Java based replicated server objects and their remote method invocations in a distributed environment

A distributed system is said to be fault‐tolerant if it is able to provide important services despite partial failures of the computers or software objects in the system. These systems are needed to support applications such as remote access and control, virtual mobile offices and wide area collaborative systems where there are chances of failures in the network and software objects. Fault‐tolerance is usually achieved by replicating the objects in the system. Traditional distributed applications constructed using Java RMI (remote method invocation) are not fault‐tolerant because of the lack of support of object replication. The objective of the present work is to design a remote method invocation that supports server object replication. To provide a fault‐tolerant service to the remote client objects, server objects are actively replicated. The problems associated with the method invocation in the context of active server object replication are presented and solutions are discussed and implemented. Iterative procedure for solution of sylvester generalized matrix equation

DYNAMIC ANALYSES AND ROBUST STEERING CONTROLLER DESIGN FOR AUTOMATED LANE GUIDANCE OF HEAVY‐DUTY VEHICLES

In this paper, we present various linear analyses of the linearized lateral dynamics of heavy‐duty vehicles (HDVs) (tractor‐semitrailer type), which include time domain, frequency domain and pole/zero analyses. These analyses are conducted to examine the vehicle response to the steering input subjected to variations of speed, road adhesion coefficient, cargo load in the trailer, and look‐ahead distance for the lateral deviation sensor. These parameters (uncertainties) have significant influence on vehicle dynamics. It has been shown that redefining the look‐ahead lateral error as the controlled output has a favorable impact on the lateral control problem. Based on these analyses, a robust steering controller using H_∞ loop‐shaping procedure is designed for a tractor semitrailer combination to follow the road center line on both curved and straight highway sections. The proposed controller ensures the robust performance under model uncertainties which include varying vehicle longitudinal speed, road adhesion coefficient, and cargo load in the trailer. The performance of the designed controller is evaluated by simulations and validated by experiments.     

Further remarks for the matrix type-B codes

Different philosophies lie behind the detecting and correcting error patterns in a real communication channel. The sceptic points in choosing an efficient code, specifically the matrix type-B code, were pointed out in Refs. 1 and 2.Some more points are shown here. As a result the matrix type-B code is found to be a best choice. Some more theoretical aspects for this code are also given. These are useful for the realization and testing of an encoding-decoding algorithm with IC's used in a unique way for its implementation.     

实时图像处理器乒乓帧存结构

利用TMS320VC33,EPF10K50和CY7C106IBV33研制了基于SRAM“乒、乓”帧存结构的硬件电路,并分析了工作时序和设计重点。在Quartus1I8．0及CC4．1的开发环境下,进行了VHDL,AHDL,C语言驱动和图像处理程序的编写和调试。结果表明,该系统在1280×1024@60Hz模式下能够稳定地工作,已得到了批量应用。
