Hyperbranched poly(ether ketone)-b-linear poly(ether ketone)-b-hyperbranched poly(ether ketone) (HLHPEK) triblock copolymers with two different block compositions were prepared as an approach to improve the mechanical brittleness of hyperbranched poly(ether ketone) (HPEK). From the time-temperature superposition of dynamic shear moduli, G′(ω) and G″(ω), of HPEK and two HLHPEKs, it was investigated that the junction points between G′(ω) and G″(ω) shifted to the higher frequencies and the rubbery plateau region spread wider over the reduced frequency axis as the linear blocks were introduced and their compositions were increased. Such changes in viscoelastic response were consequences of increase in the amount of chain entanglements additionally formed by the linear blocks. In order to verify the effect of the linear block incorporation on amelioration of the mechanical brittleness, the degree of brittleness and its improvement were evaluated from the temperature dependence of the shift factors, aTs, experimentally obtained during the superposition of the dynamic moduli and of the average viscoelastic relaxation times, τHNs, determined with empirical Havriliak-Negami distribution function. From the nonlinear curve fittings of the aTs and the τHNs by the Vogel-Tamman-Fulcher equation, the degree of brittleness for HPEK and HLHPEK triblock copolymers were quantified as values of the material parameter D, an indicative of deviation from the linear Arrhenius behavior and a measure of fragility of the given material. The tendency of increasing D values with the linear block compositions confirmed substantial improvement of the mechanical brittleness in the HLHPEK triblock copolymers compared to HPEK. Therefore, the approach to copolymerize HPEK with its chemically analogous linear counterpart was verified to be an effective strategy to impart molecular entanglements and hence ameliorate the mechanical brittleness on the basis of macroscopic rheological evaluation.  相似文献

Dynamic Matrix Control (DMC) has proven to be a powerful tool for optimal regulation of chemical processes under constrained conditions. It is based on a linear convolution model derived from step-response measurements. A model predictive control algorithm optimises closed-loop performance for a nominal operating point. However, as the process moves away from this point, control usually becomes sub-optimal due to process non-linearity. As seen in this work, the DMC algorithm can be made adaptive, to establish a new local model, by recursive estimation of the local step response parameters from normal plant variations. However, when used for control of plants containing integrating process units, steady-state offsets occur for sustained changes. Thus, a novel Adaptive Linear Dynamic Matrix Control (ALDMC) algorithm has been developed and used to control a 2-input/2-output system with an integrating behaviour. Comparisons of model control and plant control with and without these features demonstrated the importance of integral compensation for integrating processes, and model adaptation in the case of plant/model mismatch. Some cross-compensation of integration by the adaptive feature was also noted. An holistic technique is demonstrated which simultaneously recognises residual integration disturbances and matrix parameter variations, whereas previous techniques which recognise only one of these will fail in the presence of the other.  相似文献

Wholly aromatic thermotropic main chain liquid crystalline copolymers (LCPs) with varying glass transitions (Tg) were tested for wear resistance, particularly under high friction conditions, where surface temperatures can rise. Dynamic mechanical spectroscopy and DSC were used to characterize molecular relaxations. Three copolyester LCPs which all contain a substantial fraction of main chain 1,4-phenyl groups were chosen for this study. These included semi-crystalline Vectra® A900, a semi-crystalline LCP containing phenyl hydroquinone (phHQ-LCP), and a low crystallinity LCP containing t-butyl substituted hydroquinone (t-butylLCP). These have glass transitions of 100, 160 and 175 °C, respectively, and heat deflection temperatures (HDTs) of 170, 260 and 174 °C, respectively. HDT is dependent in part on crystallinity. The wear performance was found to depend mainly on Tg and not HDT, suggesting a microscopic failure mechanism related to the amorphous phase. This is supported by the relatively poor elevated temperature wear performance of Vectra® compared to the higher Tg LCPs. Shear strength measurements on the neat LCP resins did not correlate with wear properties of the blends, most likely because the measurements were made at room temperature and not elevated temperatures.  相似文献

Reactor blends of polyethylene/poly(ethylene-co-1-octene) resins with bimodal molecular weight and bimodal short chain branching distributions were synthesized in a two-step polymerization process. The compositions of these blends range from low molecular weight (LMW) homopolymer to high molecular weight (HMW) copolymer and, vice versa, HMW homopolymer to LMW copolymer. The physical properties of the blends were found to be consistent with the nature of the individual components. For the tensile properties, the stiffness decreases with increasing the fraction of the copolymer, regardless of the molecular weight of the homopolymer fraction. For these blends with bimodal microstructures, it was confirmed that the degree of crystallinity governs the stiffness of the polymer. However, the energy dampening properties of the polymers benefit from the presence of the copolymer. A balance of stiffness and toughness can be obtained by altering the composition of the blends. For some blends, the presence of HMW homopolymer can dominate the tensile properties, showing little variation in the stiffness with increased addition of copolymer. It was also demonstrated that the testing conditions and thermal treatment of the polymer greatly influence the resulting elastic and energy dampening properties. Depending on the desired application, annealing these polymers (especially very low density copolymers) not only increases the crystallinity and stiffness, but also changes the frequency response of the dynamic mechanical properties.  相似文献

