An integrated job release and scheduling approach on parallel machines: An application in electric wire-harness industry

This paper presents a new job release (JR) and scheduling methodology for one-stage parallel machines where sequence dependent setup times exist. A decision support system (DSS) based on job release is developed in order to enable the application of the methodology. First, mathematical programming models for both job release and job scheduling are devised. Then, due to the NP-hard nature of the problems, heuristics are proposed. As for the interaction between JR and scheduling, job scheduling is integrated with job release for the proposed heuristic solutions so that the capacity achievement provided by scheduling can be utilized for job release. In brief, product design characteristics oriented scheduling affects JR in the proposed approach. Moreover, value stream mapping (VSM) approach is used with the aim of stating the effect of the proposed methodology. Furthermore, the presented methodology was applied in a real life electric wire-harness production system. The application, based on 120-day production data, revealed that the proposed methodology provided 25% decrease in in-plant manufacturing lead time.

Towards adaptive learning with improved convergence of deep belief networks on graphics processing units

In this paper we focus on two complementary approaches to significantly decrease pre-training time of a deep belief network (DBN). First, we propose an adaptive step size technique to enhance the convergence of the contrastive divergence (CD) algorithm, thereby reducing the number of epochs to train the restricted Boltzmann machine (RBM) that supports the DBN infrastructure. Second, we present a highly scalable graphics processing unit (GPU) parallel implementation of the CD-k algorithm, which boosts notably the training speed. Additionally, extensive experiments are conducted on the MNIST and the HHreco databases. The results suggest that the maximum useful depth of a DBN is related to the number and quality of the training samples. Moreover, it was found that the lower-level layer plays a fundamental role for building successful DBN models. Furthermore, the results contradict the pre-conceived idea that all the layers should be pre-trained. Finally, it is shown that by incorporating multiple back-propagation (MBP) layers, the DBNs generalization capability is remarkably improved.

考虑转包的平行机供应链排序

研究一类考虑转包的供应链排序问题, 即工厂从客户处接受一批订单, 这些订单既可以由工厂完成, 也可以通过支付一定费用进行转包. 工厂需要确定被转包的订单集并安排未被转包订单的生产和运输. 针对工厂为平行机生产环境的情况, 以交货期限内完成所有订单的转包成本、生产成本与运输成本之和最小化为目标, 构建了问题的数学模型, 并设计了启发式算法. 最后通过数值实验结果表明了算法的有效性.

     

基于LS-SVM逆系统的无轴承异步电机解耦控制

无轴承异步电机具有非线性、多变量和强耦合的特点,要实现电机稳定悬浮和旋转运行,必须对其进行非线性动态解耦控制。为了克服逆系统方法精确建模难的局限性,采用基于最小二乘支持向量机(LS-SVM)α阶逆系统方法对无轴承异步电机进行动态解耦控制的研究。首先利用最小二乘支持向量机辨识出无轴承异步电机的逆模型,然后将它串联在原系统前,将无轴承异步电机解耦成四个独立的伪线性子系统-2个径向位移子系统、一个速度子系统和一个磁链子系统。为保证鲁棒性能,最后对解耦后的系统采用非线性内模控制策略。研究表明,LS-SVMα阶逆系统方法能够实现无轴承异步电机径向悬浮力和旋转力之间的动态解耦控制,控制系统具有良好的静态和动态性能。

Measurement of soybean fatty acids by near-infrared spectroscopy: Linear and nonlinear calibration methods

A key element of successful development of new soybean cultivars is availability of inexpensive and rapid methods for measurement of FA in seeds. Published research demonstrated applicability of NIR spectroscopy for FA profiling in oilseeds. The objectives of this study were to investigate the applicability of NIR spectroscopy for measurement of FA in whole soybeans and compare performance of calibration methods. Equations were developed using partial least squares (PLS), artificial neural networks (ANN), and support vector machines (SVM) regression methods. Validation results demonstrated that (i) equations for total saturates had the highest predictive ability (r ²=0.91–0.94) and were usable for quality assurance applications, (ii) palmitic acid models (r ²=0.80–0.84) were usable for certain research applications, and (iii) equations for stearic (r ²=0.49–0.68), oleic (r ²=0.76–0.81), linoleic (r ²=0.73–0.76), and linolenic (r ²=0.67–0.74) acids could be used for sample screening. The SVM models produced significantly more accurate predictions than those developed with PLS. ANN calibrations were not different from the other two methods. Reduction in the number of calibration samples reduced predictive ability of all equations. The rate of performance degradation of SVM models with sample reduction was the lowest.     

华电芜湖电厂启备变保护电流互感器的配置与选型

华电芜湖电厂一期(2×660MW)工程中,升压站为500kV电压等级,采用121断路器接线。启备变接入1(1/2)断路器串中,这使得该工程启备变保护用电流互感器的配置不同于一般的变压器。本文通过计算分析,提出了启备变1(1/2)断路器接线中保护配置方案及电流互感器的选型。
