Small Hydropower： way out of energy crisis in Pakistan

The single renewable energy resource that Pakistan possesses in abundance is hydropower, the most environmental friendly, cheapest source of energy. It has a potential of more than 41,722MW. Despite this, Pakistan now is faced with a most serious energy shortfall. The acute shortage of electricity has resulted in loadshedding during the current summer season, costing the economy millions of rupees. The installed power generation capacity at the end of 2005 was19,560MW, of which 65 per cent was thermal, 33 per cent was hydroelectric and 2.4 per cent was nuclear. The 33 per cent share of hydroelectric power amounts to only 6, 595MW. We should not forget the fact that the projected lifetime of the existing natural gas and oil is just over 15 and nine years respectively.

Integrated Automation System for Rare Earth Countercurrent Extraction Process

Lower automation level in industrial rare-earth extraction processes results in high production cost, inconsistent product quality and great consumption of resources in China. An integrated automation system for extraction process of rare earth is proposed to realize optimal product indices, such as product purity, recycle rate and output. The optimal control strategy for output component, structure and function of the two-gradcd integrated automation system composed of the process management grade and the process control grade were discussed. This system is successfully applied to a HAB yttrium extraction production process and was found to provide optimal control, optimal operation, ontimal management and remarkable benefits.     

"规划求解"在土方调配计算中的应用

土方调配计算中通常采用“线性规划”法,然而当出现数量较多的填挖区时,采用人工计算则工作量太大,而专业分析软件又往往得不到普及。以潮州供水枢纽工程库区防护Ⅱ标段第二施工区域土方工程为例,介绍一种利用Excel的“规划求解”功能解决土方调配计算的方法。     

方波扫描路径确定声源声功率误差特性分析

改进了矩形测量面方波扫描路径测量声功率的误差模型 ,以单极子、偶极子及四极子声源为例 ,给出了扫描方向、测量面离声源的距离及扫描线的密度的选取对理论误差的分布图形。分析结果表明 :对选定的测量面 ,在扫描线密度小的情况下 ,通过调整声源离测量面的距离 ,可以在声源近处找到一个最优点或较优点 ,使理论误差为零或很小 ;在绝大多数情况下 ,沿测量面长边扫描误差比沿短边扫描小。

Missler软件公司将于近日发布TopSolid’MoldXpress“使用时付费”在线解决方案，这是一个基于其TopSolid’Mold综合模块，可用于注塑模设计的解决方案。ToPSoIid’MoldXpress能够利用其在线特性，并结合CAD／CAM专家以及多个欧洲模具技术中心的意见对简单和中等的注塑模进行自动设计。
