动力换档有级自动变速箱的一种新的控制原理的概论

动力换档即自动变速器传统的换档是采用脱开A档离合器和接合B档离合器来使A档换到B档，本文试用一个第三离合器的设想，实质上，这种第三离合器可以作为传统的离合器之一，只用于其他档位换档，这就意味着可以在原来的变速器内采用一个最新的控制软件，试验在传统的控制原理协调平顺性和磨损之间关系已不存在困难，该磨损或不平顺性大约可降低为按照传统挂高档的一半，本文发现在采用一个附加离合器的最大趋向是它属于比挂高档高的高档，这里采用一个普通和简单的模型来进行理想研究，而仿真实例则采用一个齿轮箱的一个更加详细的模型。     

Constructing Chinese characters: keypad design for mobile phones

Increased use of mobile phones and associated services in China highlights the need for effective Chinese input methods for mobile devices. Mapping thousands of characters to a standard telephone keypad is a significant challenge. Structure-based methods provide an appealing known-character/known-code solution, but assigning multiple strokes to each key forces users to learn new, often unfamiliar, mappings. Using an established stroke input method, our study revealed important effects of keypad legend on performance. Novice user performance was evaluated with several alternative keypad designs. The results confirmed that both abstract symbols and concrete examples helped improve the usability of the keypad in Chinese text-entry tasks. Further, combining abstract symbols and concrete examples resulted in performance nearly tripling as compared to the original design. The stroke-to-key mapping accuracy also increased significantly. Handwriting analysis confirmed that the reduced errors are directly associated with the keypad-based text-entry technique.     

Word-Representation-Based Method for Extracting Organizational Events from Online Media

Online social media exhibit massive organizational event relevant messages, and the well categorized event information can be useful in many real-world applications. In this paper, we propose a research framework to extract high quality event information from massive online media data. The main contributions lie in two aspects: First, we present an event-extraction and event-categorization system for online media data; second, we present a novel approach for both discovering important event categories and classifying extracted events based on word representation and clustering model. Experimental results with real dataset show that the proposed framework is effective to extract high quality event information.     

Category-specific scene categorization

Scene categorization with category-specific visual-word construction and image representation is proposed in this study. The proposed scene categorization has effective discriminative ability and class extendibility. The reasons are listed as follows. First, since the visual-word construction and image representation are category-specific, the corresponding learning model for classification has substantial discriminating power. Second, since the visual-word construction and image representation are category-specific, image features related to the original classes need not be recreated when new classes are added, which minimizes reconstruction overhead. Experimental results confirm that the accuracy of the proposed method is superior to existing methods with single-type features both in single-scale and in multi-scale versions.
