Wireless communication in wireless mesh networks (WMNs), like other types of wireless networks, is vulnerable to many malicious activities such as eavesdropping. As one of the fundamental security technologies, pairwise key establishment has been widely studied to secure wireless communication. In this paper, we propose a new matrix-based pairwise key establishment scheme for mesh clients in WMNs. A fact in WMNs is that mesh routers are more powerful than mesh clients, in both communication and storage. Motivated by this fact, expensive operations can be delegated to mesh routers to alleviate the overhead of mesh clients when establishing pairwise keys between them. Compared with other matrix-based schemes, our scheme has significant advantages: any two mesh clients can directly establish pairwise keys while communication and storage costs of mesh clients are significantly reduced. 相似文献

In this paper, the authors report on the development and initial psychometric evaluation of the Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Working Alliance Self-Efficacy Scales (LGB-WASES) with data collected from two studies and 534 counseling trainees. Exploratory factor analysis results yielded a 32-item scale with a three-factor model (a) Emotional Bond, (b) Establishing Tasks, and (c) Setting Goals. LGB-WASES scores were internally consistent and remained stable over a 3-week period. Construct validity evidence suggests the LGB-WASES scores were (a) positively related to general perceptions of counseling self-efficacy and multicultural counseling competency, (b) negatively related to attitudes toward lesbians and gay men, and (d) unrelated to social desirability. The familiar question, "Who is the client?" has become a distraction from more important ethical questions. By requiring a singular answer, the question obscures the fact that psychologists have ethical obligations toward every party in a case, no matter how many or how named. Making the question plural is not a sufficient solution, because identifying the client(s) should not be treated as an end in itself; it is simply a means of clarifying the nature of the relationship(s) and understanding the accompanying ethical obligations. After exploring the underlying implications for informed consent, confidentiality, and other ethical duties, the author suggests that psychologists adopt an alternative ethical question: "What are my ethical responsibilities to each of the parties in this case?" Finally, a case example illustrates the fact that the old question has several different meanings (and therefore different answers), depending upon whether it is asked as an ethical, clinical, legal, or reimbursement question. Jungian family sandplay (JFS) with bereaved clients, especially young children, may assist family members in communicating their intrapersonal world of grief through symbolic methods. Specifically, play therapists using JFS provide the opportunity for children to share feelings with caretakers that may be developmentally difficult to verbalize. With JFS, children use nonthreatening images to portray feelings and struggles associated with the death of a loved one. The focus of this article is the importance of including caretakers and family members in bereaved children’s sandplay. In addition, we include a clinical vignette to illuminate the potential benefits of incorporating JFS with bereaved children. We conclude with implications for play therapists. Because current federal law prohibits gay, lesbian, and bisexual (GLB) persons from serving openly in the military, the 65,000 GLB men and women estimated to currently serve in the armed forces face unique occupational stressors and a heightened need for supportive services. Psychologists in military settings face numerous obstacles in efforts to provide ethical and efficacious clinical services to GLB service members. The authors highlight common clinical problems and referral issues for GLB persons in military settings, as well as primary ethical and administrative problems for the psychologists who treat them. The authors conclude with several recommendations for enhancing appropriate treatment while minimizing harm to GLB clients in the military. Preserving one’s uniquely customized computing environment as one moves to different locations is an enduring challenge in mobile computing. We examine why this capability is valued so highly, and what makes it so difficult to achieve for personal computing applications. We describe a new mechanism called Internet Suspend/Resume (ISR) that overcomes many of the limitations of previous approaches to realizing this capability. ISR enables a hands-free approach to mobile computing that appears well suited to future pervasive computing environments in which commodity hardware may be widely deployed for transient use. We show that ISR can be implemented by layering virtual machine technology on distributed file system technology. We also report on measurements from a prototype that confirm that ISR is already usable today for some common usage scenarios. 相似文献

Comments on "Psychotherapy, classism, and the poor: Conspicuous by their absence" by Laura Smith (see record 2005-11834-002). This article might have improved Smith's argument that prejudice and oppression (classism) are significant obstacles preventing the poor from receiving psychological services if she had presented evidence to substantiate her claim that "psychology has fallen short in its services" (p. 687) to the poor in the first place. In fact, there is reason to believe that psychotherapists are meeting the mental health needs of the poor in some areas of the country. In Maine, the poor are eligible for Medicaid, which allows for mental health benefits that are more generous in some cases than those provided by private insurance. In addition, the poor in southern Maine may take advantage of programs that pay for mental health services in ways that the middle class cannot. Many psychologists in Maine do provide mental health services to the poor. This is not to say that barriers do not exist or that the mental health needs of the poor are being met. However, I think it is fair to challenge the premise of Smith's (2005) article that the poor either are not being served or are being disproportionately served compared with the nonpoor. Comments on "Psychotherapy, classism, and the poor: Conspicuous by their absence" by Laura Smith (see record 2005-11834-002). Smith is to be commended for identifying a critical missing area in applied psychology: the inclusion of people who are poor into training, education, research, and practice. But in advocating for psychology to be inclusive, Smith used conceptualizations of social class and classism that do not address the complexity of social class and classism in psychology. First, the language Smith used to discuss social class was atheoretical. She used the terms social class, class, social status, the poor, and poverty to address social class as a construct, and she did not operationalize her terms. The second limitation in Smith's article was her aggregating and labeling of people who are poor. By categorizing people in this situation as "poor people" rather than as "people who are poor," Smith made "poor people" a dispositional attribute. Finally, Smith's conceptualization of classism does not consider the networks of power (Liu & Pope-Davis, 2003b) that are integral in maintaining and perpetuating inequality and marginalization. Because power is complex, conceptualizations of oppression and marginalization should be as well. Whether and how civil society should recognize committed relationships between same-sex partners has become a prominent, often divisive, policy issue. The present article reviews relevant behavioral and social science research to assess the validity of key factual claims in this debate. The data indicate that same-sex and heterosexual relationships do not differ in their essential psychosocial dimensions; that a parent's sexual orientation is unrelated to her or his ability to provide a healthy and nurturing family environment; and that marriage bestows substantial psychological, social, and health benefits. It is concluded that same-sex couples and their children are likely to benefit in numerous ways from legal recognition of their families, and providing such recognition through marriage will bestow greater benefit than civil unions or domestic partnerships. With the ascension of the Internet as an information resource, Web sites are likely to be the first exposure applicants have to specific programs. The authors evaluated professional psychology program Web sites for ethnic and sexual orientation minority content, discovering that diversity content of Web sites was considerably less than in previously examined paper application materials. Clinical psychology programs were more likely to state a commitment to diversity training while counseling psychology programs were more likely to state a diversity minor/track. School psychology programs had the lowest diversity content on their Web pages. This article explores how graduate psychology program Web sites communicate multicultural information and offers recommendations on using the World Wide Web as a cost-effective tool to attract a diverse student body.
