Results are presented for micromachined plastic waveguide bandpass iris filters for W-band applications using a cost-effective polymer micro hot embossing process in conjunction with metallic electroplating and sealing techniques. The prototype filter has an 8-μm thick electroplated gold layer on a polymeric WR-10 waveguide with a 5-cavity Chebyschev-type design. Measurement results show center frequency of 96.77 GHz with a bandwidth of 3.15%, a loaded quality factor 31.73 and an unloaded quality factor for a single cavity resonator is 1210.6, respectively. A minimum insertion loss of −1.22 dB and return loss of better than −9.3 dB have been measured over the entire passband.  相似文献

Two recently proposed design by analysis criteria of plastic collapse based on plastic work concepts, the plastic work (PW) criterion and the plastic work curvature (PWC) criterion, are applied to a strain hardening pipe bend arrangement subject to combined pressure and in-plane moment loading. Calculated plastic pressure–moment interaction surfaces are compared with limit surfaces, large deformation analysis instability surfaces and plastic load surfaces given by the ASME Twice Elastic Slope criterion and the tangent intersection criterion. The results show that both large deformation theory and material strain hardening have a significant effect on the elastic–plastic response and calculated static strength of the component. The PW criterion is relatively simple to apply in practice and gives plastic load values similar to the tangent intersection criterion. The PWC criterion is more subjective to apply in practice but it allows the designer to follow the development of the gross plastic deformation mechanism in more detail. The PWC criterion indicates a more significant strain hardening strength enhancement effect than the other criteria considered, leading to a higher calculated plastic load.  相似文献

Thermal cycles have been performed both outside and inside a transmission electron microscope (TEM) in order to analyze the evolution of the microstructure of Al, 0.5% Cu, 1% Si thin films deposited onto oxidized Si substrates. It is shown that grain growth and dislocation activity start almost simultaneously and cooperate throughout the plastic regime of the stress–temperature curve to generate bamboo-type grains with low dislocation density. Si precipitates serve as anchoring points for dislocations and grain boundaries. Thermal cycling and diffusion cause the growth of these precipitates and a diminution of their number. Diffusion also proves to play an important role regarding plastic relaxation at the Al/SiOx interface and at the grain boundaries where an intense hillock and whisker formation has been observed in scanning electron microscope (SEM). The stress–temperature evolution is discussed in light of these observations.  相似文献

Plastic design of eccentrically braced frames, I: Moment-shear interaction   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
With reference to eccentrically braced frames (EBFs), the issues regarding moment-shear interaction in plastic design are examined. In particular, a procedure for computing the ultimate shear forces and end moments of intermediate links for a given collapse mechanism is presented. The requirements to be fulfilled are the yielding condition, the flow rule, the kinematic compatibility condition depending on the examined collapse mechanism and, finally, the minimisation of the internal work according to the kinematic theorem of plastic collapse.Moreover, through the definition of an equivalent moment, the link is modelled as an element with plastic hinges in simple bending. This is obtained by imposing the equivalence between the internal work developed by the actual link and the internal work corresponding to the simplified theoretical model. Therefore, moment-shear interaction in plastic design can be accounted for by means of formulations which are formally coincident with those commonly used for plastic hinges in simple bending.Finally, the kinematic theorem of plastic collapse is used to define the design requirements to be fulfilled to prevent yielding of the beam part outside of the link and yielding of the bracing element. The additional design rules to be satisfied for failure mode control of multi-storey EBFs are presented in a companion paper.  相似文献

Abstract— This paper presents an overview of the display requirements for automotive applications and introduces alternating‐current thin‐film electroluminesent (ACTFEL) displays for automobiles. An ACTFEL has advantages over other displays under sunlight and low temperature conditions. A method integrating theoretical analysis, numerical simulation and experimental methods was adopted to solve the existing problems, including fillet less-plumping, cracks and wrinkling, in the forming process of a double curvature, thin-wall aluminum alloy part (DCTAP) of the aircraft skin. The mechanical properties of a 0.5 mm thick aluminum alloy sheet (2A12) were obtained through the uniaxial tensile test. The optimal blank holder force (BHF), blank shape (BS) and blank dimension (BD) were obtained by simulation using DYNAFORM. A stamping die was fabricated for experiment validation. The experimental results obtained by the coordinate grid strain analysis technology (CGSAT) agreed well with the simulation results, which demonstrated that the method presented here conduced to improving the formability of DCTAP.  相似文献

Research in psychology and communication shows a strong advantage for visual displays in comparison with typical language, and technological innovations in computer graphics and printing capabilities now make them cost-effective as well. It can be argued that the greater use of evidence-based visualization strategies can enhance communication occurring in the interactions among and between health service delivery counselors, clients, evaluators, administrators, and clinical supervisors. In this article we present conceptual, empirical, and practical reasons for increasing the use of node-link (box-line) graphic representations in psychological treatment systems. These general-purpose displays offer clinical advantages by clearly representing interrelationships among ideas, emotions, and actions that are often lost in verbal discourse.
