Researchers using lateralized stimuli have suggested that the left hemisphere is sensitive to sentence-level context, whereas the right hemisphere (RH) primarily processes word-level meaning. The authors investigated this message-blind RH model by measuring associative priming with event-related brain potentials (ERPs). For word pairs in isolation, associated words elicited more positive ERPs than unassociated words with similar magnitudes and onset latencies in both visual fields. Embedded in sentences, these same pairs showed large sentential context effects in both fields. Small effects of association were observed, confined to incongruous sentences after right visual hemifield presentation but present for both congruous and incongruous sentences after left visual hemifield presentation. Results do not support the message-blind RH model but do suggest hemispheric asymmetries in the use of word and sentence context during real-time processing. This review discusses whether deficient inhibitory motor control is the core deficit of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Inhibitory motor control is commonly assessed using the stop-signal paradigm. Since the last meta-analysis that was performed, 33 new studies have appeared. The current meta-analysis revealed a significant difference between ADHD patients and matched controls in stop latency (stop-signal reaction time) in both children and adults. Basic reaction time was significantly longer in children with ADHD, but not in adults, and there was a significant interaction between the elongation of the latency to stop and to respond in adults, but not in children. The aims of this study were to investigate the adequacy of electronic voice keys for the purpose of measuring naming latency and to test the assumption that voice key error can be controlled by matching conditions on initial phoneme. Three types of naming latency measurements (hand-coding and 2 types of voice keys) were used to investigate effects of onset complexity (e.g., sat vs. spat) on reading aloud (J. R. Frederiksen & J. F. Kroll, 1976, A. H. Kawamoto & C. T. Kello, 1999). Network processing in the current Internet is at the entirety of the data packet, which is problematic when encountering network congestion. The newly proposed Internet service named Qualitative Communication changes the network processing paradigm to an even finer granularity, namely chunk level, which obsoletes many existing networking policies and schemes, especially the caching algorithms and cache replacement policies that have been extensively explored in Web Caching, Content Delivery Networks (CDN) or Information-Centric Networks (ICN). This paper outlines all the new factors that are brought by random linear network coding-based Qualitative Communication and proves the importance and necessity of considering them. A novel metric is proposed by taking these new factors into consideration. An optimization problem is formulated to maximize the metric value of all retained chunks in the local storage of network nodes under the constraint of storage limit. A cache replacement scheme that obtains the optimal result in a recursive manner is proposed correspondingly. With the help of the introduced intelligent cache replacement algorithm, the performance evaluations show remarkably reduced end-to-end latency compared to the existing schemes in various network scenarios. 相似文献

Tin-lead solders have been used as joining materials in the electronics industry for many years. As present there are great concerns about the potential harm of lead-containing solders to human beings and many efforts have been made to remove the lead from the electronics packages. However, there is no no-flow underfill currently on the market that is compatible with the lead-free solder. In this study, a new no-flow underfill for flip chip bumped with lead-free solder has been developed based on a curing agent and catalysts with high curing latency. The curing agent itself has the fluxing ability, so the need of extra flux is eliminated. Compared with the underfill for lead-containing solder, the new underfill has a higher curing temperature, compatible with the melting profile of lead-free solder. The wetting compatibility of the underfill with the lead-free solder has been studied by wetting experiments. The material properties of the underfill have been investigated using DSC, TGA, TMA and DMA. The results show that the newly developed underfill material has the potential to be used in lead-free interconnects. 相似文献

The effect of stimulant medication on recognition memory was examined in 18 children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Recognition memory was assessed using a delayed matching-to-sample task at 6 delays ranging from 1 to 32 s. Each child was tested on 2 separate occasions, once 60 to 90 min after taking stimulant medication and the other at least 18 hr after taking medication. Children performed significantly better on medication than off. Stimulant administration significantly increased accuracy and the number of nickel reinforcers earned. Decreases in observing response latency and correct choice response latency occurred after taking stimulant medication.
