Elastomeric nanocomposite based on carbon nanotubes for Polymerase Chain Reaction device

The low thermal conductivity of polymers is the main problem to design efficient disposable polymeric Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) devices. The introduction of nanocomposite (NC) materials to fabricate Lab-On-a-Chips (LOCs) for on-chip PCR can improve the thermal response of the final device, fastening the PCR thermocycling. In this study, we propose the application of the nanocomposite obtained introducing Multi-Walled Carbon NanoTubes (MWCNTs) into Poly(DiMethyl)Siloxane (PDMS). We demonstrate a better thermal behavior for devices made of the nanocomposite material, observing faster transitions and a better control in steady-state temperatures. The better thermal performance of the nanocomposite-based device is mirrored by an efficiency increase in PCR reaction, demonstrating the direct enhancing effect of the CNTs content in the composite. This novel approach allows us to reach a more precise control in the biological reaction, with a beneficial effect on process efficiency, actually introducing a new class of devices.     

Downlink multiple access schemes for transmitted reference pulse cluster UWB systems

Transmitted reference pulse cluster (TRPC) signaling was recently proposed for low data rate ultra‐wideband communications. Compared with the conventional transmitted reference (TR), TRPC has a more compact and uniform spacing for the reference and data pulses and therefore solves the implementation problem posed by the long delay line requirement in the conventional TR. In this paper, downlink multiple access issue is further investigated for TRPC systems. According to the TRPC signaling structure, both code division multiple access (CDMA) and time division multiple access (TDMA) methods are discussed. Theoretical analysis and simulation results show that TDMA outperforms CDMA in both bit error rate performance and throughput. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.     

Photoluminescence Spectra of Disordered and Ordered Ga 0.52 In 0.48 P

Temperature-dependence and excitation-intensity-dependence of photoluminescence spectra for both disordered and ordered Ga0.52 In0.48P are measured.The disordered sample is charactierized by its single pcak photoluminescence spectrum which is excitation-intensity.independent and has different activation energy at different temperature region.The ordered sample shows double peaks,the intensity of the high-energy peak has an anomalous increase firstly and quenches afterwards.The relative henomena are reasonably explained in terms of lattice ordering and orientation superlattice model.

光正交码的有限射影几何设计方法

光正交码是适用于光纤CDMA系统的扩频序列。但在定义中并未给出构造、生成方法,本文研究的有限几何法是一种有效的光正交码设计方法,它可以设计出最优码。本文对此法原理、设计方法进行了研究,提出了一种计算机辅助设计方法,并给出了实际设计过程及结果。     

GPS接收机中的码分多址信号处理研究

介绍了基于码分多址信号处理的GPS(全球定位系统)接收机的算法和电路设计。GPS接收机电路的信号处理任务主要是对数字化后的基带扩频信号进行载波跟踪、解调、解扩、码跟踪,从而得到符号数据。着重讨论了GPS接收机中信号处理部分的COSTAS、码跟踪、帧同步生成电路三大模块的功能任务、原理、算法及其相应的电路设计。通过这些研究工作,可以进一步设计出当前应用日益普遍的GPS接收机电路,该电路具有功能全面、通用性好、可靠性高等特点。     

BER analysis of MPSK space-time code with differential detection over correlated block-fading Rayleigh channel

MIMO technology proposed in recent years can effectively combat the multipath fading of wireless channel and can considerably enlarge the channel capacity, which has been investigated widely by researchers. However, its performance analysis over correlated block-fading Rayleigh channel is still an open and challenging objective. In this article, an analytic expression of bit error rate （BER） is presented for multiple phase shift keying （MPSK） space-time code, with differential detection over correlated block-fading Rayleigh channel. Through theoretical analysis of BER, it can be found that the differential space-time scheme without the need for channel state information （CSI） at receiver achieves distinct performance gain compared with the traditional nonspace-time system. And then, the system simulation is complimented to verify the above result, showing that the diversity system based on the differential space-time block coding （DSTBC） outperforms the traditional nonspacetime system with diversity gain in terms of BER. Furthermore, the numerical results also demonstrate that the error floor of the differential space-time system is much lower than that of the differential nonspace-time system.     

Woven卷积码及其迭代译码算法

本文在以卷积码为分量码的串行级联码的软输入软输出(SISO)算法的基础上，提出一种模块化的用于Woven卷积码迭代译码的对数SISO算法。计算机仿真表明该算法具有收敛速度快译码性能高的特点。
