A three-year longitudinal assessment of changes in office activities following the introduction of microcomputers into a multinational bank

A longitudinal assessment of the introduction of new office technologies into a multinational bank was conducted using both task diaries and semi-structured interviews. Task diaries were administered prior to the introduction of microcomputers, several months after the introduction and several years later. Semi-structured interviews were completed after the second task diary. The assessment provides evidence of how offices adapt to changing electronic tookits. The asssessment provides ergonomists with a usable list of taks activities and the effects on task variability of the adoption of microcomputers into the work routine. It shows that when support staff are asked to use a new computer they must choose what other tasks to cut back on, which has consequences for the overall work process. Overtime increased 170% after the introduction of the computer. In a culture where professional staff have high expectations of support staff this has consequences for working relationships in terms of perceptions of the computer's utility. Support staff and professional staff differ in perceptions of control, time-saving and ability to make corrections. The assessment demonstrates the importance of multiple measurement instruments in tracking the effects of technological change on the work process. In conclusion, it is noted that the introduction of new technologies into the office must be considered in the broader office context to avoid the unintended consequences often reported in other case studies.     

A meta-analysis of mobile commerce adoption and the moderating effect of culture

This research aims to discover the general factors that influence mobile commerce adoption. A meta-analysis of previous empirical studies on individuals’ mobile commerce adoption behavior was conducted and the proposed mobile commerce adoption model was tested using structural equation modeling. Furthermore, moderator analysis was carried out using partition tests by dividing context into subgroups of eastern and western culture, to investigate the moderating effect of culture. Results confirm the proposed model, and moderator analysis indicates that culture does have specific moderating effects on mobile commerce adoption. The findings of this paper will yield theoretical and managerial implications for the future.     

Rolling and swaying motion estimation for a mobile robot by using omnidirectional optical flows

Described here is a method for estimating rolling and swaying motions of a mobile robot using optical flow. We have proposed an image sensor with a hyperboloidal mirror for the vision-based navigation of a mobile robot. Its name is HyperOmni Vision. The radial component of optical flow in HyperOmni Vision has a periodic characteristic. The circumferential component of optical flow has a symmetric characteristic. The proposed method makes use of these characteristic to estimate robustly the rolling and swaying motion of the mobile robot. Correspondence to: Y. Yagi e-mail: y-yagi@sys.es.osaka-u.ac.jp     

网络环境下公文收发系统的设计与实现

一个单位内部各部门之间公文收发是日常工作的重要内容。本文主要研究在计算机网络环境下，如何利用网络的高速数据传输能力，设计出符合我国企事业单位管理体制特点的公文收发计算机自动化处理系统，实现无纸公文办公。文中提出了两种可行的实现方案，并就其中一种方案进行了编程实现。该系统已在ＮＯＶＥＬＬ网络上测试运行，使用方便，功能完善，还可兼作电子邮件使用。     

数据挖掘技术及其在移动通信中的应用

数据挖掘是数据库研究中的一个很有应用价值的新领域,融合了数据库、人工智能、机器学习、统计学等多个领域的理论和技术。本文表述了数据挖掘的基本技术,探讨了数据挖掘技术在移动通信中的应用。     

Measuring implementation outcome: beyond success and failure

This paper proposes a framework for measuring the impact of a computer-based application in an organization. Recognizing the complexity of the implementation process, the framework is multi-dimensional: it seeks to measure the outcome of an implementation effort on both the people and tasks affected as separate from user's definition of “success”. The framework can be used to support either the quantitative or case study methodologies used in implementation research. Finally, the authors describe a field test of the framework to demonstrate its usefulness in an organizational setting.     

基于模糊力控制算法的移动机器人避障控制

根据机器人的末端执行器和外界环境表面接触与移动机器人避障控制的相似点,将力/位置控制成功应用到移动机器人的避障控制领域内.对新颖的移动机器人避障控制算法是通过在移动机器人和障碍物之间形成虚拟力场,且对其进行整定以使两者之间能保持期望的距离.因为机器人动力学模型和障碍物的不确定性会对避障控制性能造成影响,为避免碰撞,采用模糊PD的智能混合力/位置控制来整定机器人和障碍物精确距离的力场.通过仿真研究证明了算法的有效性,可为机器人设计提出可靠依据.     

MANET节点移动模型仿真研究

移动自组网（MANET）节点移动特性对网络拓扑结构有重要影响,在合理的节点移动模型下对网络性能的评估才真实可靠。通过对网络仿真软件NS2进行拓展,实现个体、群体和具有地域限制的节点移动模型,提出物理链路和路由协议2个层面的评估准则,给出不同类节点模型对路由协议性能的影响程度。对研究和评估MANET的路由协议有重要的参考价值。     

数据挖掘在移动通信中的应用

简单介绍了数据挖掘技术,数据挖掘所需要的条件、数据仓库的建立,以及移动通信中经常用的两种算法：决策树算法和K最近邻算法,并较为详尽地阐述了它们的工作原理。
