In this work ozonization was studied as pretreatment for two Mexican refractory ores in order to increase the gold and silver extraction. Two methods for contacting ozone with the mineral were studied (indirect and direct). The indirect method did not change the precious metals recoveries for mineral sample A, but increased those of mineral B (from 53 to 88% for gold and from 26 to 78% for silver). The direct pretreatment, only tested in mineral A, did not affect gold and silver recoveries but decreased the extraction time from 40 to 24 hours for maximum metal recovery. 相似文献

Within the scope of the present study the cold-bonding process was used for the recycling of waste filter powder which was mixed with two different binders in different concentrations; alumino-silicate cement and potassium water glass, and combinations of these two materials, and hardened at room temperature. Selected samples were also fired at 1200 °C. Tests to determine tensile and compressive strength, density and porosity, as well as dilatometry and SEM analyses, were performed. As expected, compressive strength increased as a function of the concentration of the potassium water glass. When combinations of both binders were used, compressive strengths were higher, but a significant increase in strength was also achieved by firing the samples. The compressive strengths of the non-fired samples were in the range from 0.8 to 2.4 MPa, whereas after firing strengths of up to 36 MPa were obtained. During the firing density increased, and porosity was reduced, while the average pore size increased. The results of dilatometric analysis showed that the granulate produced with cement shrink upon firing up to 300 °C, but then start slowly to expand, whereas the granulate produced by water glass first expanded on firing up to 800 °C, and then began to shrink swiftly. In the case of combinations of the two binders, shrinkage as well as expansion on firing was less pronounced. The current study focuses on the analysis of sessile-drop interfacial reactions between two synthetic slags (based on average ash chemistries of coal and petcoke feedstock) and two refractory materials (90 wt% Cr2O3-10 wt% Al2O3 and 100 wt% Al2O3), using a Confocal Scanning Laser Microscope (CSLM). Ground slag samples (less than 325 mesh) were placed at specific microstructure locations on refractory substrates and heated to 1500 °C in an atmosphere of CO/CO2 gas mixture (volume ratio = 1.8), using a gold-image heating chamber. Cross-sections of the slag/refractory interface indicated unique slag penetration into preferred areas of the refractory and grain dissolution into the slag which promoted spalling of the refractory. Initially, the slag attacked both grain boundaries and fine microstructure areas, freeing alumina grains into the slag. The formation of VOx-based crystalline material in the petcoke slag was found to alter the liquid composition. Chemical spalling of Cr-containing crystal layer also facilitated degradation of the refractory. 相似文献

Fungal pretreatment of sulfides in refractory gold ores 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
This study assessed the capability of the fungus, Phanerochaete chrysosporium, to decompose pyrite, arsenopyrite and a sulfide-containing flotation concentrate in an effort to develop a microbial process for pretreating refractory gold ores. The extent of biotransformation was monitored by analyzing for iron, sulfur and arsenic in incubation solutions, and for sulfide sulfur in the residual solids. The results were then expressed as percentages of the initial weights. For arsenopyrite, 1.5 wt.%, 7.2 wt.% and 10.3 wt.% of iron, arsenic and sulfur respectively were present as soluble constituents in the incubation solution within 21 days of fungal treatment, whereas for pyrite, there was 1.2 wt.% iron and 6.0 wt.% sulfur. For the same processing period in the case of the flotation concentrate, 1.8 wt.%, 6.1 wt.% and 10.7 wt.% respectively of iron, arsenic and sulfur remained in solution. Overall, the decomposition of sulfide sulfur in the samples was 15 wt.%, 35 wt.% and 57 wt.% respectively for pyrite, arsenopyrite and the flotation concentrate. Changes in sulfide sulfur concentration and the formation of oxide phases during fungal treatment were confirmed using Raman spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction analysis. These results suggest that P. chrysosporium is a potential microorganism for oxidative decomposition of metal sulfides associated with refractory gold ores. 相似文献
