The role of the American Board of Professional Psychology in professional mobility.

This article describes the role of certification by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) in easing the process by which psychologists move beyond their original jurisdictional boundaries to practice psychology. Meeting the requirements for licensure or certification in the various jurisdictions can be a difficult task because these requirements vary considerably from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. Other mechanisms that are available to facilitate this process include the Certificate of Professional Qualification in Psychology issued by the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards and certification by the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology. The ABPP certificate/diploma has been regarded by many state psychological associations and state boards of psychology as an appropriate way in which to recognize psychologists who are eligible for licensure/certification in a jurisdiction because of the examination requirements for board certification. The design of experiments when there are errors in all the variables

The Error-in-Variables Model (EVM) applies to a large class of problems in parameter estimation in which there is error in all the variables. This property makes it of more general applicability than the widely used technique of ordinary Least Squares. While there is a voluminous literature on EVM there is nothing on a general method for designing experiments when EVM applies. In this paper we present an extension of the concept of D-optimality to provide such a general method. It is illustrated by applying it to the estimation of copolymer reactivity ratios and to fitting an ellipse.     

On an invariance principle for unilateral contact at a bimaterial elastic interface

This paper examines the axisymmetric elastostatic problem related to the unilateral receding contact at a pre-compressed smooth bimaterial elastic interface. The separation at the interface is caused by the action of axisymmetric stress fields of unequal magnitude, which are applied at any location of the separate halfspace regions. The analysis of the problem focuses on the determination of the zone of separation as a function of the pre-compression, the magnitudes and locations of the axisymmetric stress fields inducing the separation, and the elasticity characteristics of the halfspace regions. It is found that the radius of the separation zone can be evaluated in explicit form. In the particular instance when the loadings applied at the surface of the halfspace regions are equal in magnitude and distribution, the analysis reveals that the radius of the separation zone is independent of the elasticity properties of the halfspace regions and can be evaluated in exact closed form.

变速铣削的试验研究

通过试验考证了变速铣削的减振效果和机床电机电流的波动幅度，试验结果表明，变速铣削同样具有明显的减振效果。机床电机电流虽有波动，但波动幅度不大，不会影响电机的正常使用，变速铣削具有良好的应用前景。     

Optical and thermal properties of poly(ethylene oxide) doped with MnCl2 salt

The optical and thermal properties of prepared poly(ethylene oxide)/MnCl₂ films were studied as a function of MnCl₂ concentration at room temperature. The observed optical energy gap (E_opt) and energy gap tail (ΔE) were determined from the measured absorption spectra. It was found that the optical energy gap decreases with MnCl₂ concentration, and the absorption coefficient reduces sharply at concentration of 5 wt% MnCl₂ compared with the neat PEO. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) measurement shows that the heat of fusion increases with the MnCl₂ concentration, while the melting point decreases. Correlation between the observed optical energy gap and heat of fusion is presented.
