Matrices of binary or count data are modelled under a unified statistical framework using finite mixtures to group the rows and/or columns. These likelihood-based one-mode and two-mode fuzzy clusterings provide maximum likelihood estimation of parameters and the options of using likelihood ratio tests or information criteria for model comparison. Geometric developments focused on pattern detection give likelihood-based analogues of various techniques in multivariate analysis, including multidimensional scaling, association analysis, ordination, correspondence analysis, and the construction of biplots. Illustrative examples demonstrate the effectiveness of these visualisations for identifying patterns of ecological significance (e.g. abrupt versus slow species turnover).  相似文献

Soft computing techniques including fuzzy logic have been successfully applied to wireless body area networks (WBANs). However, most of the existing research works rely on manual design of the fuzzy logic controller (FLC). To address this issue, in this paper, we propose an evolutionary approach to automate the design of FLCs for cross layer medium access control in WBANs. With the goal of improving network reliability while keeping the communication delay at a low level, we have particularly studied the usefulness of three coding schemes with different levels of flexibility during the evolutionary design process. The influence of fitness functions that measure the effectiveness of each possible FLC design has also been examined carefully in order to achieve a good balance between reliability and performance. Moreover, we have utilised surrogate models to improve the efficiency of the design process. In consideration of practical usefulness, we have further identified two main design targets. The first target is to design effective FLCs for a specific network configuration. The second target focuses on designing FLCs to function across a wide range of network settings. In order to examine the usefulness of our design approach, we have utilised two widely used evolutionary algorithms, i.e. particle swarm optimisation (PSO) and differential evolution (DE). The FLC designed by our approach is also shown to outperform some related algorithms as well as the IEEE 802.15.4 standard.  相似文献

This paper suggests improved control strategies using Fuzzy Gain Scheduling of Proportional-Integral-Derivative (FGS-PID) controller for a hybrid Photovoltaic (PV) and Battery Energy Storage (BES) system under different weather conditions. The proposed scheme is implemented using a two-level control system structure, combining the benefits of the PID as well as the fuzzy logic controller (FLC) for maximum power point tracking (MPPT). Ziegler-Nichols tuning method is also employed to select the initial values of PID gains. Within the period of steady-states and transients, FGS-PID adopts the gains to ensure the stability of the control scheme. It also damps out transient fluctuations and reduces settling time. Also, BES could be employed to provide a stable and reliable power from the output of PV sources to loads. It can enhance the performance of the entire power system during the grid-connected mode. The simulation results under Matlab/Simulink show that the suggested control strategies are robustness, fast transient response and proper steady-state performance in the grid-connected mode in comparison other presented methods.  相似文献

One of the challenging and famous types of MCDM (Multiple Criteria Decision Making) problems that includes both quantitative and qualitative criteria is Facility location selection problem. For the common fuzzy MCDM problems (Type-1 fuzzy MCDM problems), the ratings of alternatives with respect to the criteria or/and the values of criteria weights, are expressed by the common fuzzy numbers. However, in the majority of cases, determining the exact membership degree for each element of the fuzzy sets which are considered for the ratings of alternatives with respect to the criteria or/and the values of criteria weights as a number in interval [0,1], is difficult. In this situation, the ratings of alternatives with respect to the criteria or/and the values of criteria weights, are expressed by the IVFNs (Interval Valued Fuzzy Numbers) and thereby the IVF-MCDM (Interval Valued Fuzzy MCDM) methods should be used. In this paper, the authors propose an IVF-TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) method based on uncertainty risk reduction in decision making process. By using this method, the reliability of the captured decisions in an IVF decision making problem is significantly increased. The proposed method is applied for solving a real application problem related to selecting a suitable location for digging some pits for municipal wet waste landfill in one of the largest cities in Iran. The proposed method is also compared with another IVF-TOPSIS method. As a result, the authors concluded that in addition to benefits such as simplicity and ease of use that exist in the previous IVF-TOPSIS methods, the proposed method has a significant reliability and flexibility and is practical for facility location selection problems and other IVF-MCDM problems.  相似文献

