A cross‐cultural colour‐naming study. Part III—A colour‐naming model

A colour‐naming model was developed to categorize volumes for each of the 11 basic names in CIELAB colour space. This was tested with three different sets of data for two languages (English and Mandarin), derived from extensive colour categorization experiments. Tutorial on the importance of color in language and culture

This tutorial examines how people of various cultures classify different colors as belonging together under common color names. This is addressed by examining Berlin and Kay's (1969) hierarchical classification scheme. Special attention is paid to the additional five (derived) color terms (i.e., brown, purple, pink, orange, and gray) that must be added to Herings' six primaries (i.e., white, black, red, green, yellow, blue) to constitute Berlin and Kay's basic color terms. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. An improved technology for eliminating nondeterministic latency in the L1 trigger system

Gamma Ray Array Detector(GRAD) is one of external target facility subsystems in the Cooling Storage Ring on the Heavy Ion Research Facility at Lanzhou(HIRFL-CSR).The trigger subsystem of GRAD is required to make a fast L1 trigger decision with a fixed latency for the data acquisition.Because the hit signals from the detector are asynchronous with the local clock of the trigger system,a nondeterministic latency(the value changes between zero and one clock period) is generated when the synchronous receivers of the conventional trigger system process the hit signals.In this paper,an improved trigger logic based on a field-programmable gate array is developed,and comprised of zero-delay broadening circuits as receivers and an improved adding circuit designed for the new receivers.Software simulation and experimental measurement have been conducted.Comparison with the conventional trigger logic,the improved trigger logic has the advantage of eliminating the nondeterministic latency and reducing the total processing latency.     

Age-related deficits in auditory confrontation naming.

The naming of manipulable objects in older and younger adults was evaluated across auditory, visual, and multisensory conditions. Older adults were less accurate and slower in naming across conditions, and all subjects were more impaired and slower to name action sounds than pictures or audiovisual combinations. Moreover, there was a sensory by age group interaction, revealing lower accuracy and increased latencies in auditory naming for older adults unrelated to hearing insensitivity but modest improvement to multisensory cues. These findings support age-related deficits in object action naming and suggest that auditory confrontation naming may be more sensitive than visual naming. Optimization of listening time of S-MAC for wireless sensor networks

In wireless sensor networks, sensor nodes are usually battery-operated computing and sensing devices, hence operations are limited by the initially equipped batteries, which are hard to be recharged or replaced. In this sense, saving energy consumption becomes significant. As most energy waste is from the always-on wireless interface, S-MAC is suggested to reduce energy consumption by introducing periodic listen/sleep scheme. However, when designing the listening time, S-MAC fails to consider the traffic distribution factor. In this article, an optimization for this scheme is proposed based on the distribution model. Evaluations show that the optimized S-MAC achieves considerable improvement in energy and latency.     

红麻全秆碱性亚钠化机浆工艺及磨木木素热学性质的研究

在已优选出来的最佳条件下，进行不同工艺路线下制取红麻全秆ＡＳＣＭＰ的研究。结果表明料片水洗再汽蒸，然后预处理，再经常压二道磨浆，所得浆料在实验室抄造出的新闻纸，各项指标均达到或超过国家Ａ级标准。通过ＰＦＩ磨研究表明红麻ＡＳＣＭＰ的适宜磨浆程度为磨至５５～６０°ＳＲ。采用ＳＥＭ观察到了浆料中潜态的存在。消潜可在６０℃下进行。用差热分析仪测定了磨木本素的玻璃化转变温度（Ｔｇ），由于木素被磺化，Ｔｇ下降了３．６７℃。