This paper compares two dynamic, one-dimensional models of a planar anode-supported intermediate temperature (IT) direct internal reforming (DIR) solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC): one where the flow properties (pressure, gas stream densities, heat capacities, thermal conductivities, and viscosity) and gas velocities are taken as constant throughout the system, based on inlet conditions, and one where this assumption is removed to focus on the effect of considering the variation of local flow properties on the prediction of the fuel cell performance. The refined model consists of mass, energy, and momentum balances, and of an electrochemical model that relates the fuel and air gas compositions and temperatures to voltage, current density, and other relevant fuel cell variables. Simulations for steady-state and dynamic conditions have been carried out and the results obtained from the two models compared. For a co-flow SOFC operating on a 10% pre-reformed methane fuel mixture, with 75% fuel utilisation, inlet fuel and air temperatures of 1023 K, average current density of , and an air ratio of 8.5, the results show that, although the error incurred in the prediction of the flow properties in the first model is significant, there is good agreement between both models in terms of the overall cell performance: the maximum difference in the local temperature values is about 7 K and the cell efficiency differs by less than 1%. However, the discrepancies between the two models increase, especially in the fuel channel, when higher current density values are assigned to the cell.  相似文献

The dynamic and partial reconfiguration of FPGAs enables the dynamic placement of applicatives tasks in reconfigurable zones. However, the dynamic management of the tasks impacts the communications since they are not present in the FPGA during all computation time. So, the task manager should ensure the allocation of each new task and their interconnection which is performed by a flexible interconnection network. In this article, various interconnection networks are studied. Each architecture is evaluated with respect to its suitability for the paradigm of the dynamic and partial reconfiguration in FPGA implementations. This study leads us to propose the OCEAN network that supports the communication constraints into the context of dynamic reconfigurations. Thanks to a generic platform allowing in situ characterizations of network performances, fair comparisons of various Networks-On-Chip can be realized. The FPGA and ASICs implementations of the OCEAN network are also discussed.  相似文献

Dynamic images that possess beauty and are user-friendly can increase the use of digital technology. In addition to information conveyance, dynamic images also act as a communication bridge in the human–machine interface. Dynamic images are widely used in the application of digital media. Therefore, understanding the visual effects of dynamic images on viewers is a very important issue. From a visual communication design perspective, dynamic images influence not only image quality, but also the viewers’ perception and impression of the displayed image. In the contemporary age characterized by universal usage of dynamic images, designers should attain synchronized knowledge and understanding of relevant media technology so as to present preferred design quality in the management of digital design such as animation design, Web page design, multimedia design, and so on. The current study noted that psychological effects such as viewers’ visual attention, preferences, and understanding were more important than image quality. Therefore, this study adopted the viewpoint of “visual design” and conducted a perceptual evaluation of grating frequency and grating velocity. The pair-comparison method and scale method were adopted in the research methodology to simplify perceptual evaluations and enhance their validity. The purpose of this study was: (1) To propose recommendations for displaying dynamic images and improving image performance using perceptual evaluation methods. (2) To examine the influence of psychological factors on viewer’s comfort when they experience dynamic images. (3) To identify the best grating feature combinations that meet viewer’s psychological characteristics and propose recommendations for dynamic images design. The study concludes that it is useful to establish criteria for evaluating users’ perception and to, develop perceptual evaluations of dynamic images. It is recommended that designers find a balance between watching a moving imaging display “clearly” and watching it “comfortably” for successful reception by the viewer.  相似文献

Geographically distributed cloud platforms enable an attractive approach to large-scale content delivery. Storage at various sites can be dynamically acquired from (and released back to) the cloud provider so as to support content caching, according to the current demands for the content from the different geographic regions. When storage is sufficiently expensive that not all content should be cached at all sites, two issues must be addressed: how should requests for content be routed to the cloud provider sites, and what policy should be used for caching content using the elastic storage resources obtained from the cloud provider. Existing approaches are typically designed for non-elastic storage and little is known about the optimal policies when minimizing the delivery costs for distributed elastic storage.In this paper, we propose an approach in which elastic storage resources are exploited using a simple dynamic caching policy, while request routing is updated periodically according to the solution of an optimization model. Use of pull-based dynamic caching, rather than push-based placement, provides robustness to unpredicted changes in request rates. We show that this robustness is provided at low cost. Even with fixed request rates, use of the dynamic caching policy typically yields content delivery cost within 10% of that with the optimal static placement. We compare request routing according to our optimization model to simpler baseline routing policies, and find that the baseline policies can yield greatly increased delivery cost relative to optimized routing. Finally, we present a lower-cost approximate solution algorithm for our routing optimization problem that yields content delivery cost within 2.5% of the optimal solution.  相似文献
