Vague soft hemirings

Xu et al. introduced the concept of vague soft sets, which is an extension to the soft set and the vague set. In this paper, we apply the concept of vague soft sets to hemiring theory. The notion of (∈,∈∨q)-vague (soft) left h-ideals of a hemiring is introduced and some related properties are investigated.

CXCL10 Decreases GP73 Expression in Hepatoma Cells at the Early Stage of Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) Infection

Golgi protein 73 (GP73), which is up-regulated in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), has recently been identified as a novel serum marker for HCC diagnosis. Several reports also noted the increased levels of GP73 expression in chronic liver disease in patients with acute hepatitis of various etiologies, chronic Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection and alcoholic liver disease. The molecular mechanisms of GP73 expression in HCV related liver disease still need to be determined. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the effect of HCV infection on GP73 expression. GP73 was highly expressed in Huh7, Hep3B, 293T and HUVEC cells, and was low-expressed in HepG2 cells. HCV infection led to down-regulation of GP73 in Huh7 and HepG2/CD81 cells at the early stage of infection. CXCL10 decreased GP73 expression in Huh7 and HepG2 cells. Up-regulation of GP73 was noted in hepatocytes with cytopathic effect at advanced stage of HCV infection, and further research is needed to determine the unknown factors affecting GP73 expression. In conclusion, our study provided additional evidence for the roles of GP73 in liver disease.     

Crystal Structure of a Soluble Form of Human CD73 with Ecto‐5′‐Nucleotidase Activity

CD73 is a dimeric ecto‐5′‐nucleotidase that is expressed on the exterior side of the plasma membrane. CD73 has important regulatory functions in the extracellular metabolism of certain nucleoside monophosphates, in particular adenosine monophosphate, and has been linked to a number of pathological conditions such as cancer and myocardial ischaemia. Here, we present the crystal structure of a soluble form of human soluble CD73 (sCD73) at 2.2 Å resolution, a truncated form of CD73 that retains ecto‐5′‐nucleotidase activity. With this structure we obtained insight into the dimerisation of CD73, active site architecture, and a sense of secondary modifications of the protein. The crystal structure reveals a conserved loop that is directly involved in the dimer‐dimer interaction showing that the two subunits of the dimer are not linked by disulfide bridges. Using biophotonic microarray imaging we were able to confirm glycosylation of the enzyme and show that the enzyme is decorated with a variety of oligosaccharide structures. The crystal structure of sCD73 will aid the design of inhibitors or activator molecules for the treatment of several diseases and prove useful in explaining the possible roles of single nucleotide polymorphisms in physiology and disease.     

Critical review of the impact of tortuosity on diffusion

Most of the present formulations for the mass conservation of species do not correctly represent changes in the time scale of diffusion as a function of porosity in a system of porous media. In sediments, or in any porous system, the presence of solid particles causes the diffusion paths of species to deviate from straight lines. To represent the role of porosity on diffusion, the diffusion coefficient must be scaled with tortuosity. In this paper we present a review of the available formulations for the scaled diffusion coefficient with tortuosity, sensitivity tests with analytical solutions, and calibration of these formulations with respect to measured data.

In the summer of 1966, the Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama installed Narcissus Garden in the main grounds of the 33rd Venice Biennale. Fifteen hundred mirrored plastic balls formed the core of a dynamic, complex work, which also included human agents, environmentally determined, ephemeral elements, and photographic images. The common thread, however, was the presence of the artist herself, captured for posterity in nearly every existing photograph of Narcissus Garden. Taken collectively, these images of Kusama and her work create a complicated amalgam of self-publicity and effacement, presenting a complex fusion of artist, image, and object. Photographs do not supplement the sculpture, Narcissus Garden, but function as an integral component of the work, acting as the connective tissue amongst its multiple parts.

结合大型通用有限元分析软件ANSYS对钢筋混凝土结构的分析方法和分析模型作了介绍,其中着重介绍了solid73单元相对于solid65单元的一些优点。通过算例分析证明在一定条件下使用solid73单元来代替solid65单元是完全可行的,而且精度更高。
