Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to explore word of mouth impact on the adoption of mobile banking in Iran. This study provides insights into factors affecting the adoption of mobile banking in Iran.Design/methodology/approach
Based on the consumer data collected through a survey, structural equations modeling and path analysis were employed to test the research model.Findings
The results revealed that “Word of Mouth” was found to be the main factor affecting users attitudes toward the use of mobile banking. “Word of Mouth” positive impact on other factors affecting the adoption of mobile banking was also approved.Research limitations/implications
The major limitations of the paper is that it studies only the Internet users and non-users are not considered.Originality/value
There are a number of factors efficiently on the adoption of mobile banking. Many researchers worked on the relationship between these parameters and their effect on each them. However, none have paid attention to the word of mouth impact of the adoption of mobile banking. This study examined effect of a policy intervention that provides an upper limit for handset subsidies on users’ intention to change handset and households’ expenses on mobile telecommunications. The Korean government has prohibited mobile network providers from providing excessive subsidies for mobile handsets to attract subscribers since Nov. 2014 according to the mobile act. Using the exogenous variation, we estimate the impact of the policy on the intention to change handsets and expenses on handset installment, total mobile communications, and online content. The longitudinal data are from the 2014 to 2015 waves of the Korea Media Panel Survey. The mobile act lowered the predicted probability of switching handsets by 0.4% points. Moreover, the mobile act increased the predicted probability of any expense on handset installment by 7.5% points and had a significant impact on the amount of expenses on handset installment, with an increase of 7.8%. The mobile act lowered users’ willingness to switch handsets and increased spending on handset installment. This increased burden in handset installment might shrink the online content market, which has a large need for government support, as well as decrease consumers’ welfare. We assert that the policy intervention on handset subsidies is questionable with regard to both consumer welfare and the healthiness of the ICT ecosystem. 相似文献

The recent development of Mobile Cloud Computing has helped in solving numerous real-life problems. The rate of growth of mobile devices has been increasing at a very high pace. Mobile devices have made substantial contributions in managing emergency situations. Owing to the mobility of mobile devices, cloudlets, and their intermittent connectivity, it may become very difficult to handle emergency situations. To address this problem, a transmission model is proposed for mobile cloudlet systems, where a mobile device is used to designate a cloudlet by using the Borda scores Method and the mobile device can offload a part of its application to this cloudlet. Energy conservation is a critical issue in resource constraint wireless sensor networks. Employing mobile sink to deliver the sensed data becomes pervasive approach to conserve sensors’ limited energy. However, mobile sink makes data delivery a hard nut to crack since nodes need to know its latest location. Providing sink’s latest location by traditional flooding, erode the energy conservation goal. In this paper, we propose a Grid-Cycle Routing Protocol (GCRP) with the aim of minimizing the overhead of updating the mobile sink’s latest location. In GCRP, sensor field is partitioned into grid of cells and for each cell a grid cell head (GCH) is elected. Cycles of four GCHs is formed. Cycle(s) involving border GCHs is called exterior cycle and said to belong to a region. Another cycle involving non-boundary GCHs is called interior cycle, connecting GCHs of different regions. When sink stays at one location, it updates the nearest GCH, which in turn updates the other GCHs through exterior and interior cycle. Moreover, we propose a set of sharing rules that govern GCHs when and with who share sink’s latest location information. The performance of GCRP is evaluated at different number of nodes and compared with existing work using NS-2.31. 相似文献
