Evaluation of two cooling systems under a firefighter coverall

Firemen often suffer from heat strain. This study investigated two chest cooling systems for use under a firefighting suit. In nine male subjects, a vest with water soaked cooling pads and a vest with water perfused tubes were compared to a control condition. Subjects performed 30 min walking and 10 min recovery in hot conditions, while physiological and perceptual parameters were measured. No differences were observed in heart rate and rectal temperature, but scapular skin temperature and fluid loss were lower using the perfused vest. Thermal sensation was cooler for the perfused vest than for the other conditions, while the cool pad vest felt initially cooler than control. However, comfort and RPE scores were similar. We conclude that the cooling effect of both tested systems, mainly providing a (temporally) cooler thermal sensation, was limited and did not meet the expectations.

Alarm pheromone system of leaf-footed bugLeptoglossus zonatus (Heteroptera: Coreidae)

The alarm pheromone system ofLeptoglossus zonatus (Dallas) adults was shown to be composed of hexyl acetate, hexanol, hexanal, and hexanoic acid. Single components tested in the field elicited dispersive behavior of over 70% of adults. 2-(E)-Hexenal, found in the secretion of nymphs, but not in the exudates of adults, was also active against adults. In addition, first-instar nymphs responded to the four components of the alarm pheromone of adults as well as to 2-(E)-hexenal, a component of their own alarm pheromone system. Adults and nymphs possess different alarm pheromone systems, which are not specific to their own life stage. That hemipteran alarm pheromone systems are not species-specific was supported by the fact that both adult and nymphL. zonatus responded to butanoic acid, an alarm pheromone of Alydidae, which was not found in this Coreidae species.     

Acquired Predator Recognition by Fathead Minnows: Influence of Habitat Characteristics on Survival

In this study we conditioned fathead minnows (Pimephales promelas) to recognize the odor of a perch (Perca flavescens) by exposing them to perch odor coupled with minnow alarm cue. We then staged encounters between the predator and prey in order to assess whether the predator odor training had any effect on survival of the prey. We tested for a survival effect in the presence and absence of shelter. Our results indicate that fish trained with alarm signals to recognize predators gained a survival benefit during staged encounters with a predator and that habitat characteristics influenced the survival of conditioned fish.     

超低功耗智能监护报警器研究与设计

该文针对现有国内婴幼儿智能护理产品的优缺点,深入分析了如何防止睡觉受凉和尿床等问题,并对国外婴幼儿护理产品和婴幼儿护理理论进行了深入研究,设计了一种新型的智能化监护报警器。该报警器以低成本的松翰单片机为核心,采用纽扣电池供电,实现了超低功耗设计。实验表明,该装置集尿湿报警、走失报警、踢被报警、发烧报警和人工呼救多功能于一体,在具有使用安全、性能可靠、低功耗、报警及时、准确等优点的同时,还具有极好的性价比。     

基于模糊评价的资源型企业可持续发展预警系统研究与应用

国内外学者对资源可持续发展提出了大量建议与措施,但对资源型企业可持续发展预警系统的研究成果较少.为此,作者以云南驰宏公司资源型企业为例,通过对2000~2010年铅锌资源量、动态开采服务年限、铅锌产量、冶炼产能、废弃物排放量等进行详细调查和预测,研究了资源型企业可持续发展的11个影响因素.采用模糊数学方法构建了资源型企业可持续发展评价模型,计算了驰宏公司2000~2010年可持续发展度(SDI),并建立了企业可持续发展预警系统.研究结果显示,2000,2001,2006,2007年云南驰宏公司铅锌工业可持续发展度比较差,处于橙色预警区,通过在资源储量、产量增长率、三废排放量及资源综合回收率等方面进行科学规划,2008年后驰宏公司将走出可持续发展橙色预警区,表明企业制定的近期规划是正确的.利用该模型可评价资源型企业制定近期规划的合理性,并指导企业制定生产计划.     

基于Web的告警实时显示系统的设计与实现

为提高Browser/Server (B/S)系统告警监视的实时性,通过深入研究同步、异步以及“订阅/发布”3种通信方式,并对异步JavaScript和XML (AJAX)、Comet和Flex 3种技术进行比较,提出了应用Flex技术实现基于web的告警实时显示系统的方法．对Client/Server(C/S)告警实时显示系统及分别应用了AJAX、Comet和Flex技术的B/S告警实时显示系统进行了平均反应时间的测试,结果表明,该法能有效提高B/S系统告警监视的实时性.     

Interactions of Impact Shock Waves in a Thin-Walled Explosive Container. II. Impact by a Cone-Nosed Projectile

Interaction of impact shock waves that could detonate an explosive (Composition B) confined in a thin-walled container impacted by a cone-nosed projectile is numerically studied, based on the Forest Fire explosive reaction rate model. The normal impact on the container by a small projectile with a conical nose is considered. Depending on the cone angle of the nose part of the projectile, the zone of interaction of initiating shock waves can be remote from the central axis of the impact. The off-the-central-axis detonation is interpreted from the viewpoint of different interaction modes in the explosive container, which are reflected from the cassette wall, change their directions, and superimpose onto each other, leading to explosive detonation.     

实验室智能安防报警系统研究

本文主要对实验室智能安防报警系统进行了研究,完成了一种远程安防报警装置控制系统的设计,该系统综合运用单片机、ZigBee无线通信技术,在介绍了系统基本架构及工作原理的基础上,完成了包括安防报警传感器选型在内的软硬件设计过程。该智能安防报警系统完成各传感器信息实时高效的采集和逻辑判断后,向单实验室信息集中节点反馈经处理后的信息,再由主节点汇总处理各集中节点信息并进行实时显示。
