to the primary cylinder, which feeds the main cylinder. With this modification the convection currents are drastically reduced due to the obstruction created by the primary vessel, thus reducing the night thermal losses. Also as the cold water is introduced first to the primary cylinder there is no direct mixing of the two streams thus greatly improving the system draw-off characteristics.
