Speakers gaze at objects while preparing intentionally inaccurate labels for them.

When describing scenes, speakers gaze at objects while preparing their names (Z. M. Griffin & K. Bock, 2000). In this study, the authors investigated whether gazes to referents occurred in the absence of a correspondence between visual features and word meaning. Speakers gazed significantly longer at objects before intentionally labeling them inaccurately with the names of similar things (e.g., calling a horse a dog) than when labeling them accurately. This held for grammatical subjects and objects as well as agents and patients. Moreover, the time spent gazing at a referent before labeling it with a novel word or accurate name was similar and decreased as speakers gained experience using the novel word. These results suggest that visual attention in speaking may be directed toward referents in the absence of any association between their visual forms and the words used to talk about them. Teaching-Material Design Center: An ontology-based system for customizing reusable e-materials

Use of electronic teaching materials (e-material) to support teaching is a trend. e-Material design is therefore an important issue. Currently, most e-material providers offer a package of solutions for different purposes. However, not all teachers and learners need everything from a single package. A preferable alternative is to find useful material from different packages and combine them for a particular course. Currently, most educators collect the material manually, which is time-consuming and may result in missed material. In this paper, we describe a system – the Teaching-Material Design Center, which follows the standard of Sharable Content Object Reference Model – to separate e-material for use as teaching templates and learning objects and to label the material with use of semantic metadata for searching. This system can find existing teaching templates and learning objects for e-material designers and provide a convenient environment for constructing customized e-material for different requirements. We describe the implementation and evaluation of the proposed system for a course. Our system is efficient in finding teaching templates and learning objects and shortening the e-material development process.     

Lowering the erosion wear of long blades of the last stages by optimum hanging

Problems of optimum hanging of long rotor blades of the last stages of steam turbines are considered. Causes of nonuniform erosion wear of the inlet edges connected with inaccurate location of holes for the external damper coupling on the chord of the profile are determined. Methods for optimizing the hanging of blades for raising the reliability of the last stages are suggested. 无染色牛肝过氧化氢酶薄晶的图象处理

本文根据Ｐ．Ｎ．Ｔ．Ｕｎｗｉｎ和Ｒ．Ｈｅｎｄｅｒｓｏｎ等人提出的对生物大分子晶体的囹象处理方法，对无染色的牛肝过氧化氢酶薄晶的显微象和衍射图进行了图象处理，最后得到了牛肝过氧化氢酶薄晶的二维结构。从中可以看出，牛肝过氧化氢酶薄晶的一个单胞由４个子胞组成，４个子胞排列方向各异。     

静态水热脱铝处理对HZSM-5分子筛的结构、酸性和催化性能的影响

开发了一种静态水热脱铝的方法。HZSM-5经此法处理后,正戊烷的裂解活性增加,脱氢和芳构化性能加强。可用改变处理温度的方法来控制脱铝的程度。用XRD和吡啶吸附红外技术进行了研究。HZSM-5分子筛催化剂性能的变化用非骨架铝产生的强L酸中心来解释。
