The authors developed and tested a longitudinal multilevel model of collective efficacy formation. In 50 self-managing student teams, they investigated the effects of individual-level and team-level factors on observed behaviors and the subsequent development of collective efficacy for mastering a complex team task. Self-efficacy for teamwork, task-relevant knowledge, and collective efficacy predicted individual teamwork behaviors (rated by peers). Aggregated measures of teamwork behavior were related to subsequent collective efficacy, which was significantly related to final team performance. This study sought to unify the team composition literature by using meta-analytic techniques to estimate the relationships between specified deep-level team composition variables (i.e., personality factors, values, abilities) and team performance. The strength of the team composition variable and team performance relationships was moderated by the study setting (lab or field) and the operationalization of the team composition variable. In lab settings, team minimum and maximum general mental ability and team mean emotional intelligence were related to team performance. Only negligible effects were observed in lab settings for the personality factor and team performance relationships, as well as the value and team performance relationships. In contrast, team minimum agreeableness and team mean conscientiousness, openness to experience, collectivism, and preference for teamwork emerged as strong predictors of team performance in field studies. The present study addressed the issue of teams in schools and the ways in which they contribute to school effectiveness. Specifically, the present research suggested an input (frequency of meetings and functional heterogeneity)-process (interaction processes of exchanging information, learning, motivating, and negotiating)-outcome (team performance and innovation) model for predicting school effectiveness. Two hundred twenty-four school teams (including team coordinators, team members, and school principals) were surveyed. The results indicated that, regarding team innovation, frequency of meetings and functional heterogeneity were positively associated with the 4 interaction processes, which in turn fostered team innovation. However, regarding team performance, the results indicated that only frequency of meetings was positively associated with the interaction process of exchanging information, which in turn enhanced team performance. The findings serve to draw important theoretical and practical conclusions as to the best ways to structure schools and to improve their interaction processes for the enhancement of team performance and team innovation. A motivated information processing perspective (C. K. W. De Dreu & P. J. D. Carnevale, 2003; see also V. B. Hinsz, R. S. Tindale, & D. A. Vollrath, 1997) was used to predict that perceived cooperative outcome interdependence interacts with team-level reflexivity to predict information sharing, learning, and team effectiveness. A cross-sectional field study involving management and cross-functional teams (N = 46) performing nonroutine, complex tasks corroborated predictions: The more team members perceived cooperative outcome interdependence, the better they shared information, the more they learned and the more effective they were, especially when task reflexivity was high. When task reflexivity was low, no significant relationship was found between cooperative outcome interdependence and team processes and performance. The author concludes that the motivated information processing perspective is valid outside the confines of the laboratory and can be extended toward teamwork in organizations. We present a baseline MPEG-4 Advanced Video Coding (AVC) decoder based on the methodology of joint optimization of software and hardware. The software is first optimized with algorithm improvements for frame buffer management, boundary padding, content-aware inverse transform and context-based entropy decoding. The overall decoding throughput is further enhanced by pipelining the software and the dedicated hardware at macroblock level. The decoder is partitioned into the software and hardware modules according to the target frame rate and complexity profiles. The hardware acceleration modules include motion compensation, inverse transform and loop filtering. By comparing the optimized decoder with the committee reference decoder of Joint Video Team (JVT), the experimental results show improvement on the decoding throughput by 7 to 8 times. On an ARM966 board, the optimized software without hardware acceleration can achieve a decoding rate up to 5.9 frames per second (fps) for QCIF video source. The overall throughput is improved by another 27% to 7.4 fps on the average and up to 11.5 fps for slow motion video sequences. Finally, we provide a theoretical analysis of the ideal performance of the proposed decoder.Shih-Hao Wang was born in Tainan, Taiwan, R.O.C. in 1977. He was a lecture of the Department of Computer Science and Technology from 2002 to 2003 in Tsinghua University. In 2004, he joined Internet Media group of Microsoft Research Asia.His research interests include video coding, transmission and embedded multimedia application systems.Guan-yi Lin was born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan in 1981. He received his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Columbia University in 1995. In 1995, he joined David Sarnoff Research Center as a Member of Technical Staff. Later, he was promoted as a technology leader and a program manager at Sarnoff. While at Sarnoff, he led a team of researchers and developed an optimized MPEG-2 software encoder. For his work in the encoder and MPEG-4 areas, he received two Sarnoff achievement awards and three Sarnoff team awards.Since 1992 he has actively participated in ISO’s Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG) digital video coding standardization process with particular focus on the scalability/compatibility issue. He is currently the co-editor of the part 7 on the MPEG-4 committee. He has made more than 90 contributions to the MPEG committee over the past 10 years. His main research interests are compatible/scalable video compression, stereoscopic video coding, and motion estimation. In September 1999, he joined the faculty at National Chiao-Tung University in Taiwan, R.O.C. Dr. Chiang is currently a senior member of IEEE and holder of 13 US patents and 30 European and worldwide patents. He was a co-recipient of the 2001 best paper award from the IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology. : The D and z values of Salmonella, Listeria innocua, and Listeria monocytogenes were obtained for different ready‐to‐eat poultry products, including chicken, turkey, and duck. The D values of Salmonella, L. innocua, and L. monocytogenes were 151.5 to 0.1 min at 55 to 70°C, and the z values of Salmonella, L. innocua, and L. monocytogenes were 4.9 to 7.0 °C. Significant differences were found for the heat resistance of Salmonella, L. innocua, and L. monocytogenes among turkey, duck, and chicken products, indicating that the kinetic values of a certain pathogen in a specific product should be used for determining process lethality in fully cooked and vacuum‐packaged poultry products during post‐cook heat treatments.  相似文献
