Utilizing Alternative Energy Sources In France

The relative merits of various alternative-energy sources are discussed with particular reference to their suitability in the French context. the case is presented for decentralized solar power as against centralized solar-power production, and some test installations in France are described. the potential for geothermal power is examined, and it is shown that the resource is essentially nonrenewable. A history of wind generation in France is presented, and power extraction from the seas is discussed, with particular reference to the Rance tidal-power scheme. While the public romance with alternative-energy schemes is accepted, it is pointed out that this may only last for as long as their implementation is on a small scale.

Ordnance survey maps as sources of information about the landscape

Ordnance Survey maps have formed the most widely used and most nationally consistent historical record of the British landscape. A recent review has testified to the value placed upon this record by a wide range of organisations and groups. This paper summarises the effects of new technology and the changing financial circumstances under which OS operates on the Survey's method of operations. OS now does not produce maps so much as 'spin them off from a constantly up-dated topographic database. The products produced are increasingly determined on economic criteria. As a consequence, the continuation of the public record is not a business imperative for OS and, to complicate matters still further, the Legal Deposit Libraries have at least short-term difficulty in moving from soon-to-be-curtailed microfilm records to digital versions. The paper seeks further input from those involved with landscape research on the importance of the historical record.     

高等院校学生营养现状及对策研究——以宁波大学科技学院为例

本文通过对宁波大学科技学院各年级各专业学生营养状况的问卷调查,分析总结了当前学院学生的基本营养状况和饮食行为习惯,并就如何提高学院学生的营养意识和健康水平提出了建议,为学院学生工作管理者及膳食营养管理者开展营养教育、膳食改善等工作提供有益参考。     

NATURAL RESOURCE ASSET MANAGEMENT AND LAND AND SPATIAL PLANNING

At the beginning, the author examines the concepts of natural environment, natural resource, and natural resource asset and the ecological services what natural resources could provide as ecosystems, including supporting services, provisioning services, regulating services, and cultural services. The author stresses that, in China, the survey and assessment of resource assets face many difficulties in defining ownerships and tenures, rights and responsibilities, and valuation, and extensive exploitation and utilization still dominates the country’s natural resource management. He argues that ecological damage and environmental degradation often resulted from overexploitation of resources; on the whole, China’s recent ecological restoration has not seen a substantial improvement, largely resulting from the separate and inconsistent practice, ill enforcement, and the weak public awareness of ecological remediation and restoration in the country. He highlights that China’s new reform of a Super-Ministry System (including the establishments of the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment), as well as the implementation of the Integrated Planning policy, has facilitated an integrated management on natural resource conservation. Finally, the author underscores that, in the future, the Chinese government ought to coordinate its land and spatial planning with domestic socio-economic planning, and urban planning professionals are expected to go beyond engineering and technical explorations and realize planning approaches as tools that would truly and efficiently cope with societal challenges and improve the quality of development.

Overview of the local production process of raw milk butter in Wallonia (Belgium)

This study aims to describe the procedures and practices used in local production of raw milk butter. The demand for local products is increasing; hence, there is a need to describe the practices used in the artisanal production of raw milk butter. Therefore, a survey of 147 raw milk butter producers was carried out. The results from the survey indicate that there is not one single way to produce butter at artisanal level. In terms of maturation, six temperature sequences were distinguished. Attention is required at every step of production starting from breeding.     

基于Android的移动终端GPS测量系统的设计与开发

本文针对手机GPS功能进行移动应用开发,设计并实现了基于Android平台的移动终端GPS测量系统.在分析学生野外测量实习需求的基础上,对系统进行了功能模块划分;在系统的程序模块详细设计中,着重探讨了数据库的设计与地块长度/面积计算方法.测试结果表明,该系统已能替代GPS手持终端,满足野外测量实习的需要.

本文是中国非开挖技术协会对2005年非开挖行业的调研报告，文中较详细地提供了包括水平定向钻进、顶管和管线修复等领域在2005年的产值、投产设备、工程量等数据，并通过这些数据分析了我国非开挖行业的进展情况及其存在的问题。报告中也对比了我国与美国的非开挖市场，表明我国的非开挖市场还有着极大的发展空间。
