Effects of dowels produced from various materials on withdrawal strength in MDF and Pb

Wood dowels are commonly used in the construction furniture, but little information is available about the additive effects of dowels on the ultimate withdrawal strength of single or multidowel joints. This study was carried out to determine the tensile strength of 10‐mm‐diameter dowels produced from medium‐density fiberboard (MDF), plywood, scotch pine (Pinus sylvestris L.), and beech (Fagus orientalis lipsky), bonded parallel and vertical to the surface of MDF and particleboard (Pb) with poly(vinyl acetate) (PVAc) and Desmodur‐VTKA (D‐VTKA). Tensile strength was applied to the dowels according to the procedure in the ASTM‐D 1037 standard. The effects of dowel species, direction of tensile, composite material, and type of adhesive on tensile strength were determined. The results showed that the highest tensile strength was obtained in beech dowels bonded vertically with PVAc adhesive to the surface of MDF at 7.91 N/mm². If the dowels used in furniture production are subjected to great tensile strength, beech dowels bonded with PVAc adhesive on MDF should be used. 提出了一种电子月票系统。用户从银行提取一笔款项后,可在有效次数范围内购买网上的服务,其付费方式不是以购买的信息量的多少进行,而是以购买的次数进行。这样既方便了用户,又方便了网上的服务提供者。     

安阳市地下水应急供水水源评估研究

以安阳市平原区为例,根据水均衡原理,利用当年汛期末浅层地下水位埋深和汛期降雨量以及汛期前地下水补给量等信息,建立安阳市平原区基于数值模拟模型的枯季地下水可开采量（可供水量）实时预报模型。研究结果可为区域地下水水源评估提供参考。

"I'm OK but You're Not" and Other Peer-Relational Schemas: Explaining Individual Differences in Children's Social Goals.

This study examined the links among 5th and 6th graders' (279 girls and 310 boys) self- and peer perceptions, social goals, and social behavior. Social goals mediated the effects of self- and peer perceptions on 3 types of behavior: proactive aggression, prosocial behavior, and withdrawal. In addition to their main effects (self-perception predicting variance in agentic goals, peer perception being related to communal goals), self- and peer perception interacted in influencing social goals; for instance, the effects of a positive view of oneself were different in the contexts of a positive versus a negative perception of peers. It is suggested that in order to predict children's social behavior more accurately, researchers should investigate children's dual perceptions of themselves and of their peers--that is, their peer-relational schemas--instead of assessing self-perception and peer perception in isolation from each other. A Stress and Coping Model of Medication Adherence and Viral Load in HIV-Positive Men and Women on Highly Active Antiretroviral Therapy (HAART).

The authors tested a structural model that incorporated age, time since diagnosis, social support, coping, and negative mood as predictors of medication adherence and HIV viral load on 188 men and 134 women on highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART). The authors used psychosocial latent factors formed from baseline measures to predict latent factors of adherence, as assessed by electronic monitoring and self-report, and viral load defined by indicators assessed over a 15-month period. Results from the model indicate that greater negative mood and lower social support are related to greater use of avoidance-oriented coping strategies. Use of these coping strategies by patients on HAART is related to poorer medication adherence and, subsequently, higher viral load. This model advances researchers' understanding of the contribution of psychosocial variables in predicting treatment adherence and disease progression in HIV-positive men and women. Causes of Seawater Incursion and Measures for Controlling the Disaster in coastal region of Longkou

The coastal region of Longkou town in Shandong province belongs to one of severe disaster areas of seawater incursion in China. It is caused by continuously withdrawal of groundwater. The distribution of seawater incursion areas shows a consistence with that of the groundwater zone of negative table values, and both of them indicate an identical extending trend. Based on monitored data of groundwater withdrawal and seawater incursion, the relation between excessive withdrawal of groundwater and seawater incursion is analyzed by regression method. The results show that volume of excessive withdrawal of groundwater is closely related with values of the seawater incursion area. The measures and suggestions for controlling seawater incursion are also put forward.
