Varying Electron Cyclotron Resonance Heating on the Levitated Dipole Experiment

Plasmas in the Levitated Dipole Experiment (LDX) are formed and sustained currently via two electron cyclotron resonance heating (ECRH) sources: 2.5 kW at 2.45 GHz and 2.5 kW at 6.4 GHz. An important topic being investigated is how varying the ECRH affects the confinement and stability of the plasma. We report the results of using different operational combinations of our RF sources, such as varying the power composition, changing the power levels, and sequencing of the onset time.     

Diffusion tensor interpolation profile control using non-uniform motion on a Riemannian geodesic

Tensor interpolation is a key step in the processing algorithms of diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), such as registration and tractography. The diffusion tensor (DT) in biological tissues is assumed to be positive definite. However, the tensor interpolations in most clinical applications have used a Euclidian scheme that does not take this assumption into account. Several Rie-mannian schemes were developed to overcome this limitation. Although each of the Riemannian schemes uses different metrics, they all result in a ‘fixed’ interpolation profile that cannot adapt to a variety of diffusion patterns in biological tissues. In this paper, we propose a DT interpolation scheme to control the interpolation profile, and explore its feasibility in clinical applications. The profile controllability comes from the non-uniform motion of interpolation on the Riemannian geodesic. The interpolation experiment with medical DTI data shows that the profile control improves the interpolation quality by assessing the reconstruction errors with the determinant error, Euclidean norm, and Riemannian norm.

试开发了一套基于计算机辅助设计和数值模拟的空心铝型材挤压过程计算机仿真系统,它涵盖了模具工艺设计的全过程,可以集成原有的和新建立的工艺设计知识。该系统包括空心型材挤压模具及坯料的参数化几何造型模块,并能分析分流桥的截面形状、分流孔的布置、焊合室的高度、工作带长度和阻流或者助流结构对金属流速分布的影响,模具的弹性变形对工作带有效长度和模孔尺寸的影响。     

数控机床铣削等距型面轴的理论研究

提出了在数控机床上铣削等距型面轴的新方法。通过建立和分析等距曲面及其加工中有关问题的数学模型，得到了数控铣削等距型面轴时确定自适应步长的算法以及行距、残留高度等重要理论问题的计算公式，为等距型面轴数控加工的实验研究奠定了理论基础。     

C型钢成型机的自动控制系统

本文介绍了液压数控冲剪式C型钢成型机的PLC控制系统的设计、实现及应用，该系统工作可靠，使用方便，极大地提高了C型钢成型机的自动化程度及生产效率。     

Evaluation of tempering induced changes in the hardness profile of case-carburised EN36 steel using magnetic Barkhausen noise analysis

The effect of tempering on the magnetic Barkhausen noise (MBN) signal profile was studied in case-carburised EN36 steel using a range of magnetic excitation frequencies and a number of frequency ranges for analysis of the MBN signal. The MBN level generally increases with tempering due to coarsening of the microstructure. With higher values of excitation frequency, f_EX, the MBN profile exhibits a single peak, but with low values of f_EX, double peaks are observed. The MBN peak obtained with higher f_EX was found to correlate well with hardness changes in a region, down to 100 μm below the surface. The analysis of the MBN signal produced with low f_EX, in narrow frequency ranges selected by software frequency filtering, showed variations in the extent of changes in the relative height of the two MBN peaks in the profile. After taking into account the skin depth-frequency relation for the MBN signal, variations in the values of the two MBN peaks in different analysing frequency ranges were found to correlate well with hardness variations at different depths down to 425 μm below the surface. An empirical relationship has been established between the hardness-depth profile and the MBN measurements.
