Workflow simulation for operational decision support using event graph through process mining

It is increasingly common to see computer-based simulation being used as a vehicle to model and analyze business processes in relation to process management and improvement. While there are a number of business process management (BPM) and business process simulation (BPS) methodologies, approaches and tools available, it is more desirable to have a systemic BPS approach for operational decision support, from constructing process models based on historical data to simulating processes for typical and common problems. In this paper, we have proposed a generic approach of BPS for operational decision support which includes business processes modeling and workflow simulation with the models generated. Processes are modeled with event graphs through process mining from workflow logs that have integrated comprehensive information about the control-flow, data and resource aspects of a business process. A case study of a credit card application is presented to illustrate the steps involved in constructing an event graph. The evaluation detail is also given in terms of precision, generalization and robustness. Based on the event graph model constructed, we simulate the process under different scenarios and analyze the simulation logs for three generic problems in the case study: 1) suitable resource allocation plan for different case arrival rates; 2) teamwork performance under different case arrival rates; and 3) evaluation and prediction for personal performances. Our experimental results show that the proposed approach is able to model business processes using event graphs and simulate the processes for common operational decision support which collectively play an important role in process management and improvement.

针对当前模型检测工具普遍不能检测带有异或运算安全协议的问题,提出了一个新的模型检测器SAT#.该模型检测器通过引入抽象异或项的概念及其运算规则,大大降低了攻击者生成的异或消息数量,解决了由于引入传统异或运算导致的状态空间爆炸问题.在此基础上,通过在SAT模型中增加基于抽象异或项的重写规则,扩展了攻击者的异或运算能力,实现了对带有异或运算安全协议的自动化检测.通过对BULL协议的检测,证明了抽象异或项的实用性,同时也证明了SAT#模型检测器的可靠性.     

Biases in quantitative judgements

This article illustrates the biases that can occur in making quantitative judgements. The mechanisms that produce the biases are described. Ways are suggested to avoid some of the biase, but it is not possible to avoid them all.     

Synthesis and characterization of ET(P)S-4 and ET(P)S-10

Phosphorus containing ET(P)S-4 and ET(P)S-10 were synthesized from gels of composition xNa₂O–0.6KF–0.2TiO₂–(1.28 − 4y)xHCl–yP₂O₅–1.49SiO₂–39.5H₂O at 190 °C for 3 days. The XRD patterns are almost identical to the corresponding ETS samples. The presence of phosphorus in the initial gel influences the kinetic parameters of the crystallization process, the morphology and the size of the crystals. The ³¹P-NMR of the samples show that part of the phosphorus is attached at the siliceous surface as dihydrogenophosphate SiOPO(OH)₂ groups and cannot be introduced in a tetrahedral or octahedral framework position.

A Study on the Buckling Behaviour of Strips and Plates with Residual Stresses

During and after rolling or flattening of metal strips and plates the permissible deviations from flatness are described by the permissible absolute wave height and the flatness index. Both values can be determined on a measuring table while the material is not subjected to global tension. Because this procedure is expensive, time‐consuming and allows measurement only at discrete positions along the strip length, on‐line flatness measuring systems are used which can detect the distribution of longitudinal tensile stresses distributed across the strip width allowing for the calculation of the flatness index. This value does not always agree with the value obtained directly by measuring on the table even when the measurement of the longitudinal tensile stress distribution operates perfectly. It can be shown that the measurement of the tensile stress distribution does not give a direct indication on the wave height in the tension‐free state determined on the measuring table. To explain the relationship between tensile stress distribution in the strip and the flatness measurement on the measuring table, the buckling behavior is analysed both with and without dead load for simple symmetrical residual stress distributions resulting, e.g., from the rolling process. Based on the knowledge of the distribution of the longitudinal residual stresses across the strip width, the flatness index and the wave height can be determined by using a specialized finite element model. If the direct measurement is performed under action of dead load, large differences between the directly and indirectly obtained flatness index are observed. Below a certain limit of the intensity of the residual stress distribution the strips and plates lie flat on the measuring table. Above this limit the strip lying on the table exhibits post‐bucking deformations. In the latter case, the wave height increases with strip thickness and intensity of residual stresses.