In 1970 Kovarik proposed approximate orthogonalization algorithms. One of them (algorithm B) has quadratic convergence but requires at each iteration the inversion of a matrix of similar dimension to the initial one. An attempt to overcome this difficulty was made by replacing the inverse with a finite Neumann series expansion involving the original matrix and its adjoint. Unfortunately, this new algorithm loses the quadratic convergence and requires a large number of terms in the Neumann series which results in a dramatic increase in the computational effort per iteration. In this paper we propose a much simpler algorithm which, by using only the first two terms in a different series expansion, gives us the desired result with linear convergence. Systematic numerical experiments for collocation and Toeplitz matrices are also described.  相似文献

The explicit inverse and determinant of a class of matrices are presented. The class under consideration is defined by 4n ? 2 parameters, analytic expressions of which form the elements of the upper Hessenberg type inverse. These analytic expressions enable recursion formulae to be obtained, which reduce the arithmetic operations to O(n 2). The Hadamard product of two specific structures' matrices provides the class presented, special cases of which are already known classes of test matrices.  相似文献

Data clustering is a technique for grouping similar and dissimilar data. Many clustering algorithms fail when dealing with multi-dimensional data. This paper introduces efficient methods for data clustering by Cuckoo Optimization Algorithm; called COAC and Fuzzy Cuckoo Optimization Algorithm, called FCOAC. The COA by inspire of cuckoo bird nature life tries to solve continuous problems. This algorithm clusters a large dataset to prior determined clusters numbers by this meta-heuristic algorithm and optimal the results by fuzzy logic. Firstly, the algorithm generates a random solutions equal to cuckoo population and with length dataset objects and with a cost function calculates the cost of each solution. Finally, fuzzy logic tries for the optimal solution. The performance of our algorithm is evaluated and compared with COAC, Black hole, CS, K-mean, PSO and GSA. The results show that our algorithm has better performance in comparison with them.  相似文献

This paper is addressing problems related to the construction of classifiers based on the Similarity Discriminant Function (SDF), in which the traditional vector representation of a pattern is replaced with matrix data. We introduce potential modifications of the matrix data structure and propose new variants of the SDF. The algorithms that we present were tested on images of handwritten digits and on photographs of human faces, taken from the ORL and CMU‐PIE databases. The results of experiments show that our modifications significantly improved the performance of the original SDF classifier.  相似文献

The work presented in this paper describes and discusses the principles of a haptic shared control between a human driver and an Electronic copilot (E-copilot) for a vehicle. The aim of the sharing control is to allow the driver to momentarily take control over the E-copilot without deactivating it nor being constrained, in order to deal with a specific situation such as avoiding an obstacle that has not been detected by the E-copilot. As the E-copilot acts simultaneously on the steering system with the driver, both have to be aware of one another's actions, which means bi-directional communication is essential. In this work, to achieve this goal, we consider the haptical interactions through the steering wheel. The torque applied by the driver on the steering system is used by the E-copilot to take into account the driver's actions while the E-copilot assistance torque is felt by the driver and used by him to understand the system's behavior. This low communication level strongly improves the cooperation between the driver and the E-copilot.The system takes into account the drivers actions thanks to a driver lane keeping model that is added to the road vehicle one in the controller synthesis step. This allows to introduce driver's interaction control variables in such a way that the E-copilot can consider conflicting objectives between the driver and the lane keeping task, and thus handle them.In order to highlight the assets of the approach, a comparison of the behaviors of a simple lane keeping E-copilot to that of a cooperative proposed here is given at the end of this paper. This comparison is achieved through computer simulations and experimental tests with a human driver carried out in the SHERPA-LAMIH interactive dynamic driving simulator. The results of these tests confirm the improvement of the level of cooperation between the human driver and the E-copilot and show that the cooperative E-copilot gives more authority to the human driver especially in hazardous situations.  相似文献
