Note that the conservatism of the delay-dependent stability criteria can be reduced by increasing the integral terms in Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional (LKF). This brief revisits the stability problem for a class of linear time-delay systems via multiple integral approach. The novelty of this brief lies in that a Wirtinger-based multiple integral inequality is employed to estimate the derivative of a class of LKF with multiple integral terms. Based on these innovations, a new delay-dependent stability criterion is derived in terms of linear matrix inequalities. AbstractThis article is meant as a gentle introduction to the topological terms that often play a decisive role in effective theories describing topological quantum effects in condensed matter systems. We first take up several prominent examples, mainly from the area of quantum magnetism and superfluids/superconductors. This paper studies the problems of stability analysis and state feedback stabilization for networked control system. By developing a novel delay-partitioning approach, the information on both the range of network-induced delay and the maximum number of consecutive data packet dropouts can be taken into full consideration. Various augmented Lyapunov–Krasovskii functionals (LKFs) with triple-integral terms are constructed for the two delay subintervals. Moreover, the Wirtinger-based inequalities in combination with an improved reciprocal convexity are utilized to estimate the derivatives of LKFs more accurately. The proposed approaches have improved the stability conditions without increasing much computational complexity. Based on the obtained stability criterion, a stabilization controller design approach is also given. We evaluate the extent to which a combination of wind power and concentrating solar power (CSP) may lead to stable and even baseload power by taking advantage of: 1) spatiotemporal balancing of solar and wind energy resources and 2) storage capabilities of CSP plants. A case study is conducted for the region of Andalusia in Spain. To this end, spatiotemporal variability of modeled CSP and wind capacity factors in a 3-km spatial resolution grid were analyzed based on principal component analysis (PCA) and canonical correlation analysis (CCA). Results reveal that renewable baseload power can be obtained in the study region by locating wind farms and CSP plants using balancing patterns derived from CCA and PCA. In addition, the power fluctuation reduction attained from these patterns was substantially higher than those obtained by interconnecting randomly-located wind farms and CSP plants across the study region. Results were particularly meaningful for the winter season. Upon considering storage capability of the CSP plants, results proved better. The main difference was a higher firm capacity value associated with spring and summer seasons. For the other seasons, the contribution of thermal storage capabilities of the CSP plants to stable power proved less relevant. 相似文献

Ultra-high temperature ceramics (UHTCs) are interesting materials for a large variety of applications under extreme conditions. This paper reports on the production and extensive characterization of highly dense, pure zirconium and tantalum diborides, with particular interest to their potential utilization in the thermal solar energy field. Monolithic bulk samples are produced by Spark Plasma Sintering starting from elemental reactants or using metal diboride powders previously synthesized by Self-propagating High-temperature Synthesis (SHS). Microstructural and optical properties of products obtained by the two processing methods have been comparatively evaluated. We found that pure diborides show a good spectral selectivity, which is an appealing characteristic for solar absorber applications. No, or very small, differences in the optical properties have been evidenced when the two investigated processes adopted for the fabrication of dense TaB2 and ZrB2, respectively, are compared. 相似文献
