Building computational institutions for agents with RoleX

While the sociality of software agents drives toward the definition of institutions for multi agent systems, their autonomy requires that such institutions are ruled by appropriate norm mechanisms. Computational institutions represent useful abstractions. In this paper we show how computational institutions can be built on top of the RoleX infrastructure, a role-based system with interesting features for our aim. We achieve a twofold goal: on the one hand, we give concreteness to the institution abstractions; on the other hand, we demonstrate the flexibility of the RoleX infrastructure.

Measuring the impact of a major project management educational program: The PMP case in Finmeccanica

This work aims at providing evidence of the impact of project management training programs. The research focuses on the impact of training effectiveness (higher learning) on the project managers' competencies (applied behaviors). Data have been collected within PMP-Project Management Program: a corporate training program developed and delivered through an academic–industrial collaboration between Politecnico di Milano University and the Education and Human Resources Development Department of Finmeccanica SpA. The program started in 2007 and has involved more than 2300 participants worldwide so far. The empirical analyses are based on an extensive survey conducted one year (rolling) after the training activities. The analysis of the relationships among the different variables provides evidence of the positive impact of training effectiveness on project management competencies. Moreover, the results show that two other variables, role-training matching and environment factors, have a strong conjoint effect, significantly increasing the impact of training on the project management competencies.

A Reflection on the Role of the Landscape Architect in American Health-care Delivery

This paper is in response to a call for 'visioning' made to members of the American Society of Landscape Architects at their 100th anniversary celebration in 1999. At the time, the society was in a debate about the roles that landscape architects may assume as a new era of technological change is entered. The emerging speciality area of therapeutic site design is addressed, and the particular demands that it will place upon designers as they seek to interface with the medical community are considered. Some of the institutional realities of designing within the American medical model are presented, and preparatory suggestions for all designers as they embark on work in a relatively uncharted territory of patients, prognoses and disease process are offered.     

基于LDAP技术的协同商务认证与访问控制的实现

协同商务安全问题是当前研究热点,现有认证体系存在不适于分布式环境的缺点,在一定程度上制约着协同商务的发展。提出一种改进方法,通过在企业内部架设LDAP服务器低成本地分流CA服务器负荷,同时利用属性证书,实现对企业内部资源基于角色的访问控制。
