After a review of the selection process of (Nd0.625Ni0.375)85Al15 as a metallic glass with a relatively high glass-forming ability, we investigate the influences of its phase transitions by duplicating the heating process of the isochronal thermal analysis with low-temperature annealings. The structure, thermal stability and magnetic properties are characterized. And the influences on magnetic properties are particularly discussed with emphasis. Both the annealing processes, to the glass-transition temperature and to the onset temperature of crystallization, bring about a higher coercivity of the sample and a higher freezing temperature of the spin-glass-state. For the sample annealed to the onset temperature of crystallization, the influence is quite obvious and is ascribed to the formation of ferrimagnetic Nd7Ni3 phase, as detected by XRD. For the sample annealed to the glass-transition temperature, the indistinct influence is further identified with the analysis of the frequency dependence of the spin-glass-state, and it is mainly attributed to the change of the short-range order in the amorphous matrix.  相似文献

Plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) has been used to grow corrosion-resistive, semiconducting thin films of the graphite-like polymer polyperinaphthalene (PPN) from 3,4,9,10-perylenetetracarboxylic dianhydride (PTCDA). Unlike thermal chemical vapor deposition of PPN from PTCDA, where thin film growth is catalyzed by a transition metal substrate, PPN films have been grown by PECVD for the first time on non-catalytic substrates: indium tin oxide (ITO)-coated glass, aluminum and silicon. Films with the same morphology and molecular characteristics have also been grown on steel substrates, where iron functions as a growth catalyst. Potentiodynamic corrosion measurements in pH 5 water show that PPN films on steel provide an effective corrosion protection layer.  相似文献

Wireless sensor networks have become extremely popular in a number of fields in recent years, the cultural heritage among them. To date, however, communications quality has not been technically validated in any of the various built (churches, museums, archaeological sites) or natural (caves, lava tubes) heritage scenarios. The present study establishes methodology for assessing the quality of wireless communications and validating the network used, both of which are essential to guaranteeing accurate long-term monitoring in heritage scenarios. Parameters such as signal strength, link quality, range and success rate were analysed with a view to preventing transmission failure and ensuring reliable monitoring for the preventive conservation of the cultural heritage.  相似文献

This paper presents a combined experimental and numerical study of the properties of a liquid metal flow inside a cylinder driven by the application of a strong electrical current. The interaction between the electric current running through the melt and the corresponding induced magnetic field produces so-called electro-vortex flows. We consider here a configuration of two parallel pencil electrodes immersed at the free surface. Velocity measurements were performed by means of the Ultrasound Doppler method. A linear array of 25 singular transducers was used to determine the two-dimensional pattern of the vertical flow component. Numerical simulations of the magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) problem were conducted to calculate the Lorentz force, the Joule heating and the induced melt flow. Experimental and numerical results reveal a complex three-dimensional flow structure of the liquid metal flow. In particular, two pronounced downward jets are formed below both electrodes. The flow structure appears to be symmetrical with respect to two vertical cross sections being perpendicular to each other and one of the two planes contains the electrodes. The comparison between the experimental data and the numerical results shows a very good agreement.  相似文献

A copolymer, poly(aniline-co-m-aminophenol), has been synthesized using repeated potential cycling. The monomer concentration ratio, acid concentration and applied potential strongly affect the copolymerization rate and the properties of the copolymer. The optimum conditions for the copolymerization are that the scan potential range is controlled between −0.10 and 0.95 V (vs.SCE), and a solution consists of 0.34 M aniline, 0.012 M m-aminophenol and 2 M H2SO4. The IR spectra of the copolymers demonstrate that the m-aminophenol units are included in the copolymer chains. The cyclic voltammograms of the copolymers in 0.3 M Na2SO4 solution with various pH values were performed at the potential ranges from −0.20 to 0.80 V and at a scan rate of 60 mV s−1. The results indicate that the copolymer still hold 41.7% of the electrochemical activity when the copolymer electrode was transferred from a solution of pH 5.0 to a solution of pH 11.0 in the potential range of −0.20 to 0.80 V. An impedance plot of the copolymer in a solution with pH 12.0 and at 0.40 V is constructed of a semicircle and a Warburg line with a slope of 1. This means that the electrode reaction of the copolymer at pH 12.0 is also under mass transfer control. The conductivity of the copolymer prepared under the optimum conditions is 1.42 S cm−1, and slightly depends on the pH value. Thus, the pH dependence of the electrical properties of the copolymer is improved compared with poly(aniline-co-o-aminophenol), and is much better than that of the parent polyaniline.  相似文献

