Experimental work was carried out to investigate the rheological properties of bitumen in water emulsions containing solids of different shape and size. The bitumen volumetric concentration was varied up to 60%, solids free basis, and the solids volume fraction (total volume basis) was varied up to 0.2. Irregular-shaped silica sand (average diameter: 9 and 33 μm) and smooth spherical glass beads (average diameter: 27 and 44 μm) were used as the added solids. In the low shear stress range, shear thinning behavior was observed for bitumen in water emulsions. At high shear stress, the viscosity of the emulsions became fairly independent of the shear stress. The addition of solids to the bitumen emulsions increased the mixture viscosity. The addition of irregular-shaped silica sand gave a higher viscosity than a similar addition of the spherical glass beads. The viscosity of the emulsion/solids mixtures was influenced by the solids size as well; the smaller size particles gave a higher viscosity. The addition of solids to the bitumen emulsions also induced shear thickening (dilatancy) behavior at high solids volume fraction. This work presents experimental results on pickup velocity (critical velocity) measurements for a variety of particulate solids. The present experiments together with previously published experiments of a number of researchers encompass about 100 measurements of 24 materials for a wide range of particle sizes, shapes and densities. Based on the experimental results, three zones are defined by establishing simple relationships between the Reynolds and Archimedes numbers. The empirical relationships were further modified by taking into account the pipe diameter and particle shape (sphericity). Different types of solid bodies (particles) with specific shape and size are needed for industrial processes. For spherical particles, ‘sizer’ measurements are usually reported as sphere diameters. For non-spherical particles, particle shape and especially orientation must be taken into account. Particles of a specific shape will present different views when looked at from different directions.We have employed a Camsizer® instrument to measure the distribution of projected area under different physical conditions for solid cylindrical particles:

- Under ‘ideal’ conditions, corresponding to a uniform distribution of particle orientation, measurements agreed with predictions. The celebrated theorem of Cauchy applies only to this case.

- For two other situations, measured and predicted results differed. However, from the experimental data it was possible to infer the particle orientations and hence theoretically predict the projected area distribution. Excellent agreement between theory and practice was then restored.

直接凝固注模成型(directcoagulationcasting,DCC)是一种崭新的(准)净尺寸陶瓷成型方法。本文报道了采用此法成型Si_3N_4及SiC陶瓷的基本原理和工艺过程。DCC成型工艺过程为把高固相含量低粘度的陶瓷浆料浇注到无孔模具中,事先加入到浆料中的生物酶及化学物质通过改变浆料的pH或电解质浓度来改变浆料的胶体化学行为,从而使浆料原位凝固,得到有足够脱模强度的陶瓷坯体。DCC成型的特点为坯体密度高(理论密度的55%~70%),坯体均匀,不用或只需少量的有机添加剂(少于1%),可成型大尺寸、复杂形状、高可靠性的陶瓷部件。 相似文献

针对传统由粗糙到精准的人脸外形搜索方法,其每一次外形搜索需要在整个外形搜索空间进行,提出一种基于分类的外形搜索方法。该方法始于一个包含不同人脸形状的外形搜索空间,首先利用基于相关性的特征选择方法对随机森林分类器进行优化,利用训练的随机森林分类器将外形搜索空间分为若干个外形搜索子空间;然后根据输入样本和随机森林分类器确定与当前外形最接近的外形搜索子空间,并计算对应子空间的中心和对应样本的后验概率分布,方便后续阶段更好地进行外形搜索;最后采用级联回归进行人脸特征点定位。在300-W数据集上的实验结果表明,此方法不仅有效降低了外形搜索的时间,同时在无约束环境中具有良好的鲁棒性。 相似文献

The paper studies a 3D fingerprint reconstruction technique based on multi-view touchless fingerprint images. This technique offers a solution for 3D fingerprint image generation and application when only multi-view 2D images are available. However, the difficulties and stresses of 3D fingerprint reconstruction are the establishment of feature correspondences based on 2D touchless fingerprint images and the estimation of the finger shape model. In this paper, several popular used features, such as scale invariant feature transformation (SIFT) feature, ridge feature and minutiae, are employed for correspondences establishment. To extract these fingerprint features accurately, an improved fingerprint enhancement method has been proposed by polishing orientation and ridge frequency maps according to the characteristics of 2D touchless fingerprint images. Therefore, correspondences can be established by adopting hierarchical fingerprint matching approaches. Through an analysis of 440 3D point cloud finger data (220 fingers, 2 pictures each) collected by a 3D scanning technique, i.e., the structured light illumination (SLI) method, the finger shape model is estimated. It is found that the binary quadratic function is more suitable for the finger shape model than the other mixed model tested in this paper. In our experiments, the reconstruction accuracy is illustrated by constructing a cylinder. Furthermore, results obtained from different fingerprint feature correspondences are analyzed and compared to show which features are more suitable for 3D fingerprint images generation. 相似文献
