In this work we study the way light interacts with thin gold films perforated with periodic arrays of holes with diameter smaller than the wavelength of the incident light. This structure exhibits sharp peaks in transmission spectra, at wavelengths larger than the array period, with efficiencies of orders of magnitude greater than predicted by standard aperture theory. The effect is highly dependent upon the structural film parameters like hole diameter and film thickness.  相似文献

The structural, electronic, optical and thermodynamic properties of SrxCa1−xO, BaxSr1−xO and BaxCa1−xO ternary alloys in NaCl phase were studied using pseudo-potential plane-wave method within the density functional theory. We modeled the alloys at some selected compositions with ordered structures described in terms of periodically repeated supercells. The dependence of the lattice parameters, band gaps, dielectric constants, refractive indices, Debye temperatures, mixing entropies and heat capacities on the composition x were analyzed for x = 0, 0.25, 0.50, 0.75 and 1. The lattice constant for SrxCa1−xO and BaxSr1−xO exhibits a marginal deviation from the Vegard's law, while the BaxCa1−xO lattice constant exhibits an appreciable upward bowing. A strong deviation of the bulk modulus from linear concentration dependence was observed for the three alloys. The microscopic origins of the gap bowing were detailed and explained. The composition dependence of the dielectric constant and refractive index was studied using different models. The thermodynamic stability of these alloys was investigated by calculating the phase diagram. The thermal effect on some macroscopic properties was investigated using the quasi-harmonic Debye model. There is a good agreement between our results and the available experimental data for the binary compounds which may be a support for the results of the ternary alloys reported here for the first time.  相似文献

Present paper looks into the possibilities and limitations of near ultraviolet-visible range spectroscopic ellipsometry in investigating HfO2 thin films (thickness < 7 nm). The “high k” dielectric films were produced by Atomic Layer Deposition—ALD, sputtering, and Metalo-Organic Chemical Vapour Deposition—MOCVD, on silicon and on silicon/silicon dioxide structures. Using a simple optical model (Cauchy dispersion, with an Urbach absorption tail), suitable for the optical range investigated, we extract the thickness of the layers and their optical constants. Results related to the optical properties show the important impact made by the initial surface and the growth/deposition procedure. It is also shown that for the case of ALD HfO2 films grown on RTO oxides a significant increase in the absorption coefficient is recorded in the 4.7-5.15 eV range; this can be linked with the formation of defects related to oxygen vacancies. Subsequent anneal cycles performed in oxygen reveal that changes do occur both at the transition layer level, and in the structure of the HfO2 film, for which an increase in the absorption is recorded.  相似文献

In this study, we propose a new abacus based on a synthetic parameter: the Amlouk-Boubaker expansivity ψAB. This abacus gathers the band gap energy Eg., Vickers microhardness and ψAB. This abacus is presented as a guide to evaluate and optimize photovoltaic-thermal semiconductor thin films thermal and optical performance. The definition of this parameter ψAB takes into account the thermal diffusivity and the optical effective absorptivity of the material. As a first approximation, this parameter, could be considered as a 3D velocity of the transmitted heat inside the material.New functional semiconductor materials have been significantly classified using this abacus.  相似文献
