Mastication of gutta percha (trans-polyisoprene) resulted in the selective scission of molecules, producing a narrower distribution of lower molecular weights. The mechanical properties of the samples also underwent a significant change due to mastication. The greater the content of incompatible substances (salts and oxides) in commercial gutta percha. the more substantial were these effects. The atmosphere (air, N2, O2) in which the experiments were conducted yielded significantly different results. The decrease in molecular weight was far greater in an O2 atmosphere than under a current of nitrogen or air, owing to the combination of double bonds with O2. 相似文献

Ochratoxin A (OTA) is a secondary metabolite produced by several species of Aspergillus and Penicillium; among them Aspergillus ochraceus and Penicillium verrucosum are two ochratoxigenic species capable of growing in different climates and thus contamination of food crops with OTA can occur worldwide. OTA can be found in a wide range of foods such as cereals, coffee, cocoa, spices, beer, wine, dried vine fruit, grapes and meat products. OTA is toxic to animals, it presents neurotoxic, immunotoxic and nephrotoxic effects. It has been implicated in a human kidney disorder known as Balkan Endemic Nephropathy. This review focuses on the ecophysiology of ochratoxin-producing Aspergillus ochraceus and Penicillium verrucosum, the effect of environmental factors on their germination, mycelial growth, and OTA production. Knowledge of environmental conditions required for sucessive stages of fungal development represent the first step towards preventing mycotoxin formation. Predictive models for different stages of fungal development are presented, which allow prediction of the time before spoilage as a function of the abiotic factors. Finally, the implications of these studies in management of barley, coffee and grapes are described. This can help to identify the critical control points in their production, storage and distribution processes. 相似文献

Plastisols, which are a blend of poly(vinyl chloride) resin and a plasticizer (DEHP), were used as a toughening agent of a resol resin in order to improve the mechanical properties. It was not possible to formulate resol blends by adding more than 10 % of plastisol owing to a lack of apparent homogeneity in the systems, which also showed many air bubbles. The relationship between dynamic mechanical, mechanical and thermal properties and the amount of plastisol added was studied. It was determined from the infrared spectroscopy and dynamic mechanical results that the resol–plastisol blends seem to be formed by a reaction between the phenol and PVC giving a higher crosslinked structure. An improvement in the thermal resistance of the blends at lower temperatures was observed with an increase in the percentage of plastisol. Flexural analysis showed the elastic behaviour of the systems. However, it was not possible to observe the effect of the plasticizer (DEHP) owing to the low quantity of plastisol that was added to the resol. Copyright © 2004 Society of Chemical Industry 相似文献

Abstract. The concepts of time invariance, stationarity, non-stationarity and immemorial time are considered for state space models (SSMs). Necessary and sufficient conditions for stationarity are given and connected with standard conditions. Expressions are given for the unconditional mean and covariance matrix of the state of a time-immemorial SSM. BACKGROUND: Three groups of amino acids were previously characterized based on their ability to be assimilated as carbon source by Penicillium camembertii. To describe the diauxic growth recorded on glucose and amino acids from the second group, such as arginine, an unstructured model was previously developed, based on the sequential consumption of both carbon substrates, glucose, followed after its exhaustion, by arginine. The model was modified to describe also the behaviour recorded during growth on other amino acids. RESULTS: The growth model involved the carbon substrate consumption (Verlhust model) and the biomass on carbon substrate yield. Glucose was therefore considered during P. camembertii growth on nitrogen source amino acids (lysine—first group); and amino acid consumption was considered during growth on carbon source amino acids (glutamate—third group), with glucose being dissimilated only for energy supply. The excess nitrogen from amino acids was released as ammonium; the linking of this production to growth was found to increase with the ability of the amino acid to be assimilated as carbon source by P. camembertii. CONCLUSION: The various metabolic behaviours recorded during P. camembertii growth on amino acids, in the presence of a primary carbon source such as glucose, were proved to be satisfactorily described by the model, showing the robustness of the model. Attempts of obtaining of polyurethane foams using polyetherols with 1,3‐pyrimidine ring (obtained in reactions of 6‐aminouracil with oxiranes) are reported.
