This paper describes a technique for adapting the Morris sliding garbage collection algorithm to execute on parallel machines with shared memory. The algorithm is described within the framework of an implementation of the parallel logic language Parlog. However, the algorithm is a general one and can easily be adapted to parallel Prolog systems and to other languages. The performance of the algorithm executing a few simple Parlog benchmarks is analyzed. In this study, we melted four types of waste asbestos containing material such as spread asbestos, plasterboard asbestos,
slate asbestos and asbestos 99 wt%, in a melting furnace at 1,450–1,550 that uses a mixture of hydrogen and oxygen (Brown’s
gas) as a fuel. More volatile components (CaO, K2O) are enriched in spread asbestos, plasterboard asbestos, and slate asbestos, while less volatile compounds (SiO2, Fe2O3, MgO) remain in asbestos 99%. Through basicity of raw materials, spread asbestos, plasterboard asbestos, and slate asbestos
were found to have more alkalinity, and asbestos 99% was found more acidic. SEM and EDX results revealed that all raw materials
had various kinds of asbestos fiber. Spread asbestos, plasterboard asbestos, and slate asbestos were considered as tremolite
asbestos, whereas asbestos 99% was considered as chrysotile asbestos. It was further confirmed by SEM and XRD studies that
all waste materials contained some crystalline structures which transformed into amorphous glassy structure on melting. Also,

There are vast zones of clay soils which are generally extracted up to 3m deep (active layer). Owing to humidity variations throughout the year, this type of soil causes much damage to structures due to continuous changes in volume. Very often the clay is discarded and substituted by inert materials at the construction stage. The use of hydrated lime with this type of soil is a treatment that aims to inhibit the already volumetric instability by using the resulting mixture as inert material (Nelson, J.D., Miller, D.J.: Expansive Soils, Problems and Practice in Foundation and Pavement Engineering. John Wiley & Sons, Inc., USA, (1992)). Additionally, it is known that such a mixture also improves the strength properties, and it is possible to use it as a resistant inert composite, at low cost, for construction material. Nevertheless, due to the lack of tracking of this composite over time, safety issues related to the durability of such properties are uncertain. Because of the above, in this work, the composite was subjected to a constant exposure to temperature to simulate the evolution process of the composition on a laboratory scale, assuming that the acquired properties originate from the mineralogical composition created at the time of the sample. Reviews the book, Methods of Research (see record 1955-00057-000). The book is a lengthy volume addressed to "field workers, graduate students and members of the senior division of the undergraduate college who would evaluate the quality of conclusions, either as producers or consumers of research." The book has a number of collateral values which make it a useful reference work, including extensive bibliographies. The reviewer notes, though, that the work carries implications which will trouble many readers. It implies the primacy of data collection and treatment over the process of reflection from whence come the theories and hypotheses which direct the choice of data to be collected. It carries implications that all kinds of data collection are equally respectable, from an intellectual point of view, as indeed they are where only procedural questions arise. It implies that the student can be trained to "evaluate the quality of conclusions" on the basis of acquaintanceship and reference knowledge, i.e., knowledge of where to go in order to acquire the competency which will make one capable of asking the significant questions in the evaluation of the quality of conclusions.
