流行音乐主旋律提取技术综述

旋律是最重要的音乐要素之一,多应用于音乐内容分析、音乐创作、音乐教育、抄袭检测等方面。主旋律提取旨在从一段音乐中自动估计对应于主旋律单音音符序列的音高或基频。流行音乐一般属于复杂的多音音乐,因此主旋律提取面临着许多挑战。综述了主旋律提取的研究背景,将主旋律提取的典型方法分别从基于音高显著度、基于声源分离以及其他方法3个类别进行了阐述,最后介绍了主旋律提取的评价指标以及研究进展。     

公共环境下的混合型音乐推荐系统的关键技术研究

随着计算机网络和多媒体技术的迅速普及,数字音乐消费已经成为人们日常生活中的常见活动,音乐推荐系统也因此成为了推荐系统和电子商务领域的一大研究热点。在对现有音乐推荐系统调研的基础上,重点研究公共环境下的混合型音乐推荐系统的设计和实现;将音乐特征和语境信息相结合,提出了一种新颖的混合型音乐推荐算法。为保证实际应用环境中音乐消费行为的灵活性,系统实现了投票和DJ两种推荐模式。该系统在实验室及实地测试中均取得了较高的用户满意度。

Looking Beyond Content: Skill Development for Engineers

Current concerns over reforming engineering education have focused attention on helping students develop skills and an adaptive expertise. Phenomenological guidelines for instruction along these lines can be understood as arising out of an emerging theory of thinking and learning built on results in the neural, cognitive, and behavioral sciences. We outline this framework and consider some of its implications, such as developing a more detailed understanding of the specific skill of using mathematics in modeling physical situations. This approach provides theoretical underpinnings for some best‐practice instructional methods designed to help students develop this skill and provides guidance for further research in the area.

Longitudinal hit ratios of classical composers: Reconciling "Darwinian" and expertise acquisition perspectives on lifespan creativity.

What are the prospects for meaningful learning in high-level creativity? An expertise acquisition view of creativity is optimistic about longitudinal improvement; a "Darwinian" view, emphasizing chance, is not. To address this issue, the complete outputs of 65 eminent composers (15,657 works) were tabulated and weighted; each work's masterpiece status was operationalized by citation and recording count measures. Works were assigned to 5-year age intervals, synchronized across composers by age at 1st masterwork. Hit ratio (masterwork-level music divided by total output) was calculated for each interval for each composer. The overall hit ratio trajectory was a single-peaked function, with a maximum around age 50. Reliable age effects held even during composers' mature periods, inconsistent with the chance view and more consistent--although not entirely so--with the expertise acquisition view. Several variables predicted individual differences in hit ratio trajectories; most notably, composers who wrote their best works later in their careers showed stronger agewise increases in hit ratio during their mature periods, even when best works were removed from the trajectories. Implications and prospects for reconciling the expertise and chance views, via a typology of conceptualist versus experimentalist creators, are discussed. A music-based HIV prevention intervention for urban adolescents.

Objective: This research examines the process of conducting and evaluating a music-based HIV prevention intervention among urban adolescents, and is informed by the information, motivation, behavioral skills (IMB) model. Design: Musically talented opinion leaders were recruited to write, record, and distribute HIV prevention themed music to their peers to increase HIV prevention motivation, behavioral skills, and behaviors. In this 3-month field experiment, participants were 306 students enrolled in health classes at each of three large multiracial urban high schools (one treatment school; two control schools). Main Outcome Measures: Measures of HIV prevention information, motivation, behavioral skills, and behaviors, both pre- and postintervention. Results and Conclusion: Results indicate that the intervention influenced several aspects of HIV prevention motivation, behavioral skills, and condom use and HIV testing behaviors. This research demonstrates that the incorporation of music into HIV prevention interventions for adolescents has the potential to be effective.
