An introduction to Wu's method for mechanical theorem proving in geometry

Wu's algebraic method for mechanically proving geometry theorems is presented at a level as elementary as possible with sufficient examples for further understanding the complete method.The work reported here was supported by NSF Grant DCR-8503498.     

一种高速浮点加法器的设计实现

浮点加法器是协处理器的核心运算部件，是实现浮点指令各种运算的基础，其设计优化是提高浮点运算速度和精度的关键途径。文章从浮点加法器算法和电路实现的角度给出设计方法，并且提出动态与静态结合设计进位链的方案以及前导O预测面积与速度的折衷方法。动态与静态结合设计进位链的方法有效地降低了功耗，提高了速度，改善了性能。目前已经嵌入协处理器的设计中，并且流片测试成功。     

Does the alliance cause good outcome? Recommendations for future research on the alliance.

Research has consistently documented that the quality of the therapeutic alliance is related to the outcome of diverse psychotherapies. Insufficient attention, however, has been directed at identifying the nature and magnitude of the causal relationship between the alliance and outcome. In this commentary, we discuss the major threats to causal interpretation of alliance-outcome correlations and provide suggestions for future research that would help clarify the extent to which the alliance causes positive outcomes. Assuming the alliance is a causal factor in relation to outcome, we provide recommendations for research on the alliance that would attempt to improve patient care by enhancing the alliance. 酮亚胺对水性聚氨酯性能的改进

用丙酮分别和乙二胺、己二胺反应制备酮亚胺,并以其作为潜伏性扩链剂改善水性聚氨酯(PU)的性能。研究了酮亚胺以不同方式、加量对水性PU漆膜的厚度、硬度、耐水性、耐酸性、热稳定性和机械性能的影响。结果表明,采用丙酮缩乙二胺扩链的水性PU乳液的漆膜的耐水性优于用丙酮缩己二胺和用水扩链的PU乳液的漆膜,且加入过量的酮亚胺扩链效果较好,但其热稳定性并没有得到明显提高。     

基于Petri网的供需链设计优化研究

供需链设计优化问题由于其自身的复杂性而成为一个极具挑战性的研究课题。本文把Petri网与遗传算法结合起来，用于研究供需链设计优化，构建一个供需链原型测试系统，并对小汽车制造供需链系统进行了实例分析。     

Simulation-based sequential analysis of Markov switching stochastic volatility models

We propose a simulation-based algorithm for inference in stochastic volatility models with possible regime switching in which the regime state is governed by a first-order Markov process. Using auxiliary particle filters we developed a strategy to sequentially learn about states and parameters of the model. The methodology is tested against a synthetic time series and validated with a real financial time series: the IBOVESPA stock index (São Paulo Stock Exchange).     

Mind, brain, and self in psychoanalysis: Therapeutic implications of the mind-body relation.

Theoretical and empirical findings regarding the mind-body relation and its integration within a concept of the self-as-person lead to certain therapeutic implications and applications. The mind-set of the analyst or psychotherapist regarding the integration of mind-body can have important reverberations, which can dictate decisions for therapeutic intervention and management. Implications for conceptualizing technical modifications in analytic therapy are suggested. Conceptualization of mind and brain operating as an integrated and functional unity contribute to better understanding aspects of mental functioning that remain beyond the reach of conscious awareness and direct therapeutic processing. Particular attention is paid to the issue of combining medications clinically with psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. Future integration of psychoanalysis with advancing trends in therapeutic intervention and with rapidly expanding neurobiological understanding of mental actions as related to brain activity may require a deepening awareness of complexities of the mind-body relation and a more analytically meaningful resolution of the problem. Role of perfectionism and personality disorder features in response to brief treatment for depression.

Using data from the Treatment of Depression Collaborative Research Program (TDCRP), the authors compared the role of patients' perfectionism and features of personality disorder (PD) in the outcome of brief treatment for depression. Data were extracted as to patients' intake levels of symptoms; perfectionism; and PD features, measured as continuous variables, as well as their symptoms at termination; their contribution to the therapeutic alliance; and their satisfaction with social relations. Poorer therapeutic outcome was demonstrated for patients with elevated levels of perfectionism and odd-eccentric and depressive PD features. Patients' contribution to therapeutic alliance and satisfaction with social relations were predicted by perfectionism but not by PD features. Results highlight the central role played by patients' personality in the course of brief treatment for depression. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2010 APA, all rights reserved)
