An empirical investigation of socio-cultural factors of information sharing in China

Understanding information sharing is an important challenge to modern organizations, and is likely to be increasingly considered when IT investment decisions are made world-wide. Our research study investigated the influence of cultural factors on information sharing in China. It was postulated that social network structures such as guanxi, Confucian dynamism, and collectivism could explain the degree to which information sharing took place between people in China. It was found that guanxi, Confucian dynamism, and collectivism all had a significant influence on information sharing.     

Information technology and regulatory reformThe interorganisational effects of a technological innovation

This paper examines whether information technology can play a strategic role in supporting regulatory reforms aimed at achieving voluntary cooperation with government regulation. Analysis of the case of electronic tax return lodgment in Australia suggests that the effects of IT are contextual, and identifies positive effects of the new IT system on voluntary cooperation. However, in this case, divergence between private and public interests and uncertainty and lack of participation in regulatory decision-making appear to restrict the development of voluntary cooperation as a primary basis for government regulation.     

Computational Schemes for Flexible,Nonlinear Multi-Body Systems

This paper deals with the development of computational schemes for the dynamic analysis of flexible, nonlinear multi-body systems. The focus of the investigation is on the derivation of unconditionally stable time integration schemes for these types of problem. At first, schemes based on Galerkin and time discontinuous Galerkin approximations applied to the equations of motion written in the symmetric hyperbolic form are proposed. Though useful, these schemes require casting the equations of motion in the symmetric hyperbolic form, which is not always possible for multi-body applications. Next, unconditionally stable schemes are proposed that do not rely on the symmetric hyperbolic form. Both energy preserving and energy decaying schemes are derived that both provide unconditionally stable schemes for nonlinear multi-body systems. The formulation of beam and flexible joint elements, as well as of the kinematic constraints associated with universal and revolute joints. An automated time step selection procedure is also developed based on an energy related error measure that provides both local and global error levels. Several examples of simulation of realistic multi-body systems are presented which illustrate the efficiency and accuracy of the proposed schemes, and demonstrate the need for unconditional stability and high frequency numerical dissipation.     

Human-centred appraoches to control and information technology: European experiences

In this paper, the concept of Human-Centred Technology will be described with regard to the different dimensions of workplace, groupwork and networks and in terms of the frameworks of both society and the natural environment. These different aspects of Human-Centred Systems will be illustrated by a series of case studies representing several European countries. The report covers a wide range of research fields. The emphasis is on technology: the roles of control and information technology in enterprises today — including issues of applying AI — and the strategies of designing and implementing technology taking into account the specific aspects which characterize human-centred systems.     

A calibration method for the energy-integrating function in photovoltaic system monitoring

Solar radiation has an irregularly varying factor due to a basic day and night cycle and climatic conditions. For such conditions a data sampling interval is important to ensure the accuracy of energy monitoring in a photovoltaic system. While treating a system monitoring equipment as a black box. the author has developed the method of calibrating an energy-integrating function. At first for various input waveforms, the relationship between sampling intervals and quasi-integration outputs have been examined by trapezoidal rule. In the numerical simulation the phases of the sampling clock also are considered Then it is concluded that a sampling interval can be inspected through outside observation only by using a rectangular single pulse. By applying the pulse to the energy-integrating process, two kinds of integrated outputs can be obtained for different sampling phases. The calculated difference between both outputs can uniquely give the sampling interval being inspected. Conditions to ensure measuring accuracy are discussed and the validity of this method has been demonstrated experimentally. Practical calibrating procedures also are proposed for the integrating function of PV system monitoring.

Deep Web 研究现状与展望

随着Deep Web数量和规模的快速增长,通过对其发起查询请求以得到存储在后台数据库中的相关信息,日渐成为用户获取信息的主要方式。为了方便用户有效地利用Deep Web中的信息,越来越多的研究者致力于这一领域的研究,重点之一是Deep Web后台数据库的数据集成。由于Deep Web后台数据库存储的主要是文本信息,使得从文本处理角度出发,针对Deep Web中存储的内容进行查询与检索的研究具有十分广阔的应用前景。本文对Deep Web的研究现状进行了较为详细的分析,同时对研究的发展方向进行了展望。     

《大学信息技术基础》课程教学改革的研究

通过对福建省内高中信息技术相关课程及福建省内外《大学信息技术基础》课程设置的调研,针对当前《大学信息技术基础》教学过程中存在的一些问题,结合自己的工作实际,提出改革教学方式、方法,更新教学内容等,提高计算机基础教学质量和教学效果,以适应创新型、应用型人才培养的社会迫切需要。
