The precise control of manipulators depends nonlinearly on the velocity of the motion as well as on manipulator configuration and commanded acceleration requiring complex control strategies. This paper presents a useful tool for identifying and quantifying nonlinear effects appearing during the motion of any manipulator, the Nonlinear Performance Index (npi). The npi takes into account not only the geometrical parameters defining the manipulator but also its structural dynamics through the use of inertial parameters like mass, inertia, centre of mass... The npi can be used in the design stage for analysing and reducing these undesirable nonlinear effects in any general motion or in the trajectory planning looking for paths along which more precise control is expected. We consider a network of periodically running railway lines. Investments are possible to increase the speed and to improve the synchronisation of trains. The model also includes random delays of trains and the propagation of delays across the network. We derive a cost‐benefit analysis of investments, where the benefit is measured in reduced waiting time for passengers changing lines. We also estimate the actual mean waiting time simulating the train delays. This allows us to analyse the impact that an increasing synchronisation of the timetable has on its stability. Simulation is based on an analytical model obtained from queueing theory. We use sophisticated adaptive evolutionary algorithms, which send off avant‐garde solutions from time to time to speed up the optimisation process. As there is a high correlation between scheduled and estimated waiting times for badly synchronised timetables, we are even able to include the time consuming simulation into our optimisation runs. 相似文献

In this paper, a modified particle swarm optimisation algorithm is proposed for protein sequence motif discovery. Protein sequences are represented as a chain of symbols and a protein sequence motif is a short sequence that exists in most of the protein sequence families. Protein sequence symbols are converted into numbers using a one to one amino acid translation table. The simulation uses EGF protein and C2H2 Zinc Finger protein families obtained from the PROSITE database. Simulation results show that the modified particle swarm optimisation algorithm is effective in obtaining global optimum sequence patterns, achieving 96.9 and 99.5 classification accuracy respectively in EGF and C2H2 Zinc Finger protein families. Abstract Several dimers: C120, C140, C130 and their oxygen‐containing derivatives as well as some oligomers or polymers of the well known spherical fullerenes have been synthesized so far. Some of the formulas attributed to such compounds represent the first steps in a more complex fate leading to trivalent capped tubulenes. Such a way could even be followed by functionalized fullerenes. A detailed network transformation is given for C60 and its mono‐ and di‐epoxy derivatives. The idea of non-hierarchical production networks consisting of autonomous enterprises has been present in scientific community for more than 20 years. Although some global corporations are using their own production networks across continents, they are not similar to the original idea of non-hierarchical production networks in many aspects. It seems that this idea waited for production systems to acquire proper information and communications technology (ICT) or new industrial platforms, like Industry 4.0. The result is a new type of production network called Cyber-Physical Production Network (CPPN). The CPPN is, from ICT point of view, ready to act as non-hierarchical production networks consisting of autonomous production systems with many automated processes. One of the most important processes of the CPPN is a selection of optimal partners (enterprises) to be part of a new virtual enterprise, created inside production network. An optimisation problem emerges in this process, and it is called Partner Selection Problem (PSP). It is non-polynomial-hard combinatorial problem. Since metaheuristic algorithms are well-proven in solving that kind of problem, a specially designed metaheuristic algorithm derived from ant colony optimisation and named the HUMANT (HUManoid ANT) algorithm is used in this paper. The objective of this paper is to develop an optimised maintenance strategy for the rural road network of Kerala state. This is accomplished with the development of a bi-objective deterministic optimisation model which simultaneously satisfies the objectives of both minimisation of total maintenance cost and maximisation of performance of the road network. The model is capable of planning the maintenance activities over a multi-year planning period. The performance of the road network is accounted using the composite index, namely Pavement Condition Index. The constraint-based genetic algorithm was used as the optimisation tool since it very well takes care of the combinatorial nature of the network-level pavement maintenance programming. The applicability of the model is illustrated using a case study for the rural road network of Kerala state in India. The effort made through this research work to develop a suitable Pavement Maintenance and Management System for rural road network can lead to the proper maintenance and upkeep of the rural roads, thereby triggering a positive impact on the Indian economy. 相似文献