In this study, the effect of additives (oils, lubricants) included in the formulations of different block styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) rubbers on the effectiveness of the ultraviolet (UV) radiation treatment to improve adhesion to polyurethane adhesive was analyzed. The modifications on the UV-treated rubber surfaces for different lengths of treatment have been characterized by contact-angle measurements (ethylene glycol, 25°C), Attenuated Total Reflectance-Infrared (ATR-IR) spectroscopy, X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS), and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). The adhesion properties have been evaluated from T-peel strengths of treated rubber/polyurethane adhesive/leather joints. The UV-radiation treatment on all rubber surfaces produced an increase in wettability, carbon-oxygen polar moieties, and ablation. The oxidation degree produced on the rubber surface treated with UV radiation was less when oils and lubricants were included in the formulation, likely due to competition of the oxidation process with the migration of low-molecular-weight additives to the rubber surface. On the SBS2 rubber surface (rubber containing carbon black and calcium carbonate fillers), the migration of oils and lubricants was also produced during the UV-radiation treatment, but a decrease in adhesion occured likely due to the lower tensile strength and higher extent of oxidation produced by the UV radiation treatment.  相似文献

A model clarifier was designed using conventional methods for the surface calculation and an alternative pathway for the determination of the height and constructed accordingly. In addition, a new approach was used to evaluate the necessary scraper speed in comparison to full-scale clarifiers. Scaling effects were taken into account. The model clarifier was first tested by tracer experiments. Conductivity measurements were used for the clarification zone, whereas the thickening zone was tested using pyrene as an organic tracer compound. Finally, the behaviour of the model clarifier was compared with a full-scale settler. The results indicated that operation of the model clarifier was representative of full-scale behaviour, except for severe overloads. Hence, the small-scale clarifier qualified as a model for small-scale studies and could be installed on large-scale plants to monitor more transparently plant performance and sludge behaviour  相似文献

Starting with a Ho3(Fe1−xCox)29−yCry, (x,y) = (0.6,4.5) and (0.8,5.5) nominal stoichiometry, a disordered variant of the hexagonal 2:17 phase (Th2Ni17-type, S.G. P63/mmc) occurs, since both the monoclinic 3:29 and the transition-metal-rich disordered Th2Ni17-type hexagonal compounds have the same rare earth to transition metal ratio, 1:9.7. The magnetic properties and the magnetocrystalline anisotropy of these compounds have been investigated. The anisotropy constant, K's, and the anisotropy field, μ0HA, values have been deduced from the magnetization curves measured on powder samples magnetically aligned in a rotating magnetic field. The compound with (x,y) = (0.8,5.5) shows a compensation point at about 55 K. The magnetic anisotropy of both compounds is that of easy-plane from room temperature to low temperatures down to 5 K.  相似文献

The effect of Mn substitution on transport and thermoelectric properties of Cr1?xMnxSb2 (x = 0, 0.01, 0.03, 0.05) have been investigated at the temperatures from 7 K to 313 K. The results show that similar to CrSb2 all the doped samples are semiconducting. However, electrical resistivity of Cr1?xMnxSb2 is found to decrease greatly with increasing doping content of Mn. Besides, Mn substitution leads to suppression of the plateau appearing in the plot of resistivity vs. temperature for CrSb2 and makes the resistivity anomaly originating from antiferromagnetic transition shift to higher temperatures. Moreover, corresponding to the plateau a large peak of thermopower (?431 μV K?1) was observed at ~60 K, which was also found to be suppressed by Mn doping. In addition, lattice thermal conductivity of Cr1?xMnxSb2 was found to decrease substantially with increasing Mn content, though Mn doping also results in slow reduction in absolute value of thermopower at the temperatures T > ~200 K. As a result, at T > ~260 K the figure of merit ZT of heavily doped sample Cr1?xMnxSb2 (x = 0.03 and 0.05) was improved. Specifically, at 313 K ZT value of Cr0.95Mn0.05Sb2 is ~14% larger than that of CrSb2, indicating that thermoelectric properties of CrSb2 can be improved by proper substitution of Mn for Cr.  相似文献

Complex oxides Ln2Mn2/3Re4/3O7 (Ln = Y, Er) and Y2Zn2/3Re4/3O7 with a zirkelite structure and hexagonal unit cells (space group P3121, z = 6) have been obtained. Static and dynamic magnetic susceptibility measurements show that these oxides possess spin-glass behavior at low temperatures. Valence combinations of d-metals in the oxides are Mn2+(Zn2+)–Re5+. It is supposed that the examined specimens Ln2Mn2/3Re4/3O7 (Ln = Y, Er) contain the second magnetic phase of an unknown composition.  相似文献
